1. The house was filthy when we arrived and we had no other options to stay anywhere else due to the policies of VRBO. Since we had already been charged for the stay, we contacted the owner about the first few problems. The owner said they could send someone over to address the issues, but I did not want people in the house with my wife and children. We found a piece of, what looked like rotting fruit, in the closet window, smeared dead cockroach on the wall and the house was dirty throughout.
2. The shower in the room with two twin beds was gross. The shower in the hallway bathroom wouldn’t drain. On the third day there, my wife decided to investigate and, after wrapping her fingers with toilet paper, pulled a massive clog of hair out of the drain. Even minimal maintenance on the house would have revealed the problem to the owner and shows that the bare minimum upkeep is being neglected. The shower in the master bedroom didn’t work. We had to hang an additional window covering in the master bathroom for privacy as the curtains in there were see through.
3. The blinds in the house are disgusting
4. On the last night before we left, the roaches came out to play. This was the last straw. We left EARLY the next morning. We couldn’t leave fast enough.
0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.
We’ve stayed in Columbus before in adorable older homes that were lower priced and CLEAN. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available when we made this reservation.
5. I had contacted VRBO to address the issues and found out that there is little protection for the renter. VRBO did not have any answers for me. During my phone call with VRBO customer service she contacted the owners with a three way call. The rep from the company that owns the house said they would review the complaints and contact me within 48 hours. I still have not heard from them. Consumer be ware of this house and VRBO. You are not protected by VRBO.
