The only problem we had was that two of us are in our seventies and one is fairly short and we had to go find stools so that we could get into the beds! Other than that everything was perfect.

This property is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful water views. River Refresh has everything you need for a peaceful vacation. There is plenty of room in the house to find your quite spot or gather everyone around the large round table on the screened in porch. We saw a gorgeous sunset every night.

Great short stay

We were in town for one night before the triathlon. Wish we had had more time to enjoy this beautiful house! We were able to fit 5 adults with no problem. It was a bit pricy, but well worth it for the location and size.

Amazing, Clean, Fully Stocked

We absolutely loved our stay here. Our host was very responsive. The house is newly remodeled and was fully stocked above and beyond our needs. It was so nice to come and enjoy the house, the bonfire, and the wonderful views! I hope to come again sometime.

A beautiful home on the water

We had a very brief stay (less than 12 hours) at this property, but it was an A. It was very clean and well decorated inside. It looked brand new. My husband and I stayed here for a business trip. Next time we would like to stay longer and enjoy the view and accommodations.

Perfect Family Retreat

We enjoyed the trip very much - lovely views and handy to the boardwalk area of Colonial Beach (less than 15 minutes away). Responsive host - comfy beds - everything was fantastic!

Very nice house, close to lots of fun things.

House is very nice, recently updated, modern and stylish. Great spaces to relax. Dock and back area is great. 15 minutes from Colonial Beach, VA. We really enjoyed the property.

Amazing stay!

This house on Placid Bay is a treat! It was incredibly clean and thoughtfully put together to ensure guests have everything they need. Owners were pleasant and quick to respond when we had questions. A little peaceful respite on a little corner of the lake. Great sunsets included! We can’t wait to go back! Thank you for sharing your home - we truly felt comfortable and at home!

We left wanting more.

Everything was ideal at this house. We had fun on the lake and in the hot tub. Watching the sunset on the bay was amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The host was great to work with. We loved our time there and were sorry we had to leave so soon.

1,000% Amazing

Every few months the four of us rent a house to visit various locations around Virginia for the weekend. The guys, who have known each other for over 45 years, like to fish so we try to find something near the water. River Refresh was nothing short of perfect. The hosts have thought of everything and took the time to care about every detail. From labels on the lights switched, to the types of switches they used…to the well stocked, orderly kitchen and outdoor grill ( yes, we cooked) to the comfortable beds and quality bedding. From the Edison lights on the porch to the gorgeous bathroom showers with ample thick towels, to the evening lights on the dock… I hate to keep raving because then everyone will rent this special place and we may not be able to find a date to go back. The decor is gorgeous and very clean/modern while also being comfortable. The location and view are fantastic with a beautiful sunset. The guys caught several fish off the dock while we ladies enjoyed the hot tub. So easy to quickly drive into Colonial Beach for seafood, breweries, and walking along the water. Easy to get to Ingleside and Backporch Vineyard . The hosts were always fast to reply to questions and very easy to work with. I’m already trying to look ahead for a date to return!

We loved our stay!

We desperately needed a quick weekend away from DC and booked Nicola's property last minute. It was our first visit to the area and really enjoyed exploring and checking out nearby Colonial Beach. Even in winter, it was such a peaceful stay - we read and played games, watched wildlife from the dock, cooked a lovely dinner in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed warming up in the hot tub. We can't wait to come back again in the summer!
