Very cute accommodation!!
We’ve stayed here before and love how peaceful the area is. Lovely house and we enjoy being greeted by the chickens. Royston is very close to Cumberland, Comox and Courtney and is a beautiful area.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the roost. The thematic property is comfortable and welcoming. The owners have designed the loft style property with all of the amenities that you would expect at home. I look forward to going back.

Royston Condo
We enjoyed this lovely condo for 4 nights. It rates even higher than 5 stars! Everything about it was wonderful! Spotless, great linens, kitchen stocked with basics like coffee,cream,sugar,etc. easy check in, owner lives below in the house so is readily available if needed. One slight downside- stairs going up to the suite, some may find them difficult. But a true gem! Thank you Scott and Laurie!

Property was extremely well maintained and the unit was impeccably neat and tidy. Stairs into the unit could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. All queries were answered in a spontaneous fashion. The eggs in the fridge, owners chickens, were a nice touch. We would go back again without hesitation.

Wonderful getaway
The room at Royston Roost is spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you might need for your perfect getaway. It is in a quiet neighbourhood but still close to towns such as Cumberland or Courteney. The owner is very friendly and helpful - we were even treated to some fresh eggs from their free ranging hens. Thanks to Laurie and Scott for providing this wonderful home away from home.

Such a cute unit in a peaceful setting!!
We’ve stayed at this VRBO before and liked it so much we decided to stay again. The unit is tastefully decorated, the bathroom is stunning and there is a perfect sized kitchen. The fridge was stocked with fresh eggs and real cream to have with your coffee. A real plus is having parking right outside your door and being greeted by chickens and the most adorable small dogs you just have to say hello to. The Lindt chocolate was a real treat and we highly recommend staying at Scott and Laurie’s place.

Lovely quiet acreage close to several trails
The hosts arm welcoming and the property is well maintained. The room looks out on several quiet acreages with budding green trees and a mountain range in the distance. I enjoyed walking on several trails in the area. Eggs in the fridge from the hosts' chickens were a nice treat. The bathroom and bed were comfortable and I like being able to control my own heating. One suggestion would be to remove describing the unit as having a dining room. The kitchenette is small and I ended up eating in the living room/bedroom. Other than that detail, I enjoyed my stay and the location worked out well for me.

Great expectations and wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property, starting with the fresh eggs donated by our admirable owners. It’s a well designed and furnished property with mountain views from its balcony. In addition to the Royston pub, coffee house and beach, the area is lovely with lots of things to do.

Lovely, quiet getaway!
The property was easy to find, the communications with the hosts was quick and easy, too! The accommodations were wonderful, and felt very welcoming! The whole place was impeccably clean, with sanitizer and cleaner out for when we needed! There were fresh eggs from their chickens and fresh cream for coffee and all the things we might need for a quick brekkie! If we ever want to hang out in the Comox valley again, we will be back!

Great place to stay!
You'll find everything you need in an apartment. Plus we even got eggs from their own chicken in the fridge. Laurie and Scott are super nice. We absolutely recommend staying here!

As Advertised.
Great place to stay. Lots of room with a great setup. Very private. Laurie and Scott were always available through chat on VRBO. They left phone numbers too, but we didn't need them. Relaxing in Royston
A tranquil setting. Clean and well equipped … perfect for Comox Valley getaway. And we were even able to store our bikes and golf clubs! Laurie and Scott were very welcoming and helpful. 😀👍

Relaxing Retreat!
What a welcoming and beautiful vrbo! The hosts were outstanding--no wonder they are superhosts: they were available if we needed anything, otherwise left us in the privacy of our top floor suite with its charming balcony and huge luxurious bathroom. The bedroom was very comfortable, and the small kitchenette was incredibly functional, having everything we needed to prepare meals . We loved listening to the birds and admiring the view! It was perfect to de-stress, just as we had dreamed of!

We had a great time at Royston, the apartment was so lovely and you have a great view to the mountains. Laurie and Scott are the best hosts, that we had before. We recommend this apartment very much and wish a lot of other nice guests.

Royston Roost Getaway
My partner and I had a wonderful stay on this cute property in Royston. The community is sweet and small - you really get the feeling of being in the country - but the property is just moments from major thoroughfares and amenities in the Comox Valley, which made it a great base for exploring the east coast of the island and skiing at Mt. Washington. The suite was really wonderful - pleasantly decorated (this may be one of the only vacation rentals on the island that doesn’t lean aggressively on a nautical theme!) and really cosy to spend a weekend in! The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook ourselves some nice meals despite being a small space: there is a two-burner hot plate, a sizeable toaster oven, and plenty of pots and pans. After forgetting a few supplies, we were delighted to find oil, spices, and tasty eggs from our hosts’ hens. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the soaker tub was glorious after a couple days of skiing at Mt. Washington. Our hosts Laurie and Scott provided extremely clear directions and check in details, as well as great recommendations for the local area. They were super friendly and lovely to chat to as we were packing up our car; I really got the sense that if you were looking for insider knowledge of trail systems or cool places to explore that they would be a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend this lovely vrbo!

Quiet location close to everything
Spent 3 nights at Royston Roost in October and would highly recommend it. It is easy to find, in a great central location for the Courtnay area and immaculately clean. Located in a very quiet, rural setting only minutes from Royston, 10 minutes from downtown Courtenay and about the same to the Kingfisher Spa. Suite is a fully separate living area on the upper floor, with a locked entrance that you get to thru the garage (you are proved with the code to unlock the doors). The suite is large, with a queen bed, sitting area, separate eating area with sink, small fridge, microwave and heating plate, and it has a massive bathroom with large shower, free standing tub, 2 sinks and lovely heated floors. There is a TV but no cable, instructions are provided on how to get Netflix on the TV using your own subscription. Suite is located above the hosts living area so I did hear some voices although not loud and they are respectful of the time. I also tried not to stomp around the suite as I didn't want to disturb them. The suite is immaculately clean and has basically everything you would need - hair dryer, iron, ironing board, kitchen pots pans and utensils and even fresh eggs from their chickens. Communicated with Laurie via email and she was quick to tespond

This suite is fully updated with beautiful decor and an amazing bathroom. It’s very comfortable. Laurie and Scott are great hosts: very sincere, fun, and social. Amazing!
The property is absolutely gorgeous so no wonder the suite was everything and more. The bathtub alone is a reason to stay here but the cleanliness and coziness of the suite do not disappoint. They even made sure there was bubble bath and a everything you needed to have coffee in the morning!!!! I can't wait to stay here again!!!

Great, quiet and very tidy spot if you need to base yourself around Courtenay/Comox. Lots of space, generous bathroom with soaker tub and separate shower. Patio off the bedroom to enjoy morning coffee. Small, bright galley kitchen area with everything you need for a short term stay. Coffee and cream and fresh eggs provided upon arrival. Owners friendly and considerate.

Online Retreat
This is a beautiful little suite. The photos cannot capture the attention to detail and sweet touches by Laurie to make you feel so welcomed and cared for. Laurie and Scott are so kind and generous. I was doing a silent retreat, so spending the majority of my time inside, but did squeeze in some of the recommended hikes ! I enjoyed my stay 100%. The fresh eggs are a wonderful treat!

Best 27th Birthday Vacay :D
The property was amazing and the owners equally accommodating! Made us feel welcome and at home, but also left us to have our privacy. 100% would recommend. Everything was better than we anticipated, far exceeded expectations. The bathroom was to die for, could soak in that tub everyday! We would definitely want to come stay again for our next visit to Mt Washington/Courtenay :) PS: Very sorry that we left those eggs behind, that was an accident! Was super excited to have them when we got home. I think we put them in a garbage bag to carry and they got mixed in with the actual garbage bag. Meant no disrespect, and hopefully we will be able to come use your suite again! :D

A great stay overall
The property is in a quiet neighborhood with walking/cycling trails all around it. It's a short drive (or a bit longer bike ride on a trail) to Cumberland. The suite is clean and the owners are ready to help as needed. No major complaints here :)
