Our varsity baseball team had an incredible stay at this home. It truly had everything the boys needed to relax, recharge, and enjoy their time together. From the pool and hot tub to fishing right off the dock, plus kayaks, a paddleboard, and even cornhole, there was never a dull moment.Robert was an outstanding host—attentive, responsive, and genuinely interested in making our stay great. He even took the time to share tips on how to catch crappies and where to find bait, which the boys and chaperones really appreciated during their downtime.The property created the perfect atmosphere for team bonding and making memories off the field. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely recommend it to any group looking for a fun, comfortable, and well-equipped getaway.

We rented this house for my husband’s 70th birthday and invited all of our kids and grandkids. This house was perfect! There was plenty of room and large spaces to gather. The outside areas are amazing including a pool, hot tub, and fire pit, all looking at a gorgeous view of the lake. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely come back again! Thanks!

This house was on a perfect lakeside setting. Serene, peaceful, peeks at wildlife and fishermen out on this portion of the lake. The home was well stocked with staples. There were shopping areas nearby. The owner was quick to respond to a few questions we had. If we are in that area again I would definitely check to see if this home was available.

The property has a beautiful kitchen and two very nice master suites. The remaining bedrooms are small and two if the bathrooms are outdated. The actual property did not reflect photos posted on site. Landscaping is very overgrown and made walking to front doot and pool area difficult.

Okay but could have been excellent

First of all the house had lots of space to accommodate 20. Plenty of parking on both levels of the home. The home was stocked with all the basics. Beautiful views of the lake and access to lots of local stores and restaurants. This review could have been excellent but the first two days in the home the heat was absolutely miserable. For someone who keeps their home cool, 80 degrees was very overwhelming. The online listing did not state that the thermostat could not be lowered below 75 or this home would have been a no go for us. Especially during a week of sweltering hot weather. As soon as we arrived the pool guy and his son were there over four hours trying to fix a leak in the pool. We were able to use the pool eventually as the owner allowed us to keep the water hose running the entire trip. Beware for families with smaller children the pool area could be very dangerous with lots of broken tiles and concrete which could cause falls. We also planned our meals around being able to use the grill as well as the outside fire pit stated in the listing. Well the grill is only the shell of a grill. The whole bottom was missing and is a huge fire hazard. The fire pit is not a firepit. It is a broken adobe pot. Also a fire hazard. There is a deck outside one of the main master bedrooms that has sunken boards. The shrubs are so overgrown they are almost over the home. Lots of maintenance and this place could be amazing. Anyone in a wheelchair is very limited to pool and lake.

Wonderful home

The house was wonderful and out family had a great time there. The whole property was beautiful. We had never been to Charolette and enjoyed the city very much. Our host responded to our questions and calls in a timely matter. Only recommendations I would have is better instructions about hot tub and pool so we didn’t have to call about those (like turning on heat for pool) It would have been nice to have a few pool items (floaties) but really enjoyed the lake items provided the kayaks and paddle boards. We would stay here again if we get back to NC. Thanks for the memories.

Lake Wyly Rental

Big Lake Wylie House!

This is a great property with plenty of parking on each side of the house for all our family. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice and there is a good stock of towels and beach towels to use. The dock access was great and fun for tubing, kayaks, paddle boat and paddle board (although there were supposed to be two, and the one there is missing a fin). The only issue we had was having to re-allocate rooms based on the steep spiral staircase to get to the basement apartment rooms, as they were not accessible for our older family to navigate. The house was very clean and check out was easy!

Family vacation

The house was a perfect scenario for toddler through grandparents. The basement had a gaming area And pool table which help entertain. The house had a crib which helped. The house did have steps that went to a pool as well as to the hot tub. The setting was perfect to see the sunset on the lake. Everybody had an awesome time. The owners communicated very well leading up to the visit to include during the visit as well as we were leaving. Great communication.

The house is huge and had plenty of space for our families with parents, & college age kids. . The pool was nice and had plenty of chairs. The owner was very responsive for the couple of minor things that came up (lightbulbs, etc). Lots to do with the game room, hot tub, lake, pool, cornhole, etc.

Great for Large Groups

This house was just as described and it was great for large groups. Everyone was together and able to have their own privacy in their rooms if needed. The younger crowd enjoyed being downstairs in the basement area and the game room. The older crowded enjoyed sitting in the chairs while looking out at the lake. Would book again.

House floods downstairs - Owner lies about refund

Our family of 18 stayed the last week of July. Our first day, we met our hosts who seemed genuinely nice. We mentioned that earlier in the day, after a short rain, the downstairs had water coming in at the baseboards. Mr. Kirby said he knew there was a problem and told us he was having someone to come out that week to “take care of it.” That same night there was a severe thunderstorm and water came in steadily for an hour throughout the entire downstairs. Everything had to be picked up and towels put down to mop up all the water. The next morning, we spoke with VRBO about leaving and they offered to move us. Moving meant 18 people repacking all their belongings as well as $800 in groceries we had just bought. After talking with the owner about our concerns of MOLD (from previous water damage) and the possibility of another thunderstorm, we agreed that we would move everyone upstairs and in return he would refund us the equivalent of 2 nights. Mr. Kirby told us he had insurance he would file a claim and not to worry “I have the money”. We have NEVER received a REFUND or a response after I called, texted and emailed them letting them know we would accept less than the agreed amount. Drypro and the owner did come by during the week and put a 3rd dehumidifier downstairs. I guess they are ok with the house taking on water as long as you empty dehumidifiers and mop. You should note there are no pics of the downstairs bathroom and I recommend you ask why.
