Great Vacation Home

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this home for our summer vacation. The location is really great. Close to beach access and to local shopping including a grocery store. Kitchen is well stocked and house is clean. The pool is a great feature!

Great getaway house

This was the perfect house for our family. Close to the beach close to town as well. Home is clean comfortable and well maintained and well stocked, area is nice and the neighborhood was quiet. The only “complaint” if I’d even call it that would be that the carpets could use a good cleaning as it was pretty stained throughout. Will definitely book here again.

The house was beautiful, well cleaned and a great location! The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances, lots of utensils and dishes. Our family enjoyed all the amenities - pool and hot tub, basketball court. The volleyball court was filled with fire ants, so we did not play volleyball at the court, but did in the pool and out front. It would have been nice to have the pool vacummed prior to us getting there without a fee since there was a lot of sand in it. However, overall, we had a wonderful vacation, great family time and made many memories!

Great house for OBX vacation

Our family of eight enjoyed our stay at Surf's Up. The house is very conveniently located to the beach access and has a pool. The house is spacious, especially with all of the deck seating areas. I was especially impressed with the well stocked kitchen. There were ample dishes, silverware, serving dishes, and a large variety of pots and pans that made cooking and eating with a family easy. Thank you!

July Family Beach Vacation

The home was very nice and updated in some areas, and it met our family's needs for the week. The pool and pool area were wonderful to have after a long or windy day at the beach. The distance to the beach was perfect, but the public beach parking at our access point brought more people to that area. Once on the beach, we moved to the right or left of the access and found more space to spread out and enjoy. Overall, we would stay at this home again for another vacation week. The only downside was the outside driveway motion light stayed on all night, attracting a lot of bugs to the front of the house and deck areas. The front of the house could definitely use a good power washing.

Family Vacation

We had a great week. The house was clean and well stocked and the management company was very responsive! We received detailed instructions before we got there and if there were any problems how and whom to reach out to. Loved that it was pet friendly and did not smell/look like pets were there!! Would definitely recommend this home.

Surfs Up was very accommodating for the four of us and our fur babies. The house was very clean and we were able to get in early..thank you that never happens. The distance to the beach was great, short easy walk to beach access. The staff at Shoreline was friendly and accommodating. We left a day early because of Ian but enjoyed our time while we were there. We love the obx and hope to see you next year. The Wolfgongs

We realized this house was a pet friendly home and we have stayed in pet friendly homes in the past. This home had a large amount of fur on all floor carpets, upholstery furniture, bedspreads and pillows. Either a better home vacuum or clean carpets. Thank you

The home was very nice and had everything we needed. It was close to the beach and close to the shopping center that we could go in the golf cart to get things. It was so nice having a pool at the house to use. We had a great vacation with 3 little kids and it even had a high chair and baby gates! Plenty of room for 4 couples to stay and the room with the bunk beds worked great for the kids. Definitely would recommend. Only suggestion would be doing a better job sweeping as there was a lot of pet hair on the floor still, but we did use the vacuum the house had to sweep again.

I thought the house could have been in a little better condition. Had to place one service call for underwater pool light and spot lights overlooking pool. I also noticed a nail that was sticking halfway out on the front steps. The grass was extremely high when we checked in, but was cut a few days into our stay. Overall, we had a great time.

Wonderful Getaway

Surf's Up is a wonderful spacious home with all of the right amenities for our family to get away for a week and enjoy the refreshing OBX beach atmosphere. While the weather didn't cooperate as much as we'd hoped, having such a nice bright place to call home for a week made up for it. Everything was healthy and refreshed for us when we arrived (essential during COVID-19) and the rental company was extremely helpful and responsive when we needed them. Just a short walk to the beach made the location ideal and the pictures of the kitchen doesn't do justice. It's much roomier and accommodating than we expected. We had great home cooked meals enjoyed around the large dining table or outside on the deck. The sunsets took our breath away and we really enjoyed the hot tub, especially on the chillier nights.

Traditional beach house

The house could use some improvements but we had a great week! Cons-The outdoor shower was FULL of sand and unusable, the deck had old nails sticking out so it was very unsafe for small children, the kitchen sink knob was broken and annoying to finagle, the house could have used a better cleaning before we arrived, and lastly it’s full of unnecessary curtains and old decorations which are annoying for a parent of small children. Pros- The air conditioner worked amazing, the pool company came to clean and service the pool, there is extra beach accessories, they allow dogs, close to the beach, kitchen was stocked with plates and anything you need to make a meal.

We had issues with refrigerator and pool heater. However, when we contacted maintenance the response time was quick. We received a refund for the days missed that the pool was not heated in a timely manner. The place was clean and prepared when we arrived. It was set up safely for children. We have 5 grandchildren and although it was cold they had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and enjoying the activity in the area. We loved seeing the wild horses! Anytime you spend time with family it is well worth it and priceless!!

Not what we were expecting

It's getting a little worn inside and out, so some updating is needed. That wasn't the problem, photos reflected the age of the property. We've been traveling to that area for 40 years and stayed in many properties. Never before have we been met with the uncleanliness, and never before have we ever been so dismissed by the owner/handler. There were barstool seats. One had a piece of tape on it. So what. Until I sat on the seat and was pierced by a nail (Tetanus?) in my nether region, that they tried to cover with tape. We called about the dirty pool and we're told it was cleaned as they got to it, but for an additional fee they could take care of it. We had a great time regardless, but will not be renting that house, nor deal with this company if we can avoid it.

Corolla Vacation During Covid Times-Wonderful Family Vacation

Loved our stay at Surf's Up. Great customer service by the rental company. Very responsive. We looked for grill tools, unable to find and we brought new tools. I apologize as we found grill tools UNDER cookie sheets in bottom drawer of over. So sorry but never thought to look there. Also, I only commented about an umbrella for the outside table which appeared to be broken in one spot. Just wanted to mention it so we were not blamed. A new umbrella was delivered. There was also a counter stool chair with a loose seat. Forgot to mention it but saw screw on floor and left on counter top. 5 stars for your company's responsiveness and help. Suggestions for the house rental: have a book or something just noting where things are like grill tools, how to work TV's, where extra pillows are, suggestions on food places (we are repeat visitors but good for new comers), and include a BATH MAT for bathrooms with showers/tubs. My 91 year old mom almost fell coming out of shower in top floor master bedroom. Floor was slippery when wet. I too thought we should have a bath mat or rug. But otherwise, GREAT house and again, Shoreline OBX was awesome!

Usually 4-stars, this year 3 Stars but it's still a wonderful home

This is the 3rd, maybe 4th, time I've rented this house in the last 10 years. It's a nice property in a great location near groceries and shopping, restaurants, etc. This year, to my disappointment (and easily blamed on pandemic/global supply chain issues), the pool pump had a leak causing the pool to lose a lot of water every day. I think the water level issue also prevented the pool cleaned prior/during my stay as it should have been. The hot tub was also inoperable (I was told it will be replaced). The dishwasher was broken and the repair part didn't arrive in time for our use. Other than these issues with items that are prone to have issues on occasion, the house is in good shape and the kitchen is well-equipped. It's a short walk (1.5 blocks) to the beach access and the beach there is lovely. I'll definitely rent this house again in the future.
