Our stay was lovely.The completion of the previous occupants stay was completed by 2:30. We had a long drive, with a 12 month old but even though the cleaners had completed their process, we had to wait an additional hour plus, near to 4 pm, for approval to occupy. Although i know check in was at 4 , very sad there was not an okay to occupy. Besides that and the fact that the grill is worthless, we were very happy.

Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything. My family loved this home and felt it had everything we needed to enjoy our week! Our only challenge occurred at the beginning of the trip. Multiple communications listed our check-in time at 4pm. Since we were traveling from PA and wanted to get ahead of the traffic gertting to Corolla, we go into town around 11am and waited until 4pm. Arrived at home as another car was pulling in driveway. A women got out and was quite rude, sharing we could not get in the house as she just arrived to clean it and we needed to leave. My family was exhausted and just wanted to begin on packing but were forced to leave and drive around for another hour. Called property management and shared that 4pm is a rough estimate but that the contract said they had until 6pm to get the house clean. Beware that you may arrive at the check-in time and be told you can't get into the house...

Spring Break at "Our Beach Oasis"

**Love It!**Just a 5-minute walk to the beach—Whalehead Beach is never crowded and is dog-friendly, which we loved. Everything you need is close by: Food Lion, ice cream, pizza, Philly cheesesteaks, and the Super Wings souvenir shop are all within a 5–10 minute walk.The house had plenty of space for all 7 of us and our 2 dogs to spread out comfortably. The two-level deck and fenced-in backyard were perfect, especially for letting the dogs run around off-leash. The pool wasn’t open during our stay, but the hot tub more than made up for it.Communication with the property manager was smooth, and any issues were handled right away.*“Our Beach Oasis”* truly lives up to its name—everything you need for a stress-free beach escape. We will definitely be back!Want it more casual or more formal?

Warm and Welcoming

This was our son's first trip to the OBX and my husband and my first trip in many many years. It's obvious that a lot of love and tender memories happened (and continue) to happen in this house. It was relaxing and instantly familiar. We were both teleported back to an easier time in each of our childhoods when things were slower. This house was warm and inviting and while the floors were quite dirty, it was no harm (it's the beach after all) and nothing a little sweeping of our own couldn't fix. We are particular about this sort of thing and bring cleaning supplies no matter where we go anyway, so not a dig on the property at all. We had one small mishap with wasps in the gazebo by the pool and hanging around one of the upper decks, but property management was SUPER responsive and sent someone over right away. Not a big deal or anyone at fault, we deal with this in our own home, it's impossible to keep them away if you have any kind of wood decking or gazebo. The only thing I will say is some parts of the house and exterior decking needed some TLC and upgrades. You can see where some of the decking is rotting and water damage on some of the ceilings in the bathrooms (all old/dry, however). Still, we would stay here again it has a FANTASTIC location near the beach, grocery store, shops + restaurants and water sports on the sound side right across rt 12. Literally a 10 min walk. We got to hop on jet skis and walk right back home.

Great location but with cleanliness issues

This location is amazing as it's close to a wonderful beach and other amenities. The house was large enough for our extended family of 10. The house is older and in need of maintenance, deep cleaning, a bug control.

ALL-IN-ONE Location

Fantastic property only 2 blocks from the beach and only a short walk to the Food Lion and shopping. Our family loved this house and all the amenities - especially the pool. Very relaxing to come back from the beach and get a little pool time before cleaning up and grilling dinner or whatever else. Very centrally located in Corolla to other activities as well. We're hoping to rent again next yr.

The House is Outdated & Filthy

The house was filthy. They did not sweep, vacuum or mop any of the floors. You could actually see stains from the previous renters. There was sand on the bedroom floor, dog hair in one of the bathrooms as well as the kitchen floor. When you entered the house it smelt like wet dog and got worse as you went up to each floor. I have a dog, our house doesn’t smell. The living room furniture smelled like wet dog, and desperately needs cleaning. The sheet & towels were clean and fresh however, the bed spreads, quilts etc. have not been washed in a while. They are certainly not washed after each renter. The house is run down, they need to put some money into it to make it look updated and modern. The pool was not serviced. Although the pool says no diving it does not provide the depth and my brother injured himself. I would avoid renting any house managed by Paramount Destinations. I complained and they did nothing about it. They told me they would speak to the cleaners. They should have sent someone over that day to vacuum & mop the floors as well as wash the bedspreads. Corolla is a beautiful place, I would definitely visit again however, I would stay somewhere else.

Loved the location. Loved the set up of the house. Over all cleanliness was decent. We noticed a hole in the wall when we got there. They should’ve atleast let us know they were taking care of it so we wouldn’t worry that they would think we did it. Lol. Kitchen needed an overhaul, new pans would be nice, Was difficult to cook with them. Grill should have been cleaned out before we got there, it was overflowing with debris. And once a month they should really change the moldy shower curtains.

Great house!

This is a great house. The location can not be beat. So convenient for families especially those with older kids who want a bit of freedom. The house itself is a little outdated but extremely comfortable, clean and functional. The fenced in yard for the dogs was so nice though I wish it could have been accessed from a deck. Great little pool. Quick beach access. Great neighborhood for bike riding.

Outdoor Treasure

My family of 7 and our two dogs stayed over Memorial Day week. The pictures of this property doesn't do it justice. First off the location couldn't have been better!! It was less than a five minute walk to the beach which was never crowded the way it is in Duck. There were so many little spots inside and out to read, workout or just some quiet time. There was a fenced in play area that had horseshoes, (we took our own cornhole game) a separate volleyball area (bring your own ball) and another fenced in pool/jacuzzi area. There is also a covered dining area to get out of the sun while still being in all the action. There is also an outdoor shower that had fabulous water pressure in addition to a hose to rinse the dogs after going to the beach. The decks have gates to keep kids/animals from getting out into the street or pool area without notice. The main floor and kitchen is very spacious and perfect for everyone to cook and hang together. There were plenty bedrooms and sleeping areas and all said beds were comfortable. The home is dated and the owners are doing updates a little at a time. It does have carpet and probably could be cleaned more frequently. I paid money charged for my dogs which I was fine with but where does that money go? It should go to clean the carpet after each stay. While the kitchen is pretty stocked with cookware and dishes, it is pieced together with old ratty stuff. I had to run all cookware, dishes, glasses and utensils through the dishwasher before using. Fortunately I have stayed in many vacation rentals and brought my own spices, serving platters, dish towels, toilet paper, paper towels, throw blankets and shower rugs. The cleaning service left a bag with a tiny bottle of soap, a sponge, 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels. We had to call the property management because there were ants and the gate latch didn't close to the fenced yard. They brought out stuff for the ants right away. We just used a bungee cord to close gate but suggested they get it fixed before the next group. We usually stay further south but really enjoyed the calmness of Corolla. There is still lots to do and see plus great restaurants within walking distance from Our Beach Oasis!! After giving all the good and the bad, we had a great time and this property is worth the money we paid. We will certainly keep it on our short list for next summer. Looking forward to seeing more property updates:)

New property owners

Excellent location and amenities; however, the new property owners are soliciting suggestions for improvements. 1) the care of the property exterior needs help, especially areas that have become overgrown with spiderwebs. The street lighting is very limited, so the exterior lighting for the house could be improved. Inside, the shag carpet is dated and could be replaced with a Berber that might be easier to keep clean. The kitchen was very well stocked, but the listing didn’t mention the presence of dishwater, glassware, or flatware.The listing noted a drip coffee maker, but there is also a Keurig. Knowing that would have been helpful. Most linens are provided, but we were surprised that no bath mat was included (not even a washable terry bathmat). We enjoyed our stay, and I believe the property will be even better as the new owners make improvements. Thanks.

Wonderful Stay

A wonderful stay for my family and grandbabies. Very comfortable and clean and a wonderful pool and hotub. We ate several meals poolside and enjoyed it very much. The best of all was the proximity to the beach for early morning and evening walks as well as swimming and soaking up the sun. Highly recommend this lovely rental.

The location is perfect for walking distance to beach, restaurants and shopping. Perfect for families, felt safe. The house had many wonderful updates that we enjoyed, especially the pool/hot tub/gazebo area. The outside decks were wonderful for relaxing and reading a book, with a small view of the ocean. The inside house decor was beachy and bright and the owners did a great job decorating. Although the house was dated(not a big deal) the home could use more attention to the cleanliness of the home, especially in these covid times.

Great family beach house

The house was clean and wonderfully located. It's a short walk to the beach, and a short walk to a shopping center with some restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. The pool is a great size, and the outdoor areas are awesome with plenty of seating. There's always plenty of sun by the pool, along with shady seating areas. The kitchen has plenty of tools and pots and pans and such for cooking. I had a question for the management prior to my stay, and a got a polite and prompt reply. The house was overall a great place to stay for a family to enjoy the beach. We loved it!
