Istros Villa review

Istros Villa had an amazing view from the balconies and pool area. It was very clean and updated. They had a small but very adequate kitchen. The sitting areas outside were lovely. We had a wonderful stay.

Das Haus war von der Lage und der Ausstattung perfekt. Leider war der Pool nicht zu benutzen da er sehr kalt war. Da wir in der Dunkelheit von einer Autovermietung ankamen, war die Wegbeschreibung unsinnig. Doch die Freundlichkeit eines Griechen half uns schließlich den abenteuerlichen Weg zu finden. Ende gut alles gut.😂

Istros Villa stay

Stunning view of the Souda Bay. Very private location. Great property. Overall a very positive experience. The only negative comments i would say relate too the remote roadway leading to the property which was single track and at places steep. Taxi drivers were not always keen to access the location. Also getting off the single track road onto the main highway was not for the faint hearted.

Fijn verblijf

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in dit nette huisje dat op een mooie locatie staat. Het uitzicht over Souda bay vonden we heel mooi. Het huisje is keurig schoon en er was een fles wijn en een paar boodschappen voor ons neergezet. Communicatie met de verhuur was prettig en zorgvuldig. Het zwembad is bescheiden maar heel fijn. Midden in de week werd er nog een keer keurig schoongemaakt en linnen vervangen. We vonden de bedden goed en ‘s nachts was het rustig. Met de huurauto konden we gemakkelijk naar Chania- de oude venetiaanse haven -voor het gezellige winkelen en dineren. Samengevat: fijn en comfortabel verblijf en zeker aanbevolen.

great view

this is a great modern property with lots of unique features. the property has a great pool and a superb view over Suda bay. seeing the cruise ships come in and leave was a daily highlight. the faclities are very good with the ability to cook a home meal and do a BBQ very welcome. There is a Gusto pod coffee machine and a filter machine to cater for your coffee desires. There are a large number of supermarkets within driving distance. The AC was free and did the job. The TV id not have much variety but we connected a mobile phone via a HDMI can could download/ play anything we wanted over the very adequate internet service. There was a cleaning service mid week which was nice even if not entirely necessary. Very close to Chania airport so we weer there within about 15min after picking up the hire car we hired through the recommendation from the property (hire car is essential) The bus service into Chania runs about every 2h and the bus stop is on the T junction about 100y towards Chania. Buy the tickets from the stop in town opposite the supermarket where the bus arrives/ departs. Any other less positives which are relatively minor- the property is down a rather steep hill and there are no restaurants within easy walking distance. The pool was quite cold during our stay which was strange given the air temperature. If this is a regular feature suggest installing some sort of solar heating plant for the pool. Very pedantic comments are to sharpen the kitchen carving knives periodically as all these sorts of properties have blunt ones. overall great property with very easy communication and service. Very much recommended.

Fantastic!!

The villa was far better than we imagined. The pictures are very true to how the villa looks. View was breathtaking and the out door area of the villa was just perfect for relaxing while the children played in the pool. You definitely need a car however restaurants, supermarkets and beaches were a short drive away. We took a boat trip from marathi beach which was just beautiful. Mrs Effi was very responsive to any questions that we had and the villa was filled with essential food items and a bottle of wine when we arrived. We would highly recommend and hope to visit the stunning island of Crete again one day!

Great villa in a peaceful and stunning location with all amenities you could ask for

Absolutely wonderful place! The villa was exactly as pictured. The view to the Souda Bay is absolutely stunning and you can truly enjoy the peace and quietness of this place. The Pithari village is small and peaceful and you can find small shops and cafes nearby. As you turn to your home street, there's a pastry & sweets store right in the corner and there you can enjoy great handmade ice creams and take all sorts of delicacies with you to enjoy in the villa. The nearby town of Kounoupidianá is also a wonderful place and the Bourakis restaurant there has great food. Chania is just 15 minutes away and easily accessible. There are a lot of nice beaches in the area too, and plenty of interesting places to explore. The villa itself has good amenities, appliances, the pool is nice and there's a grill (although we never ended up using it). Very comfortable. We opted not to have the cleaning in the middle of our stay due to Covid but we didn't really need it either, and the place was nice and clean when we arrived with some basic food stuffs and fruits already provided to us by the host. If there's something to make note of, there weren't many electrical outlets in the kitchen although there were a lot of appliances available for use in the cabinets but again, this is barely even worth mentioning. I can see myself coming back here in the future. This place was all I had hoped for and I enjoyed a truly relaxing holiday.

Wow, was ein schönes Haus.

Super Lage, traumhafte Aussicht und alles sauber und neu eingerichtet. Die Vermieterin und Eigentümerin sind sehr nett, beide standen uns jederzeit zur Verfügung. Am Abreisetag, konnte wir bereits vor 16uhr unsere Koffer in das Haus stellen 6bd der Kühlschrank war mit grundlegende Dingen gefüllt.

We had a wonderful week in Villa Istros. A lovely peaceful location and the villa is delightful.

Everyone we dealt with was so helpful and accommodating during the uncertainty of our visit. We would highly recommend this villa, we loved it so much and having the small pool was lovely during such hot weather. You would definitely need a car although the airport, Chania and beaches are not far to get to. The owners was so helpful and all the people of Crete are charming. We will definitely be back.

Schöne Villa mit toller Aussicht

Die Villa Istros besticht durch ihren super Meerblick in die Bucht von Souda. Das Haus, das Interieur und alle Einrichtungen sind in einem sehr guten Zustand und das ganze Haus ist tadellos sauber. Es wurde während unseres Aufenthalts mehrfach gereinigt, ebenso der Pool. Der Service von Valeria während und auch nach dem Buchungsvorgangs war klasse. Gleiches gilt für die Eigentümerin Efi, die uns trotz später Stunde, sehr, sehr nett begrüßt hat und auch während des ganzen Aufenthalts immer zur Verfügung stand. Auch der Kühlschrank wurde nach vorheriger Bestellung aufgefüllt, ein super Service. Insgesamt ein toller Urlaub in einer schönen Villa mit klasse Service durch Efi und Valeria. Gerne wieder! Klare Empfehlung!

Relaxing family holiday in a beautiful villa

We stayed at this property in August 2019 and the villa was everything as described. It is a stunning villa with amazing views, you could see the cruise ships come in most days over in Souda Bay! The owner of the villa was there to welcome us and had bought some essential supplies which were most welcome and a lovely surprise. The villa was beautifully decorated throughout and everything had been thought of. During our stay the villa was cleaned every 3 days and this included changing the bed linen and providing new towels. Normally at previous villa stays this is only done once a week so this was very welcome. During our stay the owner brought us homemade cakes, bread and biscuits which were just perfect. The coffee shop at the top of the hill was our favourite spot first thing on a morning to get a coffee and a cinnamon roll ! We hired a car for our stay (which is a must) and used this to visit the nearby beaches, the Manousakis winery, Stavros, Chania and many more places. We had a very relaxing holiday, perfect weather, beautiful villa in a perfect location.

Beautiful house.

Comfortable, clean house. Mrs. Effi was very helpful. The pool was becoming green very fast after being cleaned out. Something to improve. The cleaning lady came regularly. For the future would be good if she can have a fixed schedule and time in which she arrives to ensure people are not in the house while she is there.

Almost new property, well positioned for Chania although in a quiet rural setting. Owner available for any questions on the phone. Regular cleaning included and property very clean and well presented. We pre ordered some food items due to our late arrival time and these were available for our arrival. Only slight criticism would be pool is smaller than we anticipated from the photos. Suggest owner provides a information booklet on the area, emergency services and appliance instructions in English etc

Had a most beautiful 8 days stay at the lovely villa. Mrs Efi the owner was most gracious and caring, and the housekeeping (which is like every few days) was a big plus as most properties only have a cleanout once a week. Lovely jacuzzi, pool and villa in general. We will be back. Thank you very much Mrs Efi!
