  • La Petite Maison is a beautiful rural two double bedroomed renovated cottage, suited to meet the needs of busy people looking for peace and quiet. Situated within a 200 year old farm, (now non working) and located in the department of Mayenne in north of the region of the Pays de la Loire with its spectacular landscapes in the north and vast vineyards to the south. The house is 2kms from the historic town of Lassay-les-Chateaux which boasts one of the finest examples in France of a fortified medieval chateau. The town has many winding streets amongst which can be found examples of medieval living all situated just off the main market square where you will find local shops, bars and restaurants. This is an ideal base for couples and friends seeking walking or cycling holidays in wonderful countryside or alternatively just a relaxing break from modern life!

Charmante petite maison

Logement très propre et correspondant bien à la description. Nous avons bien profité de la maison et de son jardin au calme. Les hôtes sont discrets et nous on laissé des petites attention avec la panier de bienvenue et des petites friandises pour notre chat. Lieu parfait pour passer un WE au vert et visiter la région.

Just perfect

A lovely place to stay, the cottage is very comfortable and homely. Everything thing you need and lots of information of where to go and what to do. Beautiful countryside with many interesting walks and a lovely garden to relax in. Sandra and Paul are the perfect hosts.

Just Lovely!

We would definitely come back. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. The setting is beautiful. It’s located walking distance from a lovely little town and easy driving distance from the sights we wanted to visit. Could not have enjoyed it more.

Fabulous Cottage

We stayed in this amazing cottage for 6 nights, everything you need for your stay is here. Very nicely decorated, luxury bedding & furnishings. Welcome pack to get you started was appreciated. The hosts Sandra & Paul were very welcoming and made our stay with our dog Rosie amazing.

Simply the best!

Wonderful property in quiet location with hosts who were very welcoming. Lots of places to visit in the area but the best bit was getting back to sit in the garden with a drink or two in the late afternoon. We were blessed with excellent weather for the first week in October which made the whole fly by. We have taken gite holidays for over thirty years and this was the best one ever.

Lovely gîte with beautiful private garden

We really enjoyed our stay. Sandra and Paul were excellent hosts and had plenty of suggestions for walks, supermarkets, restaurants and places to visit. The house is comfortable and spotlessly clean with lots of homely touches. We loved the beautiful private garden , a real treat in the evening after a day out. The Mayenne area is really quiet with some really interesting towns and sights. We loved the Roman town of Jublans and Sainte Suzanne . The old railway lines are perfect for walking or running and the Velorail is great fun.

Fantastic Stay

My partner and I spent a short week at Chantrigne and loved every second of it. The house is really welcoming and furnished with everything you would need in the kitchen. The location is really peaceful and the locals are really friendly. Paul and Sandra seem to have thought of everything and the welcome basket meant that we didn't need to stress on arrival about finding a shop. We will for sure be looking to go back.

We stayed in the amazing 2 bedroom cottage at Sandras and Pauls. It turned out to be the most beautiful cottage with lovely gardens. The home is so well equiped, the kitchen is amazing! Sandra and Paul were so helpful and ful of great information. My sister and brother in law joined us and we had a wonderful time. Will be looing to stay there agaiin soon!

Peace and quiet

Beautiful property, sparkling clean, well equipped with absolutely everything you could wish for. Paul and Sandra are the perfect hosts; helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The grounds are lovely and the area is steeped in history, we especially liked Lassay Les Chateaux and Sainte-Suzanne. But the very best bit…..? The peace and quiet was what struck me most and just what we needed.

4 jours merveilleux

"La petite maison" est un gite exceptionnel décoré avec beaucoup de goût. La literie est de très grande qualité, pas un bruit juste le chant des oiseaux, le souffle du vent, l'âme de la maison. Le jardin est le lieu idéal de déconnexion et est très bien équipé. L'accueil par les propriétaires Sandra et Hugues est très chaleureux, et ils sont à la fois présents et discrets.

A real getaway from it all location

We had a wonderful holiday at La Petite Maison. The cottage was very clean and well equiped with everything you could possibly need. But it was Sandra's attention to detail that turned it from just being another holiday cottage into a real home from home. Sandra and Paul are extremely helpful and friendly, not intrusive but just good to know they are around should you need help with anything. Not fogetting Benji one of the friendliest dogs we have ever met, (He didn't even bark when we arrived on our first night, but seemed more content just to wag his tail and be petted). We would certainly hope to return one day and would recommend it highly. Peter and Margaret

Mooie omgeving voor vakantie met hond

We hebben een goed verblijf gehad, vriendelijke hosts, Het huisje is mooi, volledig ingericht en erg schoon.Het ligt in een zeer rustige landelijke omgeving. Daardoor is het een mooie plek voor een vakantie met de hond en heeft onze trouwe viervoeter het zeer naar haar zin gehad. Helaas hadden wij koud en regenachtig weer en konden daardoor (bijna) niet gebruik maken van de tuin (wel van de houtkachel). De tuin is prachtig, super groot en waar je met mooi weer heerlijk kunt vertoeven. Het huisje is authentiek, je waant je in een boerderijtje van 200 jaar geleden, kleine raampjes, en mooie lage balkenplafonds (oppassen voor je hoofd!) en niet erg groot. De wc is boven in de badkamer met een heerlijke regendouche! De bedden zijn niet al te breed (140 cm). Om de tuin te bereiken kan dit door de voordeur via een poortje of door de kelder. Beide trapjes zijn steil. Dit hadden wij niet goed bekeken bij het boeken, dus misschien handig om te weten. Lassay les Châteaux is een prachtig dorp, gezellig, mooi en authentiek. Ook de dorpjes Saint -Suzanne- Chammes, Domfront en Sant-Céneri-de-Gérei zijn geweldig. Een prachtige plek met heel veel rust, bijna geen verkeer en alleen zingende vogeltjes, zeer geschikt om te ontstressen.

A little slice heaven

Hosts Sandra and Paul are so welcoming, They added some lovely personal touches to what was already a delightfully peaceful haven. The cottage is beautiful and very well quipped and the gardens are glorious, wonderful to sit in and pretty to look at whatever the weather. We thoroughly recommend La Petite Maison and so does our dog Pepper!

Gezellig huisje

Leuk gezellig huisje met bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. De laatste dag gingen we nog naar Domfort. Een aanrader. Het huisje is niet geschikt als je niet goed ter been bent want je er zijn verschillende trappen. Voor ons geen probleem we hebben er genoten.

The stay in Chantrigné was wonderful. Sanda and Paul have prepared a very beautifully situated old stone house with a large lounge, lovely bathroom and two bedrooms for lovely holidaymakers. In the grounds behind the house table, chairs, deckchairs and with a small pond and lots of songbirds you could look out into the vast countryside in the evening and relax and also have breakfast in the morning (if the sun was shining). The surrounding area with small towns, cafés and opportunities for walking also adds to the relaxation. We would have liked to stay longer. The only critical point: the sun could have shone a little more often. Grit and Yves

Suuuuper gezellige cottage

Qua gezelligheid is dit huisje inderdaad 5 sterren waard !! Prachtig en super cosy ingericht met een perfect werkende houtkachel die het ganse huisje lekker warm maakt...Mooie herfstwandelingen in de buurt en een sympathieke ontvangst door de eigenaars ; kortom een aanrader !!!
