  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Encircling the top of the tower are 24 columns with gargoyle-like figures which are restorations of fossil animals.

We came to Columbus for our daughter's OSU orientation and the stay here was absolutely amazing. Everything was very clean and quiet. Check in and check out process super easy. Jessie answered any questions we had very fast. Whenever we have to stay in Columbus in the future, we will definitely be booking this for our stay.

Buckeyes weekend

Great location for going to anything Ohio State. Campus is just a few short minutes away. Host was great to work with. Very clean property and easy check in. Only recommendation would be to add additional seating in the living room area. There is only a couch and it made it tough for 4 people to relax around the TV in the evening. Otherwise, place was perfect!

Very close to OSU, clean, could be more comfy

This apartment is updated & clean. About 5 min from our kid’s OSU dorm! The free parking lot is GREAT. Communications with renter were excellent. Our only point of feedback was the living room … this apartment sleeps 5, but there’s really only space for 2 to relax in the living room. There’s one very flimsy & uncomfortable “chair” plus the couch. Good stay overall, though.

Nicely renovated and clean. Secure and quiet being on second level and was very roomy. Parking was wonderful in the private lot! The only minor issue was the tv buffering (however most people aren’t really staying in the apartment that much). Jessie was amazingly responsive in trying to have the router rebooted multiple times to resolve the issue.

Apartment near OSU

This property was exactly like it’s portrayed on the website. It was clean and decorated beautifully. Also the owner provided towels, soap, shampoo, etc. and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans. We stayed for a long weekend in the summer and was close to the university. Great place!

Great location, convenient and comfortable!

Perfect location. It is an easy 10-minute walk to campus but the apartment is super quiet. Our check-in/check-out process was simple and communication with Jessie was super easy. The place had everything we needed for the weekend. The kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked. Our bed was comfy and there was space in the main room for everything for our family of 4. Jessie provided a ton of great recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Parking was super convenient which we really appreciated. We would stay here again!

Clean, convenient, chic

This was a great find! Perfect for two couples visiting their college kids. Walking distance to the stadium, restaurants, and the beautiful path along the river. The owner was super responsive and we would definitely return.
