We stayed for a wonderful month during May while spring was arriving in Vermont. The backyard is excellent, and we spent a ton of time hanging out there listening to birds and enjoying all the trees and flowers. Our dog loved watching all the chipmunks running around, and we enjoyed walking up the road with him alongside the creek for short morning/evening trots. We ended up setting up a little extra fence for him near the driveway so he wouldn't go near the road because the cars can move a little fast on the road out front.
There are a variety of hiking trails and kayaking nearby -- several options within a 20-30 minute drive. We particularly loved going to Lowell Lake State Park and recommend it highly! Most of the towns nearby are pretty quiet and rural, so it's a good stay for people who are looking to disconnect and do outdoor activities.
The house itself is very well equipped with everything you need to have a super comfortable stay. There are tons of towels, extra blankets to be cozy, a super well-stocked kitchen, lots of beds and pillows, cleaning supplies, plenty of wood for the firepit/fireplace, etc. You really don't have to think about anything once you arrive -- Mike has already figured it out and made it easy for you! The furniture is all comfortable, and we loved the big dining table, outdoor adirondack chairs, and especially the game room. It's awesome to have a little space separate from the main house to hang out -- with darts, bumper pool, its own fireplace and plenty of room to stretch out. Loved that bonus room!
The host, Mike, is super friendly and engaged -- ready to provide advice and help out with any issues that come up. He was extremely fast to provide support and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Definitely recommend staying here!
