"Room was lovely . Clean spacious high tech fittings warm and some lovely bathroom accessories. Alex the manager went over and above to make us feel welcome as did Rebecca on arrival . The food was really delicious by chef Rag Thank you for our Christmas stay and we’ll be back. Doro Jillings"

"Very expensive for what it is, room very dark and gloomy, needed lights day and night, shower leaked out on the floor also very difficult to use, especially for ladies that don’t want to get there hair wet, we were charged for breakfast that we didn’t have, we went for my husband 80 th, and I asked if they could do a cake or something, and the waitress ( seemed embarrassed) 1 scoop of ice cream on a plate with happy birthday scrolled on and a very small sparkler it was really pathetic."

"Great location, free parking and easy walk up to the small town centre and surrounding countryside. Staff were very helpful. Nice old property but a little dull sometimes and lacked character. Clean though. There were issues with water pressure, effecting showers etc. this was explained on arrival, so was not a surprise. Breakfast was unexciting and just ‘okay’ with overcooked scrambled eggs, dry bacon and a pot of beans that was more juice than beans. A comfortable stay despite the quibbles."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Retreat. The room was spacious and comfortable and we appreciated the pantries with complementary drinks and snacks. The facilities are high quality, with an elegant feel without being dated. Food was good in both restaurants, as was breakfast. The spa was very relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful. "

"I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. The bar staff are quite possibly the least friendly robots one can imagine. Then there is the traffic outside the rooms, staying on the ground floor close to bins, the bottle emptying goes on until 11pm and then the bin truck arrives 6 hours later in the early hours for recycling.. then you have to deal with the...

"El Hotel es una auténtica maravilla!!! Lo primero que me sorprendió positivamente fue la atención recibida en recepción por los dos chicos que había (un chico español, Manuel, y otro chico inglés que no recuerdo su nombre). La habitación muy bonita, limpia y ordenada con salida directa al jardín. Y además pude disfrutar de la piscina, el spa, la terraza exterior y el gimnasio. Súper súper!!! Muchas gracias!!! Para repetir mil veces"
