Pros: great location, decorations are adorable, nice white linens provided, fully stocked kitchen, laundry, comfy bed.
Cons: property needs attention. Light bulbs & batteries burned out. Wobbly toilet, grimy appliances, mold in shower along base, dusty decorations, fridge, stove & microwave filthy when we arrived, laundry in dryer, dishes in dishwasher (who wants to deal with that when arriving on a Friday after a day of traveling?). Outside area full of weeds. Water is shut off at different times by the city, television’s remote does not work correctly, only able to do limited streaming if you can get to the app with the universal remote.
We selected this property for the location, it is great! We contacted management the first night about the condition of kitchen, they sent a very nice lady to come clean the next morning. She used wipes to clean the microwave & fridge. Could not get the burned mess clean on the stove. We ended up going to store for softscrub & got the top of stove looking like new. I could not look at it all week, let alone cook meals. The coffee pot had old coffee that needed to be scrubbed out, the top of fridge was a grimy mess. Cleaned that along with the items on top that were covered in dust. Basically every time we used anything in kitchen, we cleaned it first. I also wiped down the cabinet handles. The bathroom shower has mold along base, yet they want you to use the squeegee on the dirty doors?? We came back late one night & no water, called manager & was told would have maintenance contact me, waited until midnight, nothing. Woke up next day, no water. Contacted manager again, then learned that the night before was not a local manager (??) and the city of Colorado Springs will randomly turn off water. How come there is no info on that??? It happened two times while we were there…hard thing to plan for after a day of hiking & then leaving again early next day. The first person “manager” should have told me this so I did not wait until midnight!! Learning the details late the next morning. We have a rule of thumb when traveling for vacation…it must be nicer than our house or was it worth it?? The beautiful mountains of Colorado certainly are no comparison to the flat fields of Illinois!! The cute tiny home was a disappointment because it is not clean & is showing neglect. If you don’t have the same standards for this stuff then go for it!! We have stayed all over using VRBO and have not run into this before.
