Thanksgiving Week

Had a great stay over Thanksgiving at this cozy hilltop cabin in the woods. The cabin came with a full kitchen setup for meal prep, and a nice woodstove for the cool nights. We saw wild turkey, deer, and a blackbear. Great location to check out some of the local State parks for some hiking and the National Forests. My only complaint is the proximity to the freeway, with the traffic, but otherwise great location.

Country getaway!

Spacious country bungalow with lots of room for the family. Gorgeous views from the porch! Host was accessible and helpful! Fresh flowers from their garden greeted us on arrival.

Lovely home

Lovely, cozy home. It was close to everything we wanted to visit. Had a few glitches, but the care taker and owner were great to work with to get all straight. Very peaceful and comfortable. I would definitely go back again.

Cool calm and relaxing

The house overlooks beautiful views from the back porch. Comfy and cozy home. The kitchen was fully stocked - as described. Lots of birds nesting, beautiful yard in the spring. It was damp during our visit, so you could smell the fireplace/woodstove in the den area. We were relaxed during the entire stay - way overdue. We are looking forward to returning for another stay soon!

Very Comfortable & Scenic

House was spacious and clean, great bedding and linens. View out the back of house was great. Weather was cold when we arrived and they had a fire going in wood stove to greet us. Very cozy. Would stay again.

Very nice house and well appointed and easy check-n. Discussion about "paper logs" in description was confusing as there were no, and then told using regular log was okay. Otherwise a very nice stay in a beautiful house!

Fun Girls Weekend

My best friend and I stayed here for a girls weekend and had a great time. House is up on 20+ acres and private, but you do still here some road noise from 64. Not bad, but noticeable. House was clean, but had a musty/moldy smell in kitchen area in particular. Bedrooms were not as bad. It was very clean, though. Property manager is was very nice and gave us some good recommendations on restaurants and things to do. Overall, we had a great time and would stay here again!

Beautiful property

The owner and property manager were very helpful and responsive. The house was clean and the kitchen well equipped. The back porch is lovely. There is some road noise from the nearby highway but you stop hearing it after a few minutes. Great place to spend a gorgeous fall weekend.

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful time at the cabin!! However, I think my German Shephard, Sasha, had the best time of all. She loved the property, running around the house and the property all day long. She played and we walked all over. The house was very well stocked and the beds very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit at night. Only issue was the master bath tub did not drain well but we just used the other shower. Appreciated the wifi for the few times I needed to do work and it was great relaxing and cooking dinner while enjoying football on Sunday!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!! We hope to enjoy ur home again soon!!

Covington Weekend

We had a wonderful long weekend in Covington. It was a very low key trip. We visited the waterfall and the Humpback Bridge. We splashed around the the river. And we enjoyed drinks on the veranda.

A Rare Gem

The pictures online do not do this place justice! It is large, roomy, and very comfortable. The hostess has amazing and went above and beyond! Normally I miss my bed staying at a hotel or elsewhere... not here... comfy, cozy! We had a wonderful time.

We Enjoyed Our Stay, But...

The Good On our arrival, we ran into the property caretaker, Natalie. A very nice lady who took the time to tell us about the house and gave us suggestions of what to do while in the area. The House - More house than cabin, it maintains a very warm 1950’s ranch architecture and decorated in a matching style. It has subtle modern updates while keeping its retro vibe. View - Perched on a hill, it has a spectacular view of the mountains and valley. Kitchen - Updated and fully stocked with modern cookware and appliances. Water Pressure - Surprisingly good water pressure and heat in the master bath considering the home’s age and location. Internet - We had 2 students schooling online and three adults teleworking, all worked simultaneously without any issues. A very important feature for families looking to get away during the Covid era The Not-So-Good The house is convenient to I-64; and when I say convenient, it’s literally looking over the highway about 1/4 of a mile away. As a result, you hear the constant din of traffic through out the day and night. If the quiet of nature is important to your mountain getaway, you will be disappointed by this location. Conversely, if noise doesn’t bother you and your looking for a central location to jump off to other spots in the area during the day, then this might be the place for you.

Reunited with my birth family

It took 52 years to bring us back together, but we finally did it. We reconnected on a DNA matching site. It was absolutely amazing. The house was very comfortable and felt like "home". Thank you for allow us to stay at your beautiful home.

Just what the Doctor Ordered

After a summer of being trapped at home, coming here was just what the doctor ordered to relax our bodies and renew our spirits. The home itself is exactly as it is described. It is tucked into the woods away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Only the sounds of I-64 in the valley below interrupted our peace. Further, the area is full of great places to escape into the woods for great hikes and outings. Another way to disconnect from the screens we are so connected to in our every day existence during these strange times. Thank you for a great week away.
