Thanks for your nice rating Linda! I understand your comments regarding the bathroom set up. This is basically a single family residence that we have decided to share. The design of bathroom access is actually better than most. The master bedroom is typically the only room with adjoining bathroom. This builder at least included 2 bedrooms to share the bathroom. Actually get a lot of compliments about that set up! If I were to design a house for multiple guests frequently, I would have a bathroom for every bedroom. But, this house was a typical single family. If room were available, I would absolutely have more baths!

Reading this review; one has to ask why this wasn’t rated at 5 stars? I believe as a host; I did my job, presenting a clean, fully stocked residence. I allowed dryer access, and if asked; I would have allowed full laundry access: I am glad she enjoyed all the coffee and candy I provided!

This vindictive guest felt the need to tank my review averages, simply because I wasn’t able to offer a late checkout option. (Had new guests arriving in 4 hours). I arrived at my listing to start cleaning, and had to wait for 3 vehicles to leave over 20 minutes late. Literally everything she said was untrue. (Older cabin) Built 1990, Vaulted ceiling contemporary, with lots of class and appointments. ( Basic cabin) Full of Fun, faux animal furs and mounted trophies. A big hit for most everyone. ( wasn’t the cleanest) An outright lie. I am an over-the-top perfectionist in this area. ( check my reviews) ( Lots of rules posted) I have only the minimum amount of information for common sense and safety posted. Never heard this before. I don’t ask my guests to do a bunch of chores before leaving. ( Lots of beds)?? There are 4 beds with pictures of rooms. ( Cheap place)? I could charge more than do, but I want to stay affordable for families. I am not the cheapest listing either. A couple additional facts about this “ guest” Her group of cars dug deep ruts in my driveway for whatever reason. Monica also brought 2 pets to the cabin and did not list them to save herself $50. I heard that dogs were running around unleashed, so the charge was added. VBRO was kept apprised at all times of this guest. They even called her and asked her to provide a reason for her low ratings. She said to them: “ I didn’t mean to”. To close, this was the most untrue, ridiculous review I have received on 2 platforms, and hosting well over 1,200 people in 7 years. I ask that new guests disregard this, and read my other review/ comments.

For the record, I did not write a retaliatory review. I avoided rating her stay as deserved. That said, this guest stayed several days, and left me a nightmare of filth that took around 15 hours to clean to standards. Any “ cleaning “ claimed by this guest was so half- hearted, it was not visible to me. She was only charged an additional $50 for cleaning. Notice she avoided mentioning the “ brown water” Hottub situation she created. Had to filled and drained twice to get clear water again. She was charged for that service, and the door her dog plowed through. I had just purchased new hotel quality feather pillows for the master bed. I arrived, they had been replaced with older extras out of a closet. I don’t think they walked out of the house on their own. They wore shoes in the house, tracking in pitch and gravel, against rules. There were piles of gravel on the deck. I have no idea why. It is my firm belief that she ended up paying nothing in this case, so I don’t know why she found it necessary to write the review she wrote. She claimed to be in the hospitality business. She should of known better to return my house in that condition.

Appreciate the comments about the view, etc. The statement about the bathroom details is not correct. They are listed accurately. Never received a comment about stairs before. No idea what the guest is referring to. This guest sent me very positive feedback during their stay.

This was not a typical, or enjoyable host experience. The guest actually loved the house ( as stated by her) but became enraged when I attempted to collect Part of her deposit for damage to contents in the house, and extra cleaning services, including a very dirty Hottub. She left dirty dishes behind, filthy floors, her children were jumping in and out of the spa like a swimming pool, tracking in dirt, left a wooden checker board in a pool of water on a table, warping U- shaped. Multiple house rules broken, she refused to respond to any of my communication as well. I sent all photo evidence to VBRO in this case. She retaliated by reviewing me one star, and misrepresenting me. I am never rude with anyone, but I will state the facts. VBRO is looking at removing this review now. My take on this? These experiences will happen occasionally in the STR business. Keep moving forward!

Based on Connies comments, I am puzzled by the less than great score she chose. I don’t know how I could of done better. I overlooked items broken by her group, as well as beach sand in the hot tub and furniture. Go figure :/
