Villa Splantzia was a great place to base out of for our trip to Crete. It was a wonderful location, close to everything in Chania and a warm and inviting place to just hang out. would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Location for Exploring Chania

This was a brilliant stay for our family (two adults and three kids aged 9 to 13). The house itself was deluxe, with all the creature comforts. It was well equipped and clean. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. The house was exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the small private garden as well. The location of the house is fantastic. It is quiet and peaceful but also right in the middle of old town Chania, next to St. Nicolaos Church and Splantzia Square, short walk to everything. So many great restaurants and interesting windy streets to explore all around. Old Venetian Port was about a 5 minute walk and interesting to visit. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and we loved Chania in general. Highly recommend.

Perfect Old Town Stay for Events

The pictures do not do this place justice. It was so spacious and comfortable and the backyard was transformed by the hosts into the most magical wedding venue. We had our ceremony and reception there with a chef hired by our host that was incredible. It is a fantastic location walking distance to everything but not so close that you get noise all night. The hosts are amazing and I highly recommend anyone to stay here with friends or family or for events!

Our Crete Adventure

This home in Chania was like a beautiful oasis. Such a surprise when you open the front gate, you go from the city to a beautiful relaxing setting .It had a beautiful kitchen- living room area where we could all sit and gather. All the bedrooms were wonderful with nice comfortable beds. It was situated in a great area an easy walk to the main harbor. We all loved Chania and this home made it even better.

Oasis in the middle of Chania

You would never know that there is a garden oasis in the middle of the city until you open the gate. It’s a lovely property with great living space indoors and out. Within walking distance of restaurants, sites and shopping. Easy drives to great beaches. I highly recommend!

Spacious hidden gem with great location

The owner, Peggy, went above and beyond our expectations. The house was spacious with all amenities needed to enjoy our stay. We were greeted with a fridge full of food, snacks, and homemade stuffed peppers and tomatoes made by Peggy (they were delicious). The house was in a prime location and only a 5-10 minute walk to the market, restaurants, shops and more.

Great house for many guests in the old town of Chania

We stayed at the house mid October. There were seven of us (two families). The layout lent itself for an upstairs downstairs private area for each family. It’s got lots of open space in the common areas and lots of character in its architecture! The two downstairs bathrooms are away from the bedrooms - right next to the kitchen (a bit of an odd set up). But everything was functional. The pomegranate tree in the yard was full of fruit - all for our picking! Peggy, the owner, was absolutely fabulous checking us in and providing us with startup groceries in the fridge! And she came by with bottles of virgin olive oil and cake - felt very welcomed. The house is tucked away two streets away from the church in Splatzia square and a 5’ walk to the Venetian harbour. Parking was on the street (first come first serve) and usually not an issue. Would recommend it!

Perfect Stay in Hania

We had an amazing experience at Villa Stanzia. The house was as beautiful, comfortable, and centrally located as described in other reviews. Peggy was extremely responsive, kind, and made us feel very welcome. She even made a delicious meal for our first night. Perfect location for exploring--close to everything but with a quiet garden. It was perfect!

This place is awesome! It is within walking distance of every tourist thing you need. Close to food, shopping, entertainment. The house is beautiful and provides a great place to relax. The host is amazing!!!! She is readily available to answer questions and help you find what you need. Great place for a large group! I will definately be using this location again!!

Authentic Experience in Great Location

Villa Splantzia was fabulous. There was so much room in the villa for our group of 4 adults. The furnishings were beautiful and we had a real sense of being part of the local community during our stay. The place is even nicer than the great pictures. Our two grown children each had their own bedrooms with plenty of space. There were many wonderful restaurants and lots of shopping within easy walking distance. Our walk to Old Town was an enjoyable 5 minute stroll through some picturesque pedestrian-only streets. The outdoor garden area was great – we spent some quiet, relaxing time sitting in the garden on the comfortable patio furniture. Peggy made us a fantastic traditional dinner for us to eat when we arrived – it was a very thoughtful gesture and so delicious – we were especially grateful as our flight was late! And, she had stocked the refrigerator with essentials to get us started on our stay. The owners were very helpful during the planning process – they answered all our questions promptly -- and helped organize taxis to take us to Samaria Gorge and also to the airport and the ferry port during our stay. If you’re looking for an authentic, beautifully cared-for, spacious, wonderful villa for your stay in Chania, this is a great place. We would strongly recommend it to anyone!

The garden and spacious ground floor were beautiful and very well kept. Kitchen outstanding with high end appliances. Generous and delicious starter food most welcome. Perfect location in the Old Town. Upper floor might be a bit too compact for some tastes.

Tolles Haus! Mit Garten! Unser Aufenthalt dort war wunderschön! Leider zu kurz! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett, fürsorglich, sehr darauf bedacht, dass man sich in ihrem bezauberten Haus wie zu Hause fühlen kann! Erstklassige Ausstattung, sauber, liebevoll, hochwertig - die Betten, Matratzen, Elektrische Geräte, Badezimmer! Wir wurden mit einem so leckeren Abendessen überrascht und mit einem gefüllten Kühlschrank empfangen, dass wir ohne weitere Einkäufe unserrn Aufenthalt in diesem wirklich wunderschönen Domizil genossen haben! Wir überlegen, dass wir mit unseren Familien dort wieder einen Aufentalt planen werden. Auf jeden Fall können wir diese Unterkunf weiterempfehlen!!!
