Yeah Right...

I worked hard within my budget to see my family for Thanksgiving. Not the perfect place. I pulled the bed up in a nonsmoking room to find a cigarette under it with two twin boxspring matresses pushed together to make a king size mattress. HOW COUNTRY! I felt like a boyscout!!!!! Wanna "rough it" come to this hotel dude! Flea bag!!! They have people to clean the rooms but are afraid of comet and vaccum cleaners.

Did not get wake-up call as requested from front desk. Desk clerk could not check me out...person on duty said he would give my room key to day staff and did not give a receipt. Location was apparently under renovation.

Hotel is closing

When I arrived to check in, I was told the site was closing this Sunday. The reasons, I was told, is the upkeep and renovations would cost more that the parent company is willing to spend. Therefore, only two lodges were being used. The restaurant at the hotel location was already closed; there were no vending machines ...the ice machine worked. My room was adequate and that's all I was really after. I did notice a few points that would have to be addressed if this business was not scheduled to close, but they were minor--like a hole in the wallpaper and the aged carpeting ... A walk around the grounds revealed what was once a very nice pool area with a gazebo and now unkempt landscaping. The lobby was very nice; the business center looked like it had been a pleasant room, but all had been disconnected. What a shame this is closing; it's centrally located to surrounding areas like Naval base, Norfolk, and VA Beach. There are enough malls in the area to meet the supply needs of your guests. A relative is stationed there for a few more years, and I would have been glad to stay at your location again if your circumstances were different...

Cheap - but you get what you pay for

If you like loud neighbors, shady hotels, that are super cheap.... then this one's for you! I had to leave after one night.

Convenient

For the price and only 1 night-okay! Reserved non-smoking room, but the room had a very strong smoke smell...maybe carpets need changing. Wasn't able to access the WIFI but since I was tired, I didn't even complain. At least they did warn of the current renovations so I was expecting that.

Cheap

Sleep in your car if you need the hotel was ok for the money, stinks bad and a lot of drunk, loud folks stay at this hotel.

cheap, not a good location

I will never stay in this hotel again. I did not feel safe parking my car or in the room. I should've switched hotels but I was desperate. The room was alright but the buildings, parking lot and location are not good. I could hear a birthday going on 4 rooms down the hall from me. I got the room cheap though so can't complain about that. The lobby does close every night from 11pm - 6:15am, there is an emergency number you can call though. I do not recommend this hotel especially if you are staying by yourself.

It was a nice hotel especially for the price. I only stayed one night and did not have time to use the pool. The beds were nice and clean. There was a weird smell in the hallway, but the room was fine. It was difficult to find in my opinion, but once you found it you couldn't miss it.

Needs attention to some things

I managed to get a good price online. The problems were that the water faucet was very difficult to pull on and off. The room could have used better cleaning. I had to clean off the rolling chair at the desk which something had been spilled on and housekeeping had not cleaned it. The rugs looked soiled as well. The complimentary breakfast was pretty weak and the tables not cleaned for new guests (managed to get some kids jelly all over my sleeve).

Room was clean, sheets a little dingy, towels and wash cloths not comfortable, I would recommend bringing your own. Room was never vaccumed. No ice for 3 days in any of the ice machines. Walls very thin and if you request use of a microwave it is a $5.00 extra charge. Other than that for the price paid, pretty decent.

The hotel staff was nice. The room was ok. My iron did not work. I needed somewhere to sleep and shower during my adventure, so I was satisfied.

Gets the job done

This isn't the BEST Hotel, but my room was cleaned daily, I had NO ISSUES while being there either... Solid hotel for the price

Hot Tub! cheap

The beds were definitely a back killer! I have a bad back and dang! was I dyin b4 I went home after 3 nites of laying on that thing! I for sure needed to use the hot tub after sleeping on that thing! But I guess you get what you pay for, and since the hot tub and indoor pool are the reasons I chose this hotel & it was this cheap, it was a good deal. It was clean despite showing its age and looked nice enough. I would stay there again but I would hope to get another room with a better bed.

norfolk hotel was fine

Don't spend much time in the room when we play ball. Had a few issues that were taken care of when brought to the managements attention. Was surprised at check out that there was a charge for the microwave. Eating places quite close. Staff very friendly.
