Awesome home in Galatas Greece

We had a fantastic experience with our house rental! Barbara, the host, made the entire process effortless, and her communication was excellent throughout. The highlight for our kids was undoubtedly the pool, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay and would highly recommend this rental to others.

Lovely Villa in great location

The villa is spacious and has a great pool for swimming in - deep water pretty much throughout. Barbara was lovely and gave us lots of tips to help us enjoy our stay. Elofonissa beach is a must and for those that like a challenging walk the Samaria gorge. Would recommend this villa and hope to visit again

Spacious and close to beach!

Barbara’s villa is lovely. It had lots of room for two families and everything you need for a relaxing visit. We all loved the pool, which has a shallow end and a great deep end for cannonballs. The place is a short jaunt from the beach and from several great restaurants. We enjoyed doing pilates on the second floor balcony with the ocean in sight!

Stunning villa, perfect host

Barbara, the host, cannot do enough for you. From organising airport transfers to taking us to the supermarket in her own car to stock up on provisions, organising for her aunt to cook us all an amazing meal one evening and providing us with anything we needed to know about the area. This villa was amazing, 5 star luxury with absolutely everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The lemon trees provided us with much needed lemons for our gin and tonics which we could sip on from multiple verandas overlooking mountains and a seaview. Thankyou Barbara for making our stay perfect 🥰

Terrific Home and Great Host

This was the best VRBO property we have stayed in. The pictures don't do it justice. It is so nice and easily absorbed the 5 of us with space to spare. The location is great with no major sights more than 20 minutes away by car. Barbara was an excellent host. She helped coordinate a scuba diving trip and saved us 100 euros on a private boat trip. Her restaurant recommendations were all excellent, from the casual breakfast to the fancy dinner. She set the standard for hosting a vacation property. Thanks so much for taking such good care of us Barbara.

Excellent stay

Upon arrival, my party was greeted very warmly by Barbara who offered a tour of the house. The living room offered a great space to settle down and enjoy some family time. All four bedrooms were very neat and clean, we had no complaints with sanitation. The bathrooms as well were cleaned thoroughly. All the amenities were in great condition and working; the pool, AC units, kitchen appliances, and bathrooms are in prime condition. The addition of Smart TV’s allowed for a better entertainment experience along with the Ping-Pong table. The Wi-Fi was very stable throughout the house. Our hostess, Barbara, was very attentive and widely available. She assured that our experience would be smooth; making sure breakfast was ready or assisting with any difficulties. Our experience overall was very pleasant and reliable. The house is a exactly as shown in the pictures and reviews. We greatly recommend.

Vacker och rymlig villa

Allt funkade toppen och vi hade en fantastisk semester mitt i varmaste juli. Det tar 10-15 min till bad och det är enkelt att ta sig till Chania som har mysiga restauranger och shopping. Rekommenderas!

Amazing vacation at Barbara's Villa!

We had an incredible stay at Barbara's villa. The villa is beautiful just like in the pictures, exceptionally clean, beds are very comfortable, the views are amazing. It has absolutely everything you will need to have a wonderful stay. There are great restaurants and wineries in the area, beautiful beaches, and Chania old town is just a short drive away. What made our vacation even better was Barbara's help with recommending amazing local restaurants, places to see, etc. Barbara’s communication is great, she is very responsive and helped us to make this trip even more memorable. Thank you Barbara for your hospitality! We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful property for a party of 8

We travelled here for a week in August, Barbara was a brilliant host and helped us to organise car hire as well as suggesting the best places to visit. The villa is really spacious with loads of room for 4 couples. Excellent restaurants and shops nearby as well as beautiful beaches to visit

Beautiful Villa, Great Location

We were greeted by Barbara, who was a great host. Always available for help and advice on where to go and where to eat. Also Barbara offered to take us to the supermarket to get our provisions on more than one occasion. We decided not to hire a car as we were a group of 7 friends who just wanted to relax together and enjoy the lovely weather. The villa is very comfortable with great outdoor space to eat and relax. The terraces around both levels are spacious and the neighbourhood is quiet. The villa has lovely views of the surrounding mountains and the sea. The pool is not very large but very deep, perhaps not recommended if you have young children but not an issue for us. However the local beach is only a 10 mins walk away together with shops, mini markets and a good choice of restaurants. The local sandy beach is lovely and clean, the sea crystal clear and the loungers and umbrellas are free as long as you buy drinks from the bar/restaurants behind. The bus stop for getting into Chania is at the bottom of the street and it only takes about 20 mins. Chania is a beautiful town with plenty to do and see. An excellent choice for a wonderful holiday.

Villa Vanelia Mare was perfect! From start to finish everything was grand. Barbara was great with communicating before, during, and after our trip. Next time we have more time to sit and relax and enjoy more of the many amenities at her beautiful home, we will be visiting again.

Lovely Villa, great host

Barbara made our stay most enjoyable, she’s a great host and couldn’t do enough for us, recommending local restaurants, attractions and even arranging an amazing boat trip. The villa is great with plenty of space and numerous dining options. All the bedrooms rooms have balconies and one has an en-suite with 3 other bedrooms sharing two bathrooms. A five minute walk to the local beach and loads of great dining options. We particularly liked Corinna Star. The only disappointment is the size of the swimming pool, not big enough to swim or stand in due to the depth, but the outdoor space is great.

Fantastic villa with a great host!

Our stay at Villa Vanelia Mare was wonderful - the property itself and also Barbara, the host, were amazing. The villa is perfect for big families like ours and Barbara went out of her way to make sure it had everything we needed for ourselves and our baby. As other people mentioned, she was kind enough to take us to the grocery store and also set up activities for us, call us cabs, and make recommendations. She was beyond friendly and helpful! The villa was gorgeous and clean and the pictures really don't do it justice! We loved the pool and the outdoor pizza oven and used both a lot. The villa had everything we needed. We did rent a car a few days in because we always wanted to leave at the busiest time to call a cab. If you just want to relax at the villa and walk to the little beach and several restaurants and shops nearby, you don't need one, but if you plan to travel around to Chania a couple of times I recommend renting a car. All in all, a great stay! We will recommend to our friends and also stay again if we visit Crete again.

Excellent place to stay while visiting Crete!

The Villa is as impressive as the pictures, everything is immaculate!, (I personally loved the tile detail in the bathrooms). Barbara is an excellent host, super helpful and sweet, the communication with her well in advance to our trip helped us to plan better our vacation. She suggested places to visit, order food and answered every question we had giving us a lot of detailed information, she even arranged our rental car which was delivered to the port at our arrival, we simply loved everything!

Beautiful, impeccably-clean villa. Gorgeous sea and mountain views. Comfortable beds. Convenient location. Small shops and restaurants within a 10-minute walk. Great supermarket within a 5-minute drive. The highlight of our stay was the Villa's manager, Barbara, who acted as our personal concierge, suggesting day trips, shops, beaches, vineyards - you name it. She was an absolute delight and we'd love to return someday soon! One week was not enough. xx

Notre séjour en Crête - Villa Vanelia Mare - LA CHANIA -

Nous avons passé un très très agréable séjour en famille dans cette magnifique villa au mois d'avril. Elle possède de grands espaces aussi bien en intérieur qu'en extérieur avec de nombreux salons avec vue à la fois sur la mer et la montagne : c'est magnifique. Cette villa est équipée également d'une piscine mais l'eau était un peu froide pour pouvoir en bénéficier pleinement à cette époque de l'année. Proche de la mer et des commerces et des restaurants, nous avons pu nous promener en bord de mer et faire nos achats en partant à pieds de la maison. De plus grands commerces se situent seulement à 5mn en voiture. Nous avons beaucoup visité la région et avons bien apprécié La Chania, les nombreux monastères (celui de Gouvernetou et sa belle ballade), la presqu'ile de Gramvousa avec Ballos et ses lagons ou encore le splendide Pelekanos au sud de l'ile avec ses belles plage de sable. Babara a été notre hôtesse durant ce séjour, elle était présente à chacune de nos demandes. C'est quelqu'un de très discret et très accommodante. Elle nous a bien renseigné sur la région, les restaurants ...
