Not what we were expecting

It's getting a little worn inside and out, so some updating is needed. That wasn't the problem, photos reflected the age of the property. We've been traveling to that area for 40 years and stayed in many properties. Never before have we been met with the uncleanliness, and never before have we ever been so dismissed by the owner/handler. There were barstool seats. One had a piece of tape on it. So what. Until I sat on the seat and was pierced by a nail (Tetanus?) in my nether region, that they tried to cover with tape. We called about the dirty pool and we're told it was cleaned as they got to it, but for an additional fee they could take care of it. We had a great time regardless, but will not be renting that house, nor deal with this company if we can avoid it.

Great getaway house

This was the perfect house for our family. Close to the beach close to town as well. Home is clean comfortable and well maintained and well stocked, area is nice and the neighborhood was quiet. The only “complaint” if I’d even call it that would be that the carpets could use a good cleaning as it was pretty stained throughout. Will definitely book here again.

Great house for OBX vacation

Our family of eight enjoyed our stay at Surf's Up. The house is very conveniently located to the beach access and has a pool. The house is spacious, especially with all of the deck seating areas. I was especially impressed with the well stocked kitchen. There were ample dishes, silverware, serving dishes, and a large variety of pots and pans that made cooking and eating with a family easy. Thank you!

Family Vacation

We had a great week. The house was clean and well stocked and the management company was very responsive! We received detailed instructions before we got there and if there were any problems how and whom to reach out to. Loved that it was pet friendly and did not smell/look like pets were there!! Would definitely recommend this home.

Traditional beach house

The house could use some improvements but we had a great week! Cons-The outdoor shower was FULL of sand and unusable, the deck had old nails sticking out so it was very unsafe for small children, the kitchen sink knob was broken and annoying to finagle, the house could have used a better cleaning before we arrived, and lastly it’s full of unnecessary curtains and old decorations which are annoying for a parent of small children. Pros- The air conditioner worked amazing, the pool company came to clean and service the pool, there is extra beach accessories, they allow dogs, close to the beach, kitchen was stocked with plates and anything you need to make a meal.

Great beach house. Spacious. Loved the pool and hot tub and the convenience of the decks to the bedrooms which allowed the children to change out of wet suits, ect. The beach access is a very easy walk. The home did lack deep cleaning and general upkeep. Overall, our family enjoyed the home and location!

Great location and wells stocked kitchen

The listing says that certain items are not included but a lovely welcome package in a reusable insulated grocery bag greeted us when we arrived. It included dish soap, a sponge, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper and tissues, a single use laundry detergent among other items. That was a pleasant surprise! The kitchen is incredibly well stocked will all kinds of dishes, utensils, pots, pans and serve ware. I was able to easily feed my family without needing to invest in a single kitchen item. In fact, there are 3 types of coffee makers! The only issue I had, which is unrelated to the property owner, was that the pool had not been cleaned and the bottom was covered in sand. I emailed the management company and within hours a couple came out and made the pool spotless. If you are looking for a well stocked home, convenient walk to the beach, quick bike ride or drive to the stores, mini golf and lighthouse I highly recommend this home!

Excellent family vacation!

Truly enjoyed staying at Surf’s Up! It had everything we needed for a great vacation and more! We had one minor maintenance call and they answered promptly. We will definitely return there next year-maybe try Thanksgiving!

Great Stay

Great location, easy and close access to the beach. The Pool and Hot Tub were amazing on the cold days that we could not go to the beach. The House could use some updating and some of the decks need some attention. The House needs curtains. We all had small children and without the option to darken the room at bedtime and morning they had a hard time getting and staying asleep, White blinds and see through curtains on the sliders just were not enough. It's very bright with all the windows. House is a very short drive to some great restaurants and shopping. We would love to rent this property again!!!

House is good for a family but needs a lot of TLC. Hot tub did not work. Pool heater did not heat

House is great for a family. However was disappointed hot tub broken dishwasher broken pool heater did not heat pool. Extra cost of $350 to heat pool. Couch torn paint peeling.

Dog & baby friendly and Great location to the beach!

We enjoyed our stay at this property, good location to the beach. It was great that the property was dog friendly. We reported a couple things to maintenance once we arrived and they showed up literally within 10 minutes so that was awesome. The jets on the hot tub were out and not fixed during our stay so that was a bummer, but overall we had a great time and enjoyed the house! Plenty of room for our family and accommodating for babies as well. Can’t wait to come back to the OBX!

Close to beach, but in need to TLC

The house is in a good location, but really only suitable for 4-6 people, and none of the mattresses are worth sleeping on. The house is falling into disrepair with evidence of water issues on ceilings and walls. Decking is very old and needs restoration and something needs to be done to help manage sand in carport. There are tons of pillows in the house, but the sheet service only covers two per bed.

Nice Place in Corolla

The property is situated in a fairly private location with a vacant lot to one side and foliage in back for privacy with just a couple block walk to beach access. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing on the decks in the morning and evenings, watching the beautiful sunsets. Thank you, Jeff
