Pet friendly ,Just a block from beach access, This is a cute house with a fenced in backyard and view of a pond. The house was very clean and decorated as a beach house. It has a single car garage and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. We met several of the neighbors who were very friendly and informative. Neighbors gave our Beagles treats as well. It is only 2 miles from the center of Folly Beach and there is shopping and restaurants everywhere. Our favorite was Loggerhead Grill. Food was great. The grocery store is just 5 miles up the road and had fresh meats and seafood. Great location. Sam our host was very good to work with and checked with us to see if we needed anything. Surfers are all around this area and fun to watch at the Oceans access a block from the house. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect location

We had a wonderful time with our dogs at Sunset Shack. This location was perfect for us - close to the beach and just far enough from town to get some privacy and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the waves. We rented bikes during our stay which provided easy access to town for food/drinks/live music. It was also a great way to explore the island. Sam was easy to communicate with and made check-in a breeze. The house was perfect for our needs and the fenced yard for the dogs was a huge bonus. Also appreciated the doggie gate and dog towels they provided! Highly recommend the Sunset Shack!

Great find!!

This place was perfect! Quiet area, short walk to the beach, great fenced in back yard for our dogs, beautiful sunsets over the pond, fantastic bird watching, and a very clean and organized house! We thoroughly enjoyed our January stay.

More than we ever expected!

The listing/description is completely accurate. You will not be disappointed. Everything was spotless. Huge amount of indoor/outdoor space. Nicely fitted-out fenced garden next to a freshwater pond. Sunsets were amazing, as we watched the view and the birds...and the birds watched us back. Very quiet. Located on a short dead end street. Half block to the beach,. We're looking forward to our next vacation here.

Amazing

The sunset shack exceeded expectations for sure. The space is nicely laid out, it’s very roomy and clean. It was just 2 adults celebrating birthdays, but I could easily see my family of 5 enjoying this place! Love the private back patio and took advantage of the grill and outdoor shower. Grateful for the nice cool A/C as some days were HOT! LOVE the beach here just 1/2 block down the street. Not at all crowded. Nice bike ride to town. Sam was super easy to work with, extremely responsive and great about checking in to make sure we were good. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!

Excellent Place

We had an amazing stay at the Sunset Shack. Our dogs loved the fenced in backyard to run in. The proximity to the beach is a short walk. Very clean and accommodating. We definitely would stay again.

Awesome Place!!

My family and I stayed at sunset shack for a week. What a nice place. It was super clean, modern and is only a 2 minute from the beach. The house was fully furnished and had a lot of extras such as beach chairs, bogie boards, linens,etc. Sam, the host, is great. There was a lot of communication and he made sure that we were happy. I definitely would like to return.

Relaxing stay in Folly

We had a great stay at the house. We loved being a half block from the beach, and the tunnel of foliage leading right to the sand was amazing. It was not very crowded at all; definitely more surfers than I'd ever seen, which was pretty cool. The house itself was very clean, and we loved having the fenced-in backyard for our pooch. The garage, and not having a blazing hot car, is a nice bonus. All the basic amenities were definitely covered. Sam was very easy to deal with, and was very responsive to any questions.

Great pet-friendly house and location!

This is a fantastic pet-friendly house and location. The house is nicely decorated, clean, spacious, and comfortable. So many small touches and conveniences make a huge difference! The fenced-in back yard and pond was a great place to unwind with our dog and barbecue at the end of the day. The beach access is a very short, easy walk and since we were there in April, we could take our dog to the beach with us. The neighborhood is peaceful with beautiful homes and friendly neighbors, and if you sleep with the windows open, you will hear the rolling ocean waves all night. Sam was very attentive and a pleasure to work with. We already rented another one of his (larger) homes for next year!

The house is clean and well furnished. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs, and the island and surrounding areas had amazing restaurants. Beach access is at the end of the street (3 houses down). The owners were great to work with. Everything is well labeled and well communicated . I highly recommend Sunset Shack for anyone staying on Folly Beach. We didn't bring our dog, but it is incredibly pet friendly.

Let's pretend life is normal!

We had a very relaxing time, inside & out, enjoyed the herons around the adjacent pond. Dogs appreciated the fenced yard. Beach access at end of the street. All of us enjoyed strolling on the beach! The beds were comfy, the kitchen well-equipped. Already planning a trip back & our neighbors plan to stay also.

My family & dog had a great Thanksgiving staying in Folly!

The house was fantastic! It was so clean and had everything you could possibly need. Sunset Shack is perfect for a family of four or even six using the daybed. The fenced in yard is large and great for your pet. There is a beautiful pond behind the house with incredible sunsets. The owner was easy to communicate with and ready to help you. Will definitely use this house again! Plus it is only a very short walk to beach.

Such a peaceful place!!

Sunset Shack was clean and comfortable The pond added an interesting view with lots of fish jumping and occasional bird swooping in for a meal. Sam was very helpful and always ready to answer questions. Hopefully I’ll be there again!!

Fantastic Folly Experience

The SunsetShack is all that’s advertised and more! This was the perfect beach home for us to enjoy our first trip to Folly. The walk to the beach is super short and easy. Once on the beach, the 13th street beech access is not crowded at all with flat sandy beach and waves awesome for boogie boarding. We were so impressed by the house! It was so clean! Comfortable beds, bedding, towels, use of beach chairs and other beach goodies make this a must stay...add to this the enjoyment of being in the backyard with our pup experiencing the pond views:seeing the fish jump, watching the wading birds, and of course the sunsets! Can’t wait to visit Folly again!

Nearly Perfect. Will return to this property!

Sam is a great host! We felt right at home, even before check in. Sam had everything we could possibly need, including beach chairs and beach goods - a nice surprise. The setting with the pond is great and literally a short walk to the beach, as advertised. The cottage was clean and cozy. Plenty of room and neat character to the property. We go to Folly Beach because we love the vibe and rustic nature; the Sunset Cottage fits right in with that Attached garage is a great feature. It was like renting from a family member without any of the added hassle or obligations! We felt at home for our week. Thanks Sam!! Great job!

Must stay!! Beautiful home and property. The owner was very accommodating to our family, including the 4 big dogs we take every where. Best beach access on folly. Pond is beautiful. Fenced in front and back yard. Very private. Proposed to my girlfriend at sunrise on the beach. Kids and dogs loved the house. We will definitely be back next year.

Very, very clean! We didn’t get to enjoy the beach too much, because the weather was quite cool. But we liked the back yard, where our dog could explore without worrying about him getting out. It was a nice, comfortable house, and we thank you for renting to us.

Loved Our Stay at Sunset Shack

We loved our 11 day stay at the Sunset Shack! The pond with the great sunsets, fish jumping and birds, was very calming. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard, and the neighbors were very friendly. Sam is a great owner and when we had a minor problem one evening, he was there to fix it immediately. The restaurants and bars in Folly are a lot of fun, and all food was delicious. The only negative thing I have to say is we didn’t stay long enough!!! Enjoy your stay!
