"The hotel was great and the owner and his wife were fantastic! Amazing hospitality, really easy access to the slopes (you can walk 1 minute to the lift), but they also went out of their way to drive us to and from the slopes on the 3 days we were there.
I also want to really recommend this place even if you aren't staying the night for the food. Every night we had a multi-course meal and it was very very good - definitely worth booking if you are staying in the area.

"Delightfully friendly and kind hosts.
Very clean place. Simple rooms, with everything you need, and shared washrooms. Nice breakfast. The shuttle to the lift is nice (although also easily walkeable in 10-15 minutes). The onsen bath downstairs is a definite bonus."

"The young owners of this property are very sweet, kind and really try to be helpful. They seemed that had not quite got the hang of being proprietors, but they are very likable.
Compared to other places we stayed cluttered with not quite the same and amenities.
The owner was very helpful when we got stuck in snow bank during a snowstorm via messages. If you get a chance, listen to Echo play the piano "

"Family of 5, booked 2 rooms with ensuites. Everything was great from the amenities to the food and helpful staff. The Ryokan is around a 300-500m walk from the ski lifts however they offer a shuttle service every morning. You can also reserve the shuttle at other times to head out to restaurants etc."

"Absolutely loved my stay as a solo traveller. I can’t express enough how lovely the couple are who run this place. You will be dropped off and picked up from the mountain of your choosing. Definitely do the added breakfast and enjoy at least one dinner here! The snow wasn’t the best but this cottage made my time amazing!! "

Staff also understand the nuances to blending the Japanese +/- western resort experience.
Rooms are traditional tatami style, so just be aware after a few days of sending it, our lumbered western bodies may take a hit getting up and down from the mats.
Bathrooms/showers are shared - gets very cold down there.
