We left one night early due to two different sightings of cockroaches within the home. One was on the couch our first evening there. The second was on my INFANT DAUGHTER’S bed when I went to check on her. Also, the couch and living area floor was heavily stained and smelled of mold and vomit. We did not feel it is safe to keep our daughter there one more night. We would like at the very least, a refund for this last night that we were unable to stay safely. We are so disappointed as our sister is here from Italy and we planned this trip with her to spend time with her niece for the first time.

Tolles Haus in traumhafter Lage, voll ausgestattet - bis auf Waschmaschine/Trockner. Außenbereich mit vielen unterschiedlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt.

This property is directly on the beach BUT has not been maintained and is very run down. While they did leave a bottle of wine and cookies for us in the "bungalow," it did not make up for our overall poor experience. The roof leaked into the main bedroom on the second day of our stay and my family member had to sleep on the couch. I messaged as soon as we discovered the issue and was given an automated response. I called the number given to us and they stated someone would be out the next day (Saturday) to fix it. I followed up the next morning and was then told, nothing could be done at this time but someone would be out with towels and bedding so someone could sleep on the couch bed. This was a very expensive rental, ie 600/night for someone to sleep on a couch. I was then told that the "team would review my case" to provide me with a credit for the trip. I have contacted them twice since the trip and 10 days later, they are still reviewing it. All that being said, avoid this rental. It is not maintained. We also experienced ants in the bathroom. And while it is beachfront, there is no direct beach access from the "multi-level deck." You need to use the public access at the side of the house. In addition, I was asked to review the property several times and offered a starbucks giftcard for my review, so be weary of the overly nice reviews. At least when I booked, it was very well rated and that seems to be why.

We love Folly Beach. This property is very small and dated. The outside, deck area is very nice. The interior needs better attention and updating. Also, the property does not have a washer/dryer, which was sort of an issue for us.

Thanks for a great week!

My family and I loved our stay. The location was absolutely perfect with a beautiful view of the beach from the deck and very easy access. There was one minor plumbing issue that was dealt with immediately. Would gladly stay again!

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet, relaxing and only a hop, skip and jump away from the beach. I love to cook and this home had a well stocked kitchen with just about everything. Beds were comfy, two full bathrooms is always great with kiddos. Check in and out was smooth and we had no issues. I'll be back!

Grandson's 25th birthday trip

We liked being closed to the ocean and the neighborhood. The house was perfect for the 3 of us. Our only issue was lack of wifi - apparently a AT&T problem that was not resolved during our stay. Oh yes and the weather. Lots of rain but guess we can't expect the property to fix that.

Heavenly

We arrived and were charmed instantly. The Folly Beach area is relaxing and laid back. The swing allowed us to enjoy the ocean breeze and the surfers, all without leaving the property. The adjoining beach access is lovely and provided a shady stroll to the ocean strand. The house itself was perfect for us. We felt instantly at home away from home. Great place on a great shore

We just had two people (1 couple) but it would fit 4 just fine. Great decks looking out to an expansive beach. We were off season (End of Nov) so it was very quiet and peaceful. TV was a bit hard to figure out and some windows didn't lock, but we felt very safe.

Perfect Low Key Getaway!

This house was a real gem. It could use a few updates here and there but it had rustic charm and an amazing location. We spent most of our time on the huge deck overlooking the ocean and watching happy surfers. The beds were super comfortable and it was perfect for our girls weekend. I appreciated the level of communication and ease of check in and out. We would definitely come back here again!

The Perfect Getaway

The house is charming and located in a great neighborhood. The view from the back deck is amazing - your own private beach front view! Comfy bed, hot water, good cool AC, and WiFi. It’s a short 5 min drive to downtown Folly where the shops and restaurants are. Do not hesitate to book this property. It’s wonderful.

Beachfront; very clean, great bed, good location with privacy, well equipped kitchen. Thoughtful welcome gift, good outdoor space and screened in porch, but very old property, outdated, old furniture, really need a new couch,& very poor internet connection(in and out reception)

Maybe it’s due to the hurricane winds, but we found the windows and sill above windows leaked during the rain storm in the master bedroom and living room, leaving the carpet wet/damp. Little red ants/bugs were in the master bedroom. Additionally there was dust clumps on the bed, side closest to the dresser. It’s unfortunate because the outside space is great

It’s All About The Deck

My best friend and I go to Folly every other year and we always stay here. It’s not the prettiest house on E. Ashley and it wouldn’t take much to refit the bathrooms and update the fixtures, furnishings and decor. But you don’t go to the beach to stay inside and we’ve always overlooked it, mainly because it has THE BEST DECK! Surrounded by foliage and flora, it’s nestled within the [protected] dune with an unobstructed view of the beach/ocean perfect for laying out all day and incredible stargazing at night. Secured access to beach directly from the deck would be great but one can hardly complain when the public boardwalk is right next to it. This was our third trip and there will definitely be a fourth.
