The cottage is a tastefully converted former Victorian barn in Tarvin Sands.

  • weekly rentals from Friday, and other dates by arrangement. Cherry tree cottage cottage has been beautifully restored retaining a traditional appearance with beamed ceiling and original features while still having all modern comforts. The cottage is arranged on 2 floors, with dining room /kitchen and separate lounge on the ground floor. On the second floor is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and a twin bedded room. Separate bathroom with shower.

    Full central heating, TV with Freeview and DVD player. free wifi. Kitchen with modern halogen hob and oven, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave.
    Outside the cottage there is a garden with tables and chairs, barbecue, shrubbery, lawns, trees and paddocks with many varieties of will birds and animals to be seen.

    The cottage is set in four acres of pasture and trees in the grounds of Poplar House and is a quarter of a mile from Tarvin village. The cottage is located on the edge of the ancient village of Tarvin which is mentioned in the Domesday book as Terve. The village has a 14th century church with damage dating back to the Civil War. There are also Georgian and Tudor buildings. Modern Tarvin has a Co op supermarket, an off license, pharmacy, newsagent and post office. It also has hairdressers and a beauty salon. There are two pubs and a bar and restaurant with live music at the George and Dragon on a Friday evening. Nearby is Pryors Heyes Golf club, sailing and windsurfing at Manley Mere or Go Ape in the forest. Oulton Park racing circuit and riding stables and fishing lakes are nearby with the ice cream farm at Tattenhall not far away. The nearest train station is Mouldsworth station two miles with trains to Chester and Manchester. There are buses every 15 minutes into Chester.

    Ideally situated for a short trip to the historic Roman city of Chester with its famous Roman walls and medieval Rows. Chester Zoo is world renowned and 5 miles away is Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet which has hundreds of shops selling well known brands at large discounts. Delamere forest is only 2 miles away and is ideal for walking or cycling.

    The cottage is a great centre to explore further afield to North Wales, Liverpool, Manchester and the Peak district.

    Pets are accommodated by arrangement.

Wonderful location, beautiful cottage with everything you need supplied. Even dressed for Christmas with Prosecco and large fruit cake inside for us on arrival. Greeted by Rob and Jan. Really comfortable bed. Warm and cosy cottage. Betsy(cockapoo) loved all the fields and new smells. Close to the village with all amenities. Highly recommend

Great location, only 5 miles from Chester and lots to do in the local area! Hosts were lovely and very attentive! Cottage a good size and well equipped only downside was the beds as others have mentioned, could really do with new mattresses.

Enjoyed our stay in Tarvin! The cottage was quaint and comfortable. The amenities were perfect for a weeks stay. It was winter so no garden in bloom but it was lovely, well maintained and I enjoyed some bird watching.

Cherry Tree Cottage.

Great location for our annual family trip home. Janet and Rob are very welcoming and everything was ready and perfect for are 14 night stay. We have tried to book this location in previous years but they were booked. We will definitely be trying again in the future. It’s now top of our list of vacation homes.

Lovely, cosy English cottage in a rural setting close to Chester. Hosts Rob and Janet were friendly and helpful during our stay. I would highly recomend.

Cottage stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay cottage was beautiful and cosy had everything we needed . We had a week away me husband 2 children and small dog . Lots of lovely dog walks close to shops restaurants and close enough to go into Chester for days out . Thank you for our Prosecco and biscuits we loved our stay and will love to stay again in the future highly recommend.hosts were very helpful we had a lovely time .

Cherry Cottage

Cosy cottage located in the hosts beautiful garden. Felt very secluded despite being close to the main Chester Road. Easy access to Delamere and the Sandstone Trail as well as lots of pretty Cheshire villages. Hosts were very helpful.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE

My son, daughter-in-law, and I stayed for 2 weeks and the cottage was all that we could have hoped for and more. Rob and Janet were the perfect hosts and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. If we ever go back to the UK, This is where we want to stay. So quiet and relaxing. Wonderful place to stay

Charming cottage with everything you need, friendly and welcoming hosts and a great location. We were there for a month and could not have chosen a better accommodation to book. The cottage in in a lovely garden surrounded by large trees and even when the weather became warm it was comfortable. Thank you , Janet and Robert.

A relaxing rural location

The property is well placed in a rural setting but reasonably close to Chester and Liverpool. We found the property to be very comfortable and the owners, Janet and Robert to be excellent in providing local information and for being very friendly. We plan to stay there in future as there is so much to see in Liverpool and the nearby towns such as Nantwich and Whitchurch. It’s not too far to hop over the border into N. wales to see Conwy and other historic towns.

Everything was just right!

Lovely cottage in a quiet location with a rural feel, equipped with everything we needed and cosy in colder weather. Good road connections and perfect for exploring not just Cheshire but N Wales, Peak District and Liverpool. Delightful owners were unobtrusive but on hand if needed. They very obviously care about their guests and had helpful suggestions for enjoying our stay. Thank you. All in all, perfect.

wunderschönes Ambiente zum Wohlfühlen, sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber

Wir wurden mit einem Getränk, Kekse und Blumen herzlich willkommen geheißen. Ab der 1. Minute haben wir uns heimisch gefühlt. Tolle Gastgeber. Geschmackvolle Einrichtung, in der Küche alles was man braucht vorhanden. Eine herrliche Landschaft uns sehr nahe an Chester. Gerne werden wir bei uns nächsten Englandaufenthalt wieder in das Cottage kommen. Der Erholungswert ist unvergleichlich.

Extended Tarvin stay

Had a wonderful stay in Tarvin at Janet and Rob’s cosy cottage. Lovely and warm despite the snow! Janet and Rob are excellent hosts; they’re there if you need any advice or help, but give you privacy the rest of the time. The cottage was exactly as described and had everything we needed for our month-long stay. We were visiting from Australia to see family, and Tarvin and the cottage were the perfect base. The cottage is near a main road which is great for access but is really quiet and feels like it is in the middle of farmland. Our little dog loved it too. Thanks so much Rob and Janet!

A haven of autumnal tranquility in perfect location!

From arrival to a note and welcome bottle of prosecco, to the end - we couldn't have asked for anywhere cosier or calmer to spend our week. We particularly loved watching the woodpecker feeding from the trees outside and the other beautiful birds and squirrels gathering around the garden and feeders. We had beautiful blue skies and crisp autumn days so we're very lucky. From stunning walk around the city of Chester walls as recommended by our kind host, to a productive visit to Cheshure Oaks to look for shoes, a spectacular visit to the utterly breathtaking Chester Zoo and a fascinating visit to Port Sunlight as well as afternoon tea and cake at a farm shop just over the border in Wales - we needed so much longer to explore thus beautiful area. Many thanks to our hosts for providing a happy and comfortable stay.

Gemütliches Cottage

Das Cottage war sehr gemütlich und auch gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist einfach perfekt für Ausflüge nach North Wales, Liverpool, Manchester etc.. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war unkompliziert und sie gaben uns gute Tipps. Wir können diese Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen!

Fantastic stay

Travelled to Cheshire to find permanent accommodation for my nephew. Cherry tree cottage in Tarvin was perfectly situated in our search area. It’s also conveniently positioned for exploring Chester, north Wales, Liverpool and Manchester. The accommodation had everything we could possibly need. It was light, clean and extremely comfortable. Our hosts, Janet and Rob were most helpful and welcoming. They made our time extra special. Definitely hope to return soon... Alex
