I have stayed at Chesapeake Paradise at least eight times, but have always stayed at Shawn's cottage next-door. While we have loved the cottage, we were even more bowled over and loved this first stay at Shawn's newly-remodeled Chesapeake Paradise House! Contrary to what was written in a recent negative review, Shawn has always taken care of any and all needs promptly and quietly, while always giving us our space and staying out of our way. This time, she even went out of her way to make things work for us by waiving her 3-night minimum to let us come for a short last-minute stay.
The first time I walked into Chesapeake Paradise House, I was struck by how much more beautiful it was than how it looked on the website.. Plenty of separate spaces, each with its own character: tasteful, beautiful decor and upscale finishes. I loved all the places to sit and every one allowed all of us to see out to the beautiful shimmering water. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and baking, even spices and condiments, and we didn't have any problems with blown fuses or the other things mentioned in that review; that was not our experience at all. (Having read Shawn’s response, I cannot imagine how anyone would think it was ok to plan a 60 person event that would bring 0ver 20 cars to a venue without checking with the host well in advance!) I could say more, but for now, I’ll just add, "We'll be back!" This peaceful spot is unique even to the Chesapeake Bay
