"The hotel had some character. We booked car parking for £12 a night at the rear of the hotel, we did not expect to park on waste ground with a 75 yard walk to the back door. The room was small but OK. We booked a table for 7pm. in the restaurant when we arrived the room was empty and no sign of staff, we enquired in the bar to be told that meals were being served in the bar. We ordered drinks to have with the meal and were asked to pay for them, we said would they book it to our room, this...

"I booked the hotel as it says that it had air conditioning. It doesn’t when i asked the staff they were rude and unhelpful. This is a rundown overpriced relic of a hotel. The gentleman on reception was the rudest person i have ever encountered. Avoid"

"We stayed in a ground floor twin room at the Cromwell Arms during the heatwave of July 2026. The room was pleasant, the beds comfortable. Whilst there was an additional heater in the wardrobe, a fan would have been gratefully received. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. All the staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant. Overall a good place to stay."
