Very comfortable and relaxing stay

The house is beautiful, warm, well catered for, secure and a fantastic place to stay so would highly recommend. A 10 minute easy walk into the city centre. Communication with the owners was spot on and prompt. Would definitely book again when visiting Christchurch.

Oasis in the city
Fitzgerald Cottage was quite comfortable, and provided everything we needed during our stay. The only difficulty was figuring out how to run the dishwasher. The garden in the back had many trees and birds, and felt very peaceful.

Cat issues
The house and garden have been done nice. The main issue is the strong smell of cat urine that hits you as you enter the property. It is especially strong at the back door and deck area.

Highly recommended
Danielle’s beautifully appointed cottage is the ideal place to stay in Christchurch. The cottage facilities are excellent and there are some lovely added touches to make guests feel at home. The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The property is very close to the city and a stone’s throw away from the delightful Pom’s Cafe. Highly recommended!

Charming house and good kitchen. Zen garden in the back and secure fencing along the front of the property. Off street parking a plus on a busy one way street. Walkable to pathway along the Avon river.

Fantastic!
We really enjoyed our stay in this unique and beautifully decorated house, which is very conveniently located in relation to Christchurch CBD. The off street parking was a real bonus for us. The house is very well appointed, with all the mod cons you could need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

The Wow Factor
An amazing experience, what a beautiful home, so much detail put into every room. The garden was fabulous with lots of hidden corners to sit in. Very relaxing to listen to the water feature and the outdoor chess set completed the grounds. A beautiful place to seat out in the evening. The secured off street parking was an extra bonus.

Delightful Central Cottage
Cosy cottage beautifully restored to a very high standard. Peaceful manicured Zen garden. Well appointed with everyone you could wish for. Extremely good value. Central location. It is a lovely property in a good location with a bus stop outside, off-street parking and easy access to Christchurch amenities. My Wife and I stayed here with our two children (10 and 2) in September 2023. A cot bed and high chair were provided. The property was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. I would recommend the house for anyone considering visiting Christchurch. If staying with young children, just be aware there are a lot of ornaments in the house, so we were constantly on our guard to ensure our two-year-old didn't touch or break anything.

Comfortable and unique stay
The house was exquisitely furnished with an array of lovely detail though out. The beds were super comfortable with lovely linen. The house was lovely and warm and the kitchen was perfect for cooking up a meal. The backyard offered a peaceful space to sit and catch some sun. Overall an amazing stay.

What a lovely place!! It was so lovely, surprised by the amazing backyard and garden chess in the backyard. The beds were so comfortable, we loved the decor and THE SHOWER…incredible water pressure. Classy,secure,cosy,warm,convenient,all around excellent and will recommend to everyone! I even taught our son to play chess, on the outdoor set. My only observation was, that the head of the white Queen is loose!!!!!Thank you very much.

Warm and Homely
Beautifully presented home with lovely touches. Underfloor and gas fire heating, electric blankets. Easy to forget it was winter outside. Beds were very comfy. Handy to town (approx 5min drive) Everything you could possibly want in a home away from home. Will definitely be back.

The perfect spot to stay in Christchurch
This was the second stay for us and once again it was a great one. The house is warm and comfortable and has everything needed. Parking is secure inside a locked gate. It is close enough to walk to the CBD and there is an excellent spot for breakfast only a block away ( Little Pom's ). The hosts are friendly and responsive. A small problem with hot water got a fast response and fix. This is our go-to holiday rental in Christchurch.

Wonderful cosy cottage.
Fantastic stay. The house is equipped with everything you need and more. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. Lovely private verandah to sit outside. A couple of minutes walk to a great cafe and English style pub. We walked to central Christchurch everyday with the option of walking along the river which is very scenic and relaxed. You could also get a bus just outside the property if you didn’t have a car. Highly recommended for couples or small groups of friends. Thank you Danielle for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home!

It's a wonderful little cottage
We had a great time, the place had all the staples stocked and the communication with the host was quick and helpful. It's an easy walk to the restaurants and the downtown area. There's a trail close by for walking/running. Two thumbs up!

Great house and garden.

Delightful house with a French Theme

Felt at home and a very fair price
I was visiting my father in Christchurch but needed my own accomodation for my two older teen children and myself. This cottage felt right straight away. It was neat, clean , fresh and homely. A great cafe just a hundred metres or so away and the best yoga studio I have ever been to with a fabulous one week deal that made me feel like I was on a retreat. A nice easy walk into the CBD was a great little excursion and we also easily snagged some electric scooters for buzzing around when we needed them. The kitchen and bathroom were all very well equipped and the bedrooms were lovely. We played chess on the giant outside chess board at the cottage and the gates and front fence made us feel very secure. Will definitely come back again more regularly to visit my dad now that I’ve found a great little home away from home. Very good communication from the owner.

Stayz didn't send a request for payment, so or host couldn't send us the property access details.
We didn't know how to get in, because Stayz didn't tell me via email reminder there was a payment due, so the owner didn't share the access info, we got a motel instead... For the majority of my bookings Stayz takes the money from my account directly... 2 out of the 5 properties booked were automatic deductions. I formally request a refund for the first night as we couldn't get into the property to stay.
