"A beautiful hotel, with lovely friendly happy staff, who always gave a huge morning welcome at breakfast time. Delicious healthy breakfast and the best coffee, I've tasted in a long time, I had to go back for another. I felt very safe and it's in a great location to get to/from the ferry and to walk around to the shops and restaurants. "

"I loved the charm of the old building. Breakfast was included and was very good. The famous Lukmaan restaurant is right around the corner. There is a mosque across the alley, so you will hear the call to prayer unless you’re a heavy sleeper. There is also street noise but it usually gets quieter the later it gets. There is no parking. Make sure the taxi driver points out the building because it’s very nondescript. Overall a great place to stay. "

"Wir waren vom 10.auf den 11.Oktober Gäste im RETRO . Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig,das Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig. Alles in allem sehr angenehm und entspannt. Würden wir wieder buchen. "

"Bodde 4 dager i Deluxerom. Litt hard seng, men romslig nye rom, stort bad med dusj. Svømmebassenget rett utfor døren var flott og rent. Frukost var den beste på vår ferietur i 3 veker på Zanzibar. Ikke middag på hotellet, men beachrestauranten ved stranda, server Antares også. Kort spasertur på 3 minutter til stranda, der solstoler/parasoller var reservert for oss hele dagen. "

"I am a solo female traveller. Zanzibar House is an excellent property in so many ways. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are a delight to be in, with lots of comfortable places to sit and read or contemplate the beauty of the area. I did not use the pool and I am sure it would be lovely. At night time I had an evening meal which was tasty and they accommodated my dietary requirements very well. I am gluten intolerant. I recommend this hotel if you like quiet and beauty filled...

"Poor management and the hotel has no freedom by desk but is operated out of a restaurant that is around the corner. The room is basic a bed and bath. The manager is not around but part of the time but only at the restaurant. No sign at restaurant that there is a hotel and we were the only guests. Would not return. "

"Personnel accueillant et serviable du début à la fin (j’ai fait une nuit)je m’y suis senti bien et en sécurité à l’intérieur. On ne peut pas y accéder par voiture il faut marcher un tout petit peu. La chambre était propre il n’y avait pas de saleté ni de bêtes. Le personnel repasse dans la chambre l’après midi pour remettre un coup d’anti moustique. Petit dej ok avec fruits omelette et qques specialites. J’ai pas testé la piscine. J’y retournerai sûrement. "
