  • Delightful bungalow with wood burner, ideal for Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal and Bradford on Avon canals, Gloucester easily accessible.. 1 step to entrance.

    All on the Ground Floor:

    Open plan living space.

    Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Ensuite: Toilet (Only)

    Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

    Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet, Shower Seat, Grab Rail. Oil central heating included (£25 per week October-March). Initial fuel for wood burner included. Enclosed garden with garden furniture. Private parking for 2-3 cars.. All properties: Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Barbecue (shared). No smoking. . These delightful properties, converted into comfortable holiday cottages, stand in the grounds of the owners’ working farm (care needed with children). The Granary (ref W43949) is a spacious barn and has been restored, taking care to use many of the original features and characteristics of its original life as a granary – the beams, the grain bag pulley system and other unknown objects have been put to good use. Both The Coach House (ref 15661) and Hog Pits (ref 18961) are all on one level and have a cosy woodburner. They all have an enclosed garden with lovely views over the countryside. The chickens and pigs (currently no pigs) are a delight to watch in their free range enclosures. This is the perfect holiday base from which to explore the many attractions Wiltshire has to offer – just 5 miles from the M4 yet in a completely rural setting. There are many footpaths and cycle routes in the surrounding area, with the Wiltshire and Berkshire canal towpaths also nearby. Within a short drive are the picturesque villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, both favourite locations for TV and film directors. Lacock features in Harry Potter, Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice, and Castle Combe was the backdrop for War Horse. Chippenham is an old market town with good shopping facilities and Devizes is on the Kennet and Avon canal with the famous Caen locks. Bradford on Avon is often referred to as a ‘mini Bath’ with splendid Georgian architecture and a bustling community. The Roman spa city of Bath itself is a short drive and a must visit for a day out, with many famous sights to explore such as the museums, the abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Roman baths to name but a few. Bowood House has magnificent gardens and adventure playground, and the famous ancient sites and stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury are well worth a visit. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Properties 15661, 18961 and W43949 can be booked together to accommodate up to 15 guests.

    First basket of fuel for open fire provided free of charge. Winter fuel supplement of £25 per week between October and end of March, payable on arrival. Please Note: Chickens roam freely round the property. A no smoking policy is in place. Property is on a working farm, care may be required, especially if you have small children in your party.If cats are included in the booking, then they must be caged when left in the property on their own.

A peaceful holiday location. Spacious accommodation with everything you need. Secure garden for dogs with field next door. Lovely to feed our scraps to the pigs, goat and sheep. Would recommend and plan to return.

We enjoyed our holiday, lovely area. Minor roads to get to hog pits single track lane, so maybe bit too isolated for us but ideal for walkers. Accommodation could use a little t.l.c. Plus bought some towels to use as found ones at hog pits very hard/harsh (maybe forgot softener )we are softy oldies, beds were good and we slept well.We did pay reduced price for the week so overall not too bad.being in our eighties we have stayed in many places and different types of accommodation so we like to think we be fair with any criticism.

Our second stay at the farm, this time in Hogpits, which is much better suited to a family than ‘The Coach House’ located at the same farm. Double bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable for us both, and neither of us have back or joint issues and neither of us are over weight. Reported to owners who will hopefully look at resolving this problem before we agree to book again.

Hogpits is a delightfully converted barn that provides every comfort a family might need for a rura

Hogpits is a delightfully converted barn that provides every comfort a family might need for a rural holiday. The cottage is spacious and thoughtfully furnished to enhance your stay. It is a lovely location on a working farm with free range chickens running around, plus pigs and a goat next door that you can feed. Perfect for a dog though as the cottage has its own enclosed garden so your dog can’t chase chickens or the sheep and new barn lambs. The owners are welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. There are many places to visit nearby , our favourites were Lacock Abbey and village, Bradford on Avon and Avebury Rings. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely holiday cottage.

Property excellent but NOT booked through Homeaway

Given the following circumstances: a) I DID NOT BOOK MY HOLIDAY THROUGH HOMEAWAY b) I have been charged a "Service Fee" of £40.80 when I have NOT RECEIVED any service. c) I am still waiting for a refund of the "Service Fee" despite several communications by phone and email. d) I have had no reply to my letter to Homeaway of 20th October. I would be grateful if Homeaway could explain what logical process or what stretch of the imagination has led someone to the conclusion that I am in a position to write a review. However, given the lack of satisfaction to all my previous communications I am not holding my breath waiting for a reply.

Beautiful plot , on the farm, huge enclosed garden area, panoramic views over the hills.

Great relaxing getaway location for families, and their dog. Caters well for restricted ability customers as all on one level and has a roomy wetroom. Easy to get to from M4, easy access to Bath, Lacock, Castle Combe and further afield. Very comfortable accommodation, well stocked. On site are chickens, goats , horses and sheep. The friendly owners are on site should you need them. Looking forward to returning one day.
