Awesome Family Getaway
Loved the property, beautiful views. It was perfect for our family of five. Very nice place…very simple decor (aka not a lot of breakable things for young hands to fiddle with). Literally 15-20 minutes max from all of the primary area sites. Would absolutely return, no doubt about it. We had a wonderful trip and made some great memories with this as our home base for several days.

Wrong date
My siblings and I stayed at this house from July 19 to July . 23. We found the house quite nice and have little negative to say. The lock box for the key was difficult to open. The huge windows lent to a beautiful view but provided blinding light during the morning. Perhaps some blinds? Very secluded and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Great Family Getaway
My family joined me for my 50th birthday here. They are from Florida and were able to really experience Colorado as it should be experienced. The boys had so much fun playing in the snow and the house itself was conducive to long family dinners and time spent together. We loved it!

Wonderful experience
We were looking for a quiet place to let our Florida kids experience snow. This location was perfect! The house had everything we needed. The views were beautiful, and the location is close to so many attractions. We would definitely stay again!

We love the location and layout of the cabin. However, we felt like the property was getting run down, beds not comfortable, sofa dirty. Listed as sleeping 10 but beds for only 8. Two air mattresses had leaks and sofa bed was broken. Beautiful scenery. Glad we had 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Hi Janelle, the house sleeps 8 -- that's what the main property description says but given your comment I went back and found a detailed description under "about this rental" where it says "4 bedrooms - sleeps 10" -- I can't see how to change that so am corresponding with VRBO right now. I can understand how you were frustrated with the airbeds and sofa bed as a result -- no one has used those for over a year since I changed the listing. Were any of the regular beds uncomfortable? If you could let me know I'd appreciate it as I've never gotten that complaint before. Thank you and glad you enjoyed the cabin overall!

Great view!
Need more kitchen towels and wash rags and clean pot holders. Stove top not clean. I worked on it because I didn’t want to be blamed for it. Recliner didn’t always work properly. Not that unhappy, but feel owner needs to have a talk with maintenance.

Mountain Paradise
Rental was up the mountain a short way but once you got there what a nice retreat. Very private and serene with a great view. My wife and I decided to stock up on food and beverages and just eat dinner in every night since it was so nice and not have to drive back into town (Mantitou or Colorado Springs). Nice views in the morning and evening!

Spacious and Beautiful
This is the second time my family has stayed at this cabin…and we always enjoy it! It was neat to see the subtle but nice upgrades since our first visit - none necessary but a pleasant surprise. We enjoy having 3 bathrooms, all with good water pressure, the stunning deck and view - especially when the afternoon storms roll through, and the location for all the things we like to do, including a lot of outdoor activities. The breezes on the deck are great and keep the house cool before and after the hottest part of the day. It feels like “home” to us and we are grateful to have a nice space to spend time together as a family.

Early morning Black bear
Excellent experience. Quiet location, clean place, everything is in good condition , works properly and make your stay effortless. First morning there a large black bear was walking down the trail just beyond the deck. Also saw deer in the area. The air is fresh, the breeze is pleasant. I would recommend.

Beautiful Stunning And Convenient
Our four day getaway was amazing. Beautiful Views of the mountains from inside and out the Cabin were stunning. The drive up to the Cabin in the slick snow covered road was accessible in the 4 wheel drive Rental recommended. Our family of 4 enjoyed the Convenience of stores only being few miles out especially during the snow also convenient was the distance to Manitou And Colorado Springs. THE PANTRY dinner 5mins away has Delicous food there a must try. I cant say enough how breath taking and soothing the views were. We loved it and ⁿwill be coming back with our little ones, thank you Kathryne

Roomy 4 bedroom on side of hill midway between Manitou springs And Woodland Park. Windy road to get to cabin but your neighbors are Mule deer outside with lovely views.

Beautiful, Clean, Cabin in the Mountains
Katharine's Cascade cabin was an absolute delight. The home was beautiful, clean, spacious, and served us well for our family getaway. The view from both decks is breathtaking and provides a great hangout space for all. The cabin is located near the foot of Pike's Peak and is a small trek to get to, but once you make the drive a couple of times, it is rather easy to get to. Beware of deer though as we frequently saw them crossing the road to the home on a number of occasions. As expected with a home in the mountains, you definitely feel secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for. The home is filled with a ton of amenities and the kitchen is well stocked thanks to prior travelers leaving spices, sauces, coffee, etc. behind. Aside from the home, Katharine was an absolute treat to work with. She is so kind, communicative, and helped us out immensely with a last-minute request. The home is beautiful, and the owner is equal as great! If you are looking for a nice, relaxing, secluded stay this is your place! The home is very close to everything as well, so even though you can go to the home to getaway at night, you are a few short minutes from Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Great place for Family Vacation
This was a great location for our stay while visiting the zoo and Garden of the Gods. Plenty of room for the young kids to run around and enjoy and the privacy of the location was great.

Breath taking views
The views from the cabin are stunning. Bring your sunglasses, because it is very bright in the morning! The road up to the cabin is a little intimidating and I think could be tricky in the snow. But very worth the views and the privacy when you get there. There are other houses near, but you feel like you are all alone on the mountain surrounded by only trees. The house was cozy. We loved it!

Amazing Getaway
This was my parents first trip to Colorado. The trip was memorable to say the least!! The home is beautiful and perfectly placed on the side of the mountain. We can’t get over the view and the amenities that were available at the home. Our family varies in ages and the kids had a blast in the lower level watching movies while the adults relaxed on the main floor. The kitchen is very well equipped and stocked with dishes and spices that are kindly left by other renters. We were at the home for a majority of our trip due to the snow storm, and it was everything we dreamed of. The home is spacious, homie, and everyone had a room to enjoy. The kids played in the snow and we relaxed with the snowy view of the mountains for hours on end. The best part by far was the service the home owner provided, she was on top of everything, communication was excellent and made everything so simple. We are beyond thankful for the attention and care we received. We can’t wait to return!

Comfortable and close to just about everything!
We were all pleased with the house. The pictures are accurate. Some items could use replacement/updating, but never was the experience lessoned. We were able to take our parents on a day trip each day, with only a short drive. This made the afternoons and evenings a great time to rest and visit. My father was pleased with the vacation, and he is the toughest to keep happy. Just a great overall vacation.

High weeds around property. Master bedroom mattress cover had menstrual blood on it . Microwave was broke , dishwasher was broke . Furniture was stained . No air conditioning . Couldn’t sit on deck without smelling septic. Should be refunded half our money . Definitely not the nice cabin we sayed in Idaho Springs

Very comfortable home close to Colorado Springs
My girlfriends and I stayed at this property for a girls' weekend. There was plenty of room for the 4 us, each having a separate bedroom, and space to lounge and chat both inside and outside. The property is close to Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs, and we enjoyed shopping, visiting the zoo and other local spots. Be aware this is a mountain location and the roads are steep and narrow. In winter, 4-wheel-drive and/or snow tires will be necessary. Unfortunately, neither the microwave nor dishwasher were working for our visit. Plenty of towels were provided. There is a use/share policy on condiments, spices and other goods, so there are coffee filters, sugar, etc. there when you arrive. Plenty of cookware and dishes. Great deck, and a very nice outdoor grill.

Great vacation
Wonderful cabin, our family had a wonderful week together here. It was great having three levels so we all could be together while having our own space. Please follow trash rules carefully, we had a momma and two big cubs come visiting our last morning around five a,m, that actually was very cool. Our only issue is that the grounds could be a bit more cared for ( stairs and sidewalk is are overgrown) and the furnitings are a bit tattered ( lampshades torn and furniture holes) we had an issue with the dryer, and had a person there within a couple of hours of reporting it, that was impressive Overall, it was a tremendous week at a wonderful cabin and we would gladly stay there again, we recommend it highly

Grandpas 60 birthday
We enjoyed are visit to CO very much and the cabin was a nice place for my family to hang out. We had a wonderful vacation and celebration for grandpas 60th birthday. We visited Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the winds , and 11 mile Canyon which was are favorite! Thank you for letting us stay. It Was a great location for us to revisit childhood vacation attractions. The maintenance for the home was good. Some things you might need to check on are- We experienced a bad smell when sitting on the deck from the belching of the septic. Windows have to be pushed in from the outside when you close them and the door of the dishwasher falls, hitting your shins, ouch. ! And the lawn/wild grasses could be trimmed back.

great location. close to the parts of Colorado Springs that are good for tourists. Driveway is gravel and eroding ---- should have been paved. No Air-conditioning. In July, till noon time, the main living area is hot - due to the sun blaring in. Small kitchen but sufficient. Has sleeping for ten. Nice deck. Cascade is 15 minutes away with Walmart and nice restaurants.

Family Time
Thank you for having the place ready for us. Board games, card and essentials for cooking worked. We loved the view, as well as the amenities. The TV was not working well for us, but it was probably best to involve the kids in other activities. I would probably suggest changing the pillows in the master room. Relaxing and accomodating
We started renting home for our vacations over 15 years ago. We've stayed in very nice houses over the years but this one was a little different. Every supply was stocked and then some. We didn't have to shop for any toiletries or kitchen items. The food of course was not supplied. The house was very clean and the view was worth it all. So close to everything. The only long drive we made was to Royal Gorge but it was so nice to come back to such a relaxing place.

Great vacation despite the weather.
This was a very enjoyable place to spend a week. As mentioned, no air conditioning but there was a decent breeze of an evening along with some fans at the cabin. Very comfortable accommodations and very convenient access to Colorado Springs, Pike's Peak, or other destinations on up the mountain pass. Some minor maintenance needs, but nothing that impacts the quality of the stay. Had a large hail storm as well as a mud slide nearby during our stay, but still were able to get out and do a ton of outdoor activities.

Great Vacation
The Kulsa home had more to offer than I would think. The view was impressive and everywhere we went to was so close by. My kids fell in love with Teddy, the neighborhood dog, who even showed us the way up the trail we were looking for. Katharine thought of everything a person might need being away from home. Mountain View’s & things to do
Home had ample space for 6 adults to have their own space and good common areas. Mountain View and location make this a great choice if you want to take in many sights near Colorado Springs. Pikes peak, Garden of Gods on horseback and rental jeeps were used to explore more of this great states interior done in 3 days. Manitou Springs was a quaint town nearby with many shops and eateries to partake of, but coming back and sitting on the deck and taking in the Mountain View’s is what makes this rental a lovely choice.
