9 women in town to play a tennis tournament; great accommodations on large property; enjoyed the pool; plenty of beds and bathrooms; kitchen well-stocked; had everything we needed (but bring your own bath soap). Internet was slow, never could load tv, property is surrounded by lots of trees, so....Other than that, no problems! Would stay there again for sure.

Country living at its finest!! The pictures online are accurate and not retouched. The kitchen was stocked better than my own. The pool area was fantastic. The pond provided hours of fishing and kayaking entertainment. The outdoor kitchen was terrific. Teens and adults all enjoyed the weekend retreat and hopefully we'll be able to enjoy the property again. One grandson said it was the best vacation of his life!! Location is great as well - right here in Louisiana.

The property was gorgeous! We felt like we were in our own private park. You could hear a few vehicles out on the highway, but you could not see them. It was great to have the 5 bedrooms with a bathroom for each, plus the half baths out by the pool.

The Secret Garden

This was an amazing trip and stay. We enjoyed walking the grounds to discover hidden treasures in the gardens. Having the house and pool to ourselves was fantastic and a great way to relax and reconnect the family. There was an oven issue but Chris was on top of it and communicate well to accommodate me for it. Highly recommend!!

Cute house, overrated and overpriced

As a frequent vrbo renter i'd have to say this place was very overrated and very overpriced for what you get. From the pictures everything looked great, but there were quite a few downfalls. No smart tvs in any room besides the main bedroom. So you're forced to watch cable, which in 2025 is not the norm. The wifi was constantly dropping signal, so for the remote work we do it was not ideal. Almost all of the beds were extremely cheap and uncomfortable, to the point you felt springs poking into you from the bed all night long. The main sitting room/sunroom (there's no actual living room) gets no wifi at all so you're forced to watch cable (with limited channels) on a 20 inch tv screen from 15 feet away. One of the bedrooms is upstairs and it's VERY hot up there in the summer with only one AC unit. The "guesthouse" does not have central AC, so it's very warm as well in the summer. The owners were very nice, the pool was nice. The historical part of it was cool and the sunroom was pretty, but overall if you're charging this much for the amenities- the property should be top notch and this is far from it.

little piece of heaven

A beautiful property. Perfect for every age group but especially nice for young grandkids. They loved the pond and pool. Hosts were quick and responsive. Hopefully we will book again in the future.

Bridal weekend

Parents, grandparents and great grandma stayed in main house. Bride and bridesmaids stayed in the guest house. This set up was perfect and exactly what we needed. The sun room served as the make up/hair room and then all pics were take in there as well. I highly recommend. The grounds were beautiful— we were planning on a lot of outdoor pics but weather did not cooperate.

Our stay at the Secret Garden

We were very pleased with our accommodations. The house was pleasant, clean, spacious, comfortable, and nicely kept. Beds were clean and very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed and much more. The playground for the kiddos was a plus and kept them very busy and the solarium was our go to place every day. We will be staying there again.

Lovely place for family gathering

We stayed at the Secret Garden with several family members to celebrate Thanksgiving. The grounds are amazing and I wish we had spent more time on them. But the inside of the main house was fantastic for cooking a big meal and a large family gathering to eat it. Everyone loved the place and it was easy to relax there. The driveway turn is a little hard to spot but once you know it is there we didn't have problems afterwards. There isn't really anything walking distance but there is a large grocery store just a 5 minute drive away and lots of places to eat and get stuff along the main road (routine 190) close by. We appreciated that each bedroom has its own bathroom. All the spaces were clean and well supplied. Definitely recommend it for families and we'd happily stay there again.
