"Nice place, only an overnight stay. A slight walk from the main road if you're on foot, under 10 mins. No direct transport from Newton Abbot station but if you fancy a 30-minute walk it's not a bad route. On the tip end of River Teign and quite scenic with a nice outdoor garden. Guessing you can take dogs in as they have a dog wash on site :) Restaurant and bar has some good choices."

"The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room, which was very spacious. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms seemed to be sound-proof because it was so quiet and relaxing. Livermead beach is located across the street; the beach is beautiful, but the sand disappears at high tide, so be sure to plan your beach day around this. We also loved the stunning views from the rooftop terrace bar. We would love to return to Torquay and stay here...

We went for my friend's birthday stayed on the Saturday night, had a great time and booked a surprise treatment for the Sunday morning, when she went down for the treatment it was not on their system and the receptionist was abrupt to my friend and asked if she had the right date, I went and showed all the information ( emails, when I phoned and the money that had been taken from...

"Great location, but the hotel desperately needs updating. The staff were not very welcoming, they looked disinterested and not very helpful. Our room had an unpleasant smell when we walked in. The floorboards in the room above us constantly squeaked when people walked about which disturbed our sleep. The carpet throughout the hotel looked dirty with stains on it, which provided unpleasant and unwelcoming appearance. Garden and the plants were not maintained and looked very unkempt. "Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. Thank you. "

"had a 2 night stay and location good and in its heyday sure was a great hotel, but it is run down and needs a lot of money spent on it, room was very worn, wallpaper hanging off wall and bit tatty. we had a family room with bunk bed, and this it was very old and very noisy. The weather was very hot at the time of stay which was great for the weekend but being on 3rd floor the rooms were very uncomfortable."

"The room was very clean, the welcome was warm, and even though hot food is not allowed in the rooms, we were very pleased with the effort that Tim and Vicky went to to set up for us to have a takeaway dinner in the dining area. The location is great - literally around the corner from Torre Abbey, gardens, and the beach, marina and high street are not too far also."
