Excellent 2 day stay!

Close to Daulphin Island, Bayou La Batre, and other destinations along the Alabama & Miss coastal areas. And excellent seafood locations and eating places. Quiet, peaceful and a beautiful place away from the congested places. Really enjoyed and highly recommend it! Will probably plan a trip back and bring my boat.

It was a great place to stay very cozy and quiet. Excellent if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle. It was only 15 minutes from the beach (side note if you go to Dauphin Island beaches make sure you have very good cellphone service to use the ParkMobile app. They will boot your car) Also the people at Catalina Restaurant are the best if you have a toddler. The restaurants along the beach had very rude staff so we ate at Catalina the majority of our trip. The Aquarium was also great we enjoyed it. Definitely was a nice get away

Perfectly Peaceful

This accommodation is much roomier than expected and closer to Dauphin Island than I imagined. The shed is delightful. My three adult children and I stayed very comfortably for the weekend. The beautiful oaks and pines, the luscious St. Augustine, view of the river and the kindness of our hosts made the stay so relaxing. This is an excellent rental for anyone seeking quiet and beauty.

We loved our stay!

This was our first beach vacation to Dauphin Island. We were about 10 minutes and an easy drive to the beach! The shed is super adorable and spacious! Beds were comfy and everything was there that we needed for the whole week! The river runs behind it and there’s a seafood store - we are obsessed with the fresh shrimp & crab quiche! It was the perfect trip! We will be back next year for sure!!

Beautiful Coden Getaway

My husband, son, and I spent 3 nights at this peaceful property. Secluded yet close to many things. Dauphin Island was only around 15 minutes away. We spent a little of each evening there. Beautiful sunsets!! Mobile not far away as well. Would definitely stay here again! Beautiful property, nice inside, wonderful hosts! Was also a nice bonus to buy up some shrimp to bring home from the owners of the property(Zirlott's Gulf Products) before we left out. Thank you Patricia and Kate for sharing your property! We had a wonderful visit!

Perfect Private Getaway Spot Close To DI

We were looking for a basic clean and quiet spot for a short and affordable anniversary getaway on or close to Dauphin Island and this fit the bill perfectly! When I read the description I got excited that is was close to the river AND the island. The prospect of getting to see a ‘gator was exciting but alas we didn’t. Maybe next time! :) There was plenty of room, it was cool enough, anything we needed in the kitchen if we wanted to stop at Greer’s or get seafood from Zirlott’s and cook, and was clean and had plenty of towels. We enjoyed the food selections nearby and the hosts were very pleasant when we spoke. Just a perfect stay!

Quite get away

If you want peace and quiet after a long day of beaching and or fishing this is the place. My oldest son is hard to please but liked staying there. I have rented condos but a lot of time you can hear folks walking and talking as they go to there condo when you are trying to sleep. It’s real cozy. The owner and family are super friendly. The drive to the beach is not long at all. I would highly recommend it to someone who doesn’t want to deal with a bunch of people.

Worked Great for Our Needs

The booking and check in processes were seamless. The Shed served our purposes perfectly. We had plenty of room for the two of us and everything we needed to make a meal. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable however the pillows were small. The weather outside was extremely hot so the AC, as is typical in the south, had a hard time keeping up with the heat. However, it still was not hot in the rental. Communications with the host was on point. She was always a text or phone call away if needed. Thank you for a great day!

Perfect Location between Mobile and Dauphin Island

My husband, five yr old son and myself drove in from St. Louis for Labor Day Weekend. The property is beautiful and right on the water. It’s very quiet at night and in the morning. We visited Dauphin Island’s West End Beach twice which is only about 20 min away (no parking fee), and the USS Alabama in Mobile which is about 25 min North. FYI Dauphin Island closes up pretty much by 8, so plan your dinner ahead of time. The mainland side of West End Beach has much quieter waves, and black sand. Our 5 yr old son could have spent all day at the USS Alabama exploring. He loved it just as much as the beach. We had everything we needed at The Shed with a gracious and easily accessible host. Thank you for a lovely extended Weekend!

Great people, great seafood, and great stay

Our stay at “The Shed” had more to offer than I can put into words. The Zirlott’s were so accommodating and such down to earth sweet people! We had the best oysters of our life right from their dock along with an insanely delicious crab quiche. Let’s just say if I had a bigger cooler I would’ve bought every last shrimp, oyster, crab quiche and container of gumbo they had there. The Shed it’s self was very comfortable and had everything we needed to have a great time relaxing right there on the property. All and all this trip is worth every single penny and if are looking at this property and considering booking it you won’t regret it. Again if you’re anything like me and love great people, great food and great conversations the Zirlott’s and this shed offer everything you need in life! Better hurry though my wife and I are already looking for the next slots available to book our next trip there.

Our second stay at the Shed did not disappoint.

Absolutely love the Zirlott family, staying in the comfy and cozy shed, and enjoying the hidden river front property with a fish house to purchase the best oysters, crab cakes, gumbo, and shrimp we have ever had. We will be returning to unwind and enjoy this paradise again soon. Highly recommend a stay at the Shed to anyone wanting to get away from the world that enjoys great hospitality, genuine people, and the best seafood you will find anywhere.

Nice affordable alternative.

The house is a nice affordable alternative to the beach houses and condos in Dauphin Island. We (my 4 yr old and I) enjoyed driving past the cows and mooing at them each time we saw them and watching the fireflies at night. We weren't as close to the water/river as I thought we would be - the shed actually faces the opposite direction. But it was quiet and peaceful 🙂.

Enjoyed “The Shed”!

We had a nice stay at “The Shed”. Close to Dauphin Island for beach time, place was clean, and owners are super nice. We are already in early stages of planning our next trip.
