We had several maintenance issues (2 of which should have been addressed before we arrived-malfunctioning electronic lock and pool pump outage) but the service from the East Island team was prompt and effective with each text. Great stay!

2024 Family Beach Week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Sand Serenity is a GREAT beach house. Plenty of room for our 8 adults and 5 grandkids. Being oceanfront is important as the grandkids like to go down to the beach, but often want to come back to the pool or get something to eat. The table seating 12 was great for family dinners. We had a few minor maintenance issues, but East Islands took care of them within a few hours.

New Family Memories

We just spent a week in this beautiful home with our whole family! No one wanted to leave when our week was over. Our six children and five grandchildren really enjoyed the home, pool and beach. It was so easy to go from the beach to the pool with any one of the grandchildren. We had a few minor issues and the property manager was very responsive and was at the house within fifteen minutes. We rented umbrellas and chairs which was a huge help when bringing the kids to the beach. The house was clean and every bedroom had a bathroom! All in all we had a memorable week and look forward to coming again next year

Only visible imperfection is that the glass door facing the ocean in the primary bedroom is cracked. If that were repaired the house would be flawless. We are very hopeful to return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 4th year spending a week in August in IOP. It was by far the best house and we hope to rent it again next year. It was laid out beautifully with both communal and private spaces for our multi generational group. The pool was lovely and the beach close and beautiful. It is also the perfect distance from the town center. Close enough to walk in for a drink or a bite to eat but far enough away that the music on Friday night can barely be heard. It was also incredibly well equipped. Minor maintenance issues were handled immediately and professionally.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is in the BEST location in IOP and the bedrooms are set up perfectly for our needs with 4 couples and 2 kids. We had a few minor maintenance issues (pool heat wasn't working, air conditioning upstairs wasn't working and one of the beds had the middle support missing) but they were all taken care of by Monday. Shout out to Tim who was exceptional and kept us updated and fixed our issues quickly. We kitchen is very well equipped and the 2 dishwashers and many garbage/recycling bins in the kitchen were so helpful. The 2nd refrigerator downstairs is also great. When we come back to IOP, we will definitely rent this house again.

Beautiful home!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this home. We rarely return to the same property more than once, so that says something about how much we enjoy it. The location is perfect. Three families stayed together. This home is ideal for that. The only negative to us is the heat on the pool/spa. It was very temperamental and we had a difficult time getting it to consistently work. For the amount we spent on it that was disappointing. The home is starting to show some age and could use some minor updates. Several things that were broken three years ago are still broken. But overall we would highly recommend! We didn’t want to leave.

Relaxing in the Perfect Location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 816 gives you the perfect spot to immediately get into relaxation mode. Spacious bedrooms and ensuites and a terrific bunk room give quiet time for 5 couples or multiple families. Well stocked kitchen worked great for family meals. Having the pool/hot-tub/grills/ping-pong-pool table downstairs gives you everything you need...and just steps from the ocean. LOCATION - a casual walk to dinner, drinks, coffee and even the grocery store make this location perfect. A power outage was quickly handled by mgmt with a visit and breaker box reset. Golf cart rental made visiting the entire island accessible, if you want to explore. Bike rentals worked for those that wanted to do some pedaling. This house is in the perfect location for Isle of Palms!

Lovely location difficult vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It started out going wrong because I had injured my back just before arriving slinging suitcases around. So no one's fault but my own that I couldn't swim or go to the beach the entire 3 weeks.The staff at East Island has always been extremely responsive but when the issue of next year's rental became complicated they ghosted me and would not return phone calls or emails just to answer one question. In the end I worked it out for myself but it was discouraging that no one would talk to me especially after the last 2 years of finding them extremely helpful.

It exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked in the front door. It was spacious, comfortable, clean, bright and welcoming. The kitchen was very well stocked with glassware, dishes, utensils, 2 dishwashers (which we used daily!) and plenty of room for several people to prep meals at the same time as well as a large dining table which could seat 12. The weather was cool at times during our stay, so the 1 click fireplace was a lovely addition each morning and evening. We did not use the pool, but we heated the Spa on a few of the clear nights. The elevator was perfect for luggage, groceries and guests who had difficulty managing the stairs.We loved the location. Having that beautiful pristine beach to walk on as well as watching the spectacular sunrises over the ocean each morning never got old. We took advantage of walking to the local restaurants (Acme Low Country Kitchen, Sea Biscuit and Cafe' Paname!) and a 5-minute drive to Harris Teeter's grocery and Simmons Fish Market was perfect. We golfed at Wild Dunes and Dunes West which were 12-20 minutes from the house. Don't miss Sullivan's Island, Fort Sumter and a carriage ride in Charleston is a must!The property management was superb! If we had any questions, they would respond immediately. For example, the Keurig machine quit working and they had a new replacement for us within hours! We had 4 different groups (4-9 people) of friends and family stay each week of the month with us. Everyone loved this place as much as we did. We would certainly recommend Sand Serenity for the best vacation spot ever!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The broken elevator was a huge inconvenience and not knowing until we arrived was disappointing. The property is generally clean, but the stairs to the garage are very dirty, full of cobwebs and dead bugs. The house needs some love and freshening up. We have stayed here at least four times and it is starting to look a little tired. The glass door in the upstairs master bedroom has been cracked for several years.

Great house!

The house was wonderful- had 14 people in our group. Plenty of room for all. Kitchen was well stocked with loads of dishes, silverware, etc. we had a couple minor issues (smoke detectors going off randomly) but they were handled quickly. Would love to stay there again next year but we needed an earlier week and unfortunately it was already booked. Kids really enjoyed the pool - the close proximity to the beach made it easy to go back & forth.

Awful Rental Agency

I would never rent from this agency again. We had so many issues with the home and the agency was useless. Our biggest issue was the lack of a/c in the upstairs. Every morning the a/c broke down and was inoperable and then would mysteriously come back on late in the evening. We have two young children who would have to nap and go to bed in 80 degree temperatures. The agency was fully aware of the situation and did not fix the problem until the day we left. In addition to the a/c, the fan in the upstairs master bedroom was broken, the main dishwasher was broken and the tv in a guest room was inoperable. Again, the rental agency did nothing. The home was not cleaned well and we found random items throughout the home left by previous visitors. Overall it was not a good experience. On the positive side, the home is located near town (next to public beach access) and has a beautiful view. On face value it’s pretty and has a good layout. I wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids due to the lack of gates and brightness of rooms but it could work for older kids.

The bedrooms were all bright, airy, and beautifully furnished, each having their own large full bathrooms, including the spacious kids' bunk room (which thoughtfully had a tub instead of only a shower). This made it so easy for multiple families (with a few kids) to share the home. There were 2 more desirable bedrooms that opened onto the upper balcony, but there were really no UNdesirable rooms.Everything was spotless. We spent loads of time on the deck watching the waves and surfers, and swimming in the pool which had a shallow, wide step perfect for our small kids. It was a super short walk down the private boardwalk to get to the beach, and tons of chairs, pool toys, boogie boards, sand toys, and even a couple of rolling carts were under the deck. The beach did not get too crowded despite being right next to a public access -- the crowds seemed to thicken on the beach in front of the bars a couple blocks away. We could easily walk to that area and enjoy a frozen cocktail or ice cream, but appreciated the peacefulness of the beach in front of this home.The elevator was a nice touch -- although we had no need from an accessibility standpoint, it was still convenient for unloading and loading our cars from the garage below. There was also ample parking.The kitchen was well equipped and included 2 dishwashers and an additional drink fridge.The only minor negatives were that there were quite a lot of ants on the pool deck (and going into the pool) the first day, but East Island responded quickly with an effective natural spray. They did start to come back towards the end of the week, but it wasn't a huge problem for us at all (which is why we did not reach out again).
