Family Vacation

Amazing property and location. Views are amazing. Home has EVERYTHING You need for a great vacation. Very well equipped. Have rented many VRBO and no one has covered the necessities like Shawn. If you want to relax and also be active this is a perfect home. We will certainly return 😊

Commissioning week '24

It's much larger in person than you'd expect, and Shawn did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. Even our puppy enjoyed her visit. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to enjoy this secluded little gem. It's about a half hour from the yard so be sure to plan travel time accordingly.

Short Stay, But Oh-So-Sweet

Though the weather did not cooperate, as is typical this time of year, we enjoyed a beautiful Cottage stay! Gracious and friendly host Shawn has thoughtfully filled the Cottage with basics galore in the kitchen and bathrooms. She is happy to help with anything else that might be necessary. Indoor sitting area is comfy and we were delightfully entertained by the incredible assortment of birds out our windows, in spite of the weather. (Nest-building Ospreys!) Cottage is so, so clean and beds are dreamy. Shared property with other guests is different, but there is plenty of space to relax on your own. It’s a bonus that groceries, gas and more are just a few minutes away. Nearby waterfront restaurants are delish, especially Pirate’s Cove! With spectacular water and natural beauty outside, plus many endearing Cottage touches inside, our Maryland and Texas families highly recommend Shawn’s place.

Weekend Getaway Cottage

We spent 3 nights over Easter Weekend here and had a great family experience. The host is wonderful and greeted us after we arrived at the Cottage to say hello and answer questions. We would recommend the "Wonder Cottage" to others, especially families that want to spend a quiet weekend on the water.

Paradise Cottage on Chesapeake

Easy to settle into and begin relaxing

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at this very comfortable and peaceful vintage home. The central air was especially welcomed on days with high humidity. Shawn was very helpful with restaurant recommendations (even on our drive down from the Baltimore airport), was readily available if we’d had other questions, and had lots of extra necessities available if needed. She was kind enough to let us know we were lucky to be there when thousands of lightening bugs congregated in the trees along the driveway each evening. A magical experience.

The location by the water with light and views was fantastic. The host extremely helpful and friendly. We had everything we needed and the space was clean and light with many lovely touches. Highly recommend.

Cozy home with beautiful water views

Check-in and out is incredibly easy. Sean is so friendly and informative. The views were amazing! We spent so much of our time just hanging out in the shade in the back yard. Eating crabs pulled from the pier and roasting s’mores over the fire pit were some of our favorite activities. Perfect little spot for our family get away.

Everything It Says It Is

Our time here was everything we hoped it would be! We arrived a bit later than we had originally mentioned to Shawn but she was very flexible. When we did finally arrive Shawn gave us a tour of the property and gave us lots of tips and pointers. She is a wonderful host/owner! She is extremely easy, and quick, to communicate with! As for the property-it was SO charming! The creek it sits on is actually very calm. The neighbors keep to themselves so you don’t have to worry about that while staying there. We brought our dog so we just had to make sure she didn’t chase the neighbors cats-but it didn’t end up being an issue. There is a great choice of relaxing music to play, a great DVD collection with a ton of kid options and all kinds of games from a DVD Clue to marbles. The house and property were clean, quiet/peaceful, a quick drive to every day conveniences (groceries, gas, restaurants) and relatively close to DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. The crab traps were fun and easy for the kiddos-and made a fun dinner experience! And the fireflies…they were simply magical! I went out every night to sit in the backyard and just watched them twinkle.

Bay Love

Renting this property was so very easy. Shawna made sure we had all the necessities and a quaint, lovely cottage. It was just the right place with view of the bay. Beautiful place with lots of memories of our past. Location was great for all the places to visit and just peaceful and gorgeous views.

Great location, very quiet, great view of the bay, house was comfortable, older home with everything you need, some minor updates needed but very functional, host is very friendly but gives you privacy, appreciate allowing pets as they are a part of our family. Overall great experience!

Perfect quiet waterfront lawn to enjoy.

I enjoyed every minute that I spent sitting quietly outside without being bothered by anyone else. It was wonderful. I recommend this to anyone looking for a staycation especially. I had a perfect quiet place to enjoy Maryland.

Charming waterfront cottage in gorgeous location

We had a wonderful time in this spacious, charming, eclectic, home. There's just something magical about that water view! The location was great, and we visited lots of neighboring towns with our pooch, including Annapolis. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and then some. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and there's a supermarket that's less than five minutes away. Shawn was a terrific and responsive host. We hope to to come back!
