This was a very upsetting experience. I hope anyone reading this will please do us the favour of reading our previous reviews. I have not responded to Janet Scotland’s previous negative review, but now I feel I must. Mr and Mrs Scotland seemed to love the house and their room after arrival. They were offered a glass of wine. They were going to go get a fish and chip dinner, although Mrs Scotland said she couldn’t eat fried foods. I offered recommendations in nearby Leamington. They went to their room, and from the living room we could hear a lot of banging. Then Mr Scotland came and and said his wife wasn’t feeling well, they were leaving for home. I asked if it was her stomach and he said it was her throat. Mrs Scotland came down the hall, seemed angry and asked what she owed us. I said $175.30. She said online it said $100, and I explained that $100, plus tax, was for one person. Two people is $55 more, plus tax. Mrs Scotland was very upset at this practically slammed $170 on the counter and stormed out, while Mr Scotland apologized. I have no idea what happened here. Mrs Scotland was obviously not ill. We had quite a pleasant conversation upon their arrival. Mr Scotland was a very amiable person. Our B&B has an excellent reputation and is very highly reviewed, we enjoy our business and have guests who return frequently. On this date, this room was requested several times. Supplies had been bought. The guest was puzzlingly uncommunicative and very unpleasant. Mrs Scotland had emailed me twice to tell me it was her birthday. I had bought a bottle of Prosecco and a card and was going to give it to them to enjoy by the fire that evening. I’ve always said we were so lucky, we never had a guest we wouldn’t welcome back… unfortunately, Mrs Scotland was that person. Thankfully, the lovely guests in our other suite that night were exactly what it took to restore our faith in both guests and ourselves. As I said before, I did let the first negative review go by, but cannot let this unhappy person smear our efforts, reputation and pride in our twelve years of welcoming and rewelcoming guests to our lovely home.
