Nice cabin
The cabin and property was very nice and clean. Perfect for a weekend get away. We really enjoyed the firepit at night, and since everyone shares it, we made new friends. Due to no air conditioner, it was a little warm. But we managed.

Wonderful and relaxing.
Words alone cannot describe the amazing time we had at Birch Cabin #4. The view was spectacular and the cabin itself had everything imaginable. It was warm and inviting, clean, spacious and just plain wonderful. We all had a great time and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation spot. We will return again.

Perfect anniversary getaway!
My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The cabin itself was gorgeous, super clean, and very tranquil. For a cabin, it was very well appointed with a full kitchen (and everything you’d need to make meals), 2 bathrooms, and a nice basement with washer-dryer. The actual property is right on the beach, and incredibly well-maintained. The cabin is located in a cluster of other similar cabins, and everyone we met over the week was incredibly friendly, and the regulars gave us lots of good tips of what to see in the area. It’s located a bit off the beaten path of Mackinaw City, which makes it a perfect spot for enjoying stars at night as well (we saw a couple of shooting stars while sitting on the balcony)! I can’t say enough good things about the property and the managers, who provided lots of clear info leading up to our trip, and communicated with us a couple of times beforehand to make sure we got all of our questions asked. My spouse and I both agreed that this is very likely one of the best, if not the best, vacation rentals we’ve stayed in!

Great place to stay at a great location
The cabin was very clean. It’s very conveniently located in the middle of the ferry to Mackinac Island and Bois Blanc Island. A lot of room. The only downside was that there was no wifi, but that's minor!

Amazing weekend!
This home far exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t believe how gorgeous the home and property was - no detail was forgotten. Seeing Lake Huron, Mackinac Bridge, and the islands right in our backyard was such an unexpected treat! This relaxing weekend was such a huge blessing to my parents, husband, and myself. Nice location
Good access to the Mackinac area attractions. Nice cabin, except no air conditioning. Whole house fan and ceiling fan made up for it most nights. Beautiful view of Lake Huron and easily swimmable shared beach area. Would stay at again.

Even better than the listing!
This property shows beautifully online and even better in-person! Everything was as pictured/described. Before booking our reservation, I read all of the reviews for this and the other homes in the Birch Lodge Association available for rent, and I found all of the reviews to be consistently positive and true to their words. Located on US-23 at about the midpoint between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, this was a great location from which we could easily "hub-and-spoke" our way to several day trips on Mackinac Island and throughout the eastern U-P, including Kitch-iti-kipi, Wagner Falls, Pictured Rocks, Oswald's Bear Ranch, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, and the Soo Locks. And the Jack Pine Lumberjack Show is definitely worth an evening; plus, it's literally just down the road! Cell phone and internet service are hit-or-miss; however, we found reception and connection in the loft and on the balcony over the front porch to be adequate for whenever we needed to make calls or reservations online. But with Lake Huron only 50 or so feet from the front porch and Mackinac Island in full view, one really should unplug and gaze out over the water or up into the stars filling the night sky from horizon to horizon. So, what is lacking? Not much! No A/C, but the whole house fan in combination with the ceiling fans and open windows definitely kept the home comfortable during our stay in mid-July. That there is also a basement is a bonus; it's where we stored all our luggage and coolers for the week out of sight and mind. That said, one or two clotheslines down there to hang wet towels would be helpful. I prepared three breakfasts and four suppers in the kitchen. A proper chef's knife, cutting board and silicone spatula would be helpful, but I made do. The two-burner Weber grill on the front porch was just right for a family of four. I do suggest bringing along any "must have" utensils and seasonings one absolutely cannot do without. If space in your vehicle permits, I also recommend packing groceries from home, especially as I found produce and meat prices to be much more expensive than in suburban Chicagoland. The bottom line is my family of four absolutely loved our week in Birch Lodge #4, the other families and neighbors were wonderful (be sure to meet Don & Carol in #1), and we definitely would look forward to a return trip.

Beautiful Cabin
This cabin was beautiful, clean and had everything needed for a perfect stay. It is centrally located between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan easy to enjoy both places. The view of the lake and the grounds are fabulous! Very quiet and peaceful! We had a great time!

Beautiful, peaceful retreat - and access to everything
We had a great time at the cabin. First, working with the property manager was easy, communication via email beforehand was clear, and checking in was a cinch. It was a great location, both to get away from the outside world (cell phone and text communication worked fine but difficult to access data - which we did not mind) and to have access to day trips to Pictured Rocks (our furthest at 2+ hours), Tahquamenon Falls, Harbor Springs (via the Tunnel of Trees), and time spent in St. Ignace (go to the Museum of Ojibwe Culture) and Cheboygan (the latter via bike on the path just across the road). The cabin was quiet, clean, cozy - perfect for a couple. The balcony right off the loft where we slept was a favorite of mine, and my boyfriend loved swimming in the lake. It’s easy to wade or swim right at the edge of the property, with a combo of sand and large rocks that starts shallow and gradually increases in depth. The grounds and fire pit were great to spend time looking at the lake - even saw fireworks from St. Ignace across the water on Saturday night. Bed was comfortable, kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc. We appreciated linens being provided and starter paper products (we brought extra but never ran out of the starters). The only challenge was the washer not working properly, but they had let us know there might be a problem and I’m sure it will be fixed soon. Overall we strongly recommend this cabin, and would enjoy staying here, or in one of the neighboring properties with a larger group, again!

Fantastic Cabin on Lake Huron!
We loved this cabin located on Lake Huron! The location is great for exploring both the lower and upper peninsulas. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. They did a nice job of decorating it with a cabin theme. The location is beautiful. Right on the lake with views of the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac island. Great location for star gazing and loved the fire pit. We would definitely rent here again! Thanks to the owners and property manager for making our visit to Northern Michigan so special.

The entire process from beginning to end was so easy and straightforward. Easy to reserve, good communication on the payment process and the rental agreement The cabin was exactly as it appeared online. It was so clean and it provided everything we needed for our stay. The community fire pit area was so perfect and provided a great place to end our busy day. The property of all five cabins was so nice, the lawn was trimmed and looked so pretty. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place to friends and family. It is for sure five star.

Perfect for couples who just wanna chill
We so enjoyed the peace and quiet! This cabin has everything you’d need! We spent most of our time sitting on the 2nd-floor balcony and reading. It rained one afternoon, and we were cozy in the front room on the couch. Loved the soft breeze. The cabin is decorated in a super “Up North” theme, from birch chairs for the kitchen table to the moose bed cover! Really, really clean and homey. My husband wants it ☺️

Did Not Disappoint!!!

Beautiful cottage right in the straits
We had an amazing week. So close to everything. The cottage has everything you need and it was spotless and perfect for my husband, son and I. Spectacular view and it was great getting know know all our “neighbors”. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great vacation rental.

Really enjoyed for the most part. Need to update a few details, like No beach area, and need wifi connection. Personally didnt like the idea of having to bring own linens,towels, ect. But glad we did since the dryer didnt work.

Beautiful and Relaxing Cabin
We enjoyed this cabin tremendously and the area as well. Loved hearing the waves right outside the window and enjoying coffee on the deck in the mornings. Campfires in the evening was always a wonderful way to end our days. Perfect distance from Mackinaw City for bike riding or Cheboygan for necessities from WalMart, etc.
