The property listing as described and located in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent host and I would highly recommend this property. This is apparent with the attention to detail in the property description, restaurant suggestions, activities, even down to watching the 25MPH speed limit in Duck.The house is clean, well taken care of and great options with the pool and hot tub. The owner communicated well and quickly replied to any question.Thank you for a great stay!!!

We really enjoyed staying at the Seaside Cottage. Beautiful home in a great neighborhood and has many amenities to choose from. Shopping and restaurants are close by and convenient beach access. Homeowners were easy to work with and had many nice recommendations.

Great place

Had a great time at the beach but also at the house! Kids loved the pool and hut tub . Restaurant recommendations were really good. Wish the house was closer to the beach but with the trolley system it’s definitely easier. Thank you Melissa !

Great Stay!

The kids (5&7) loved the games and the backyard pool. It was an easy drive to the beach (and the property had everything we would need for the beach!) The house had everything we would need. The community pool was also a big hit for my kids (and they enjoyed the craft activities).

Amazing home

House was beautiful. Hosts were on top of everything giving us step by step directions for checking in and checking out. Gave us some helpful tips and ideas for things to do in the area. Our boys couldn’t get enough of the pool so much so that the beach became irrelevant haha.

Perfect family getaway

We had a wonderful stay with our young family including our three-year-old daughter, our infant daughter, and our golden retriever. The house was clean and comfortable and had absolutely everything that we would need for our summer vacation. We were extremely impressed with the beach equipment especially including a beach trolly with wheels, coolers, and lots of beach, chairs, umbrellas, and toys for the kids. The pool and the hot tub were clean and functioning. The kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood is awesome, and we love taking advantage of the trolley service, the beach valet, and the community pools and activities, as well as a grocery store and an ice cream shop right at the entrance of the community. The hosts were amazing and very receptive to any questions. Their detailed instructions for the house, tips for how to take advantage of the neighborhood, and what to do on a rainy day or especially helpful.

Perfect Stay – Thoughtful Amenities and Ideal Location!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The house was spotless, spacious, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. One detail we especially appreciated was that it came with a dog crate—such a thoughtful touch that made traveling with our pup so much easier.The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to all the fun community activities, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. We truly felt at home here and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Quick getaway to OBX for St Pattys Day weekend

Two day OBX wedding trip

We were in town a couple days for a wedding. The communication with Melissa was great, we had no issues accessing the property and it was setup perfect for our family of 3 littles ranging from 3-9. They loved the games and toys to play with. We didn’t have a lot of time to really enjoy the house but if we need to rent a home in OBX again we would definitely rent this one again. The house has every thing you would need for a fun beach trip. It was very clean and well appointed.

From the beginning Melissa was great with communication. To the point of check in day she emailed me information regarding the weather from the tropical storm that just passed and that parts of RT 12 were flooded. The place had everything you could think of to make a great vacation. The house was clean and well maintained. I will definitely be staying here again when we come back to OBX!

Just Perfect!

This home, location and amenities were everything and more! This home is clean and cozy. Beds are comfortable and the layout is perfect for our family. We loved riding the trolley to the beach, such a convenience. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the main pool was fabulous too. The community offers fun things to do too. We made tie dye tee shirts! The kids loved it. Melissa was so easy to communicate with and had great recommendations. The location was great too for our kids to ride bikes. We had the best week!!! Fantastic- house, community & host!

We only stayed at Melissa’s place Tues-Sat, so with 3 full days we tried to do as much as possible! ***10/10 stars*** The house: stocked kitchen for cooking, comfortable bedding & sectional sofa, plenty of linens provided, great open floor plan with functional space for games, puzzles, remote working, family meals. The outside space: great front porch with rocking chairs- perfect for our cocktail hour. The back porch is equally perfect. We grilled and ate dinner al fresco most nights on the back porch. Our beagle napped most days on the fenced in porch! He’s a big fan of the shaded and breezy porch. The pool is the perfect sized back yard pool, and we had fun battling each other in pool basketball and relaxing on floats. The hot tub was clean and refreshing. We must have looked so relaxed as neighbors saw us having fun and said they were jealous because their house didn’t have a hot tub:) Garage is stocked with floats, bikes, foosball, ping pong, games…. The community has plenty of activities. We enjoyed the trolley rides, not only for the shuttle service but also to see the community. The drivers were friendly and helpful, quick to jump out and assist with loading and unloading beach gear. The trolley stop is so convenient to the house and the trolleys stop frequently. Three community pools! The snack bar at the beach trolley stop was perfect for grab and go! Melissa is a great host, informative and communicative! Overall fantastic stay- house, host, community!!

All You Need (and more)

Booked a last minute trip to Corolla on our way south. Traveling with 4 kids. House was perfect! Community had all we needed and the home was so kid friendly. Property owner was only a text message away and always provided excellent recommendations.

Fantastic Gem!

Our family just returned from Seaside Cottage for a small family vacation and our first time to the OBX! From the get-go, Melissa was on the ball with answering any questions we had before and after booking. She even provided us with guides on the area and a list of their recommendations on restaurants- which were delicious! The house was clean and cozy, plenty of room for 6 adults, 2 infants, and a couple of dogs! The hot tub was clean and well maintained- we didn’t utilize the pool due to us being there in October, but it was nice and clean as well! Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with essentials and grocery stores were within walking distance. We loved every part of our first time at the OBX, and will definitely be back! Melissa’s house is in a fantastic location and we can’t wait to return!

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our stay! This was one of the cleanest VRBO houses I have stayed in. It was perfect for our family - 4 adults and 2 young kids. Even better, it is pet friendly. Melissa was so incredibly kind with the provided information and responses. We dealt with a tropical storm the first half of our stay, but still enjoyed ourselves with the amenities and comforts of the home and surrounding area. Would love to come back.

Everything a family needs to have fun and relax

The house is well laid out, well furnished, super clean, and with all the amenities we could possibly ask for. The beds are very comfortable, and having all kinds of games for the kids to play is a nice touch, as is plenty of popular books for reading. The house is on a short and very quiet street, with cul-de-sacs at each end. We were very impressed at how often the very convenient shuttles came by to take us and our stuff to the beach, and they are super friendly and treat you like royalty. The house was great for our dog as well, he was very comfortable and well-behaved, and enjoyed watching over the grandkids, from the shaded back porch/deck, playing in the pool, which is also shaded a good portion of the day. Our very gracious host was extremely responsive, and provided great recommendations on restaurants entertainment ideas for our vacation week. We look forward to visiting the area again and would certainly stay in this beautiful home again. Thanks!

Great Property!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was clean and as-advertised. The check-in process was drama-free, and we were able to access the community that evening as well as easily get our wrist bands the next morning. The property is in the community right behind Harris Teeter, which is a GREAT location and there is a Starbucks in the store if that's your thing. We'd definitely stay again. The only issues we had were the hot tub cover, which we communicated with the owners and they were very responsive (totally not a big deal, but they responded immediately which is worth a mention). Also, several of the community activities we were going to participate in were canceled at the last minute. That is not the fault of the property owners, but the community did seem to have issues staffing some of the activities, which unfortunately is pretty typical these days. Overall, great stay and we'll definitely consider next year.

Best OBX vacation yet.

Perfect house, super clean. Easy check in and check out. Shuttle was so nice although we preferred driving down to an access because we had so much stuff. Owners were fantastic and super accommodating. Best Rental experience we’ve had yet, and I’ve been coming since I was a child. Super convenient location with Harris Teeter so close. We had 2 families with 5 children and we had plenty of space. Honestly couldn’t tell it was pet friendly either, which we also loved. Lots of stuff at the house for the kids including bikes which was so nice. Would def rent again! Thanks again!
