"We wanted a break from the city and we really enjoyed this house. We spent lots of time on the upper deck listening to the birds. The view is great. The mowed paths are many and great to walk around on - well marked too. The tree farm is cool to see. It’s a well designed little spot with nice touches of style. Very clean, comfy bed, pillows and sheets, lots of blankets too! We played the in-house guitar and the cajon drum as well. Fun time!"

"House was exactly what we were hoping for. Plenty of room inside and out for activities. Game room downstairs was very nice with pool, darts, fooseball table, and a large tv. The outdoor space was perfect for hanging out or simply enjoying a fire, or drink on the deck. There is a trail right behind the house that you can hike up. House was super clean. We would for sure go back."

"Me and my friends just spent our New Year's here for two nights. The man cave lives up to its name-- we spent a good deal of the weekend playing pool, darts, and card games, used the grill, and were just a few blocks off from some great food and liquor stores. I'd imagine any sort of group would enjoy coming here, though, given other advantages like access to trails and monuments in historic PA. Everything worked just as we wanted it to, and Mary's filled out the space to create a great place...

"Over all house was beautiful had everything we needed while being there. Only 25 min from famous reading outdoors has plenty of great parking for trailers will stay there again. Cons house has speakers but wasn’t working lucky we had our own radio also the heating system needs to be looked at. Thermostat being near kitchen down stairs was cold while upstairs was a sauna we end up leaving a day earlier was to hot upstairs to sleep."

"Black Diamond Retreat was a wonderful place for a family gathering. Both indoor and outdoor areas were spacious and gave everyone room to spread out and wander. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit every evening and playing corn hole and bocci outside as well. "This is a wonderful alternative to the (lack of) hotel options in Pottsville. The property is centrally located, clean very comfortable and sleeps many. Emily was a wonderful host who responded to every question within minutes. They have added a parking spot for the house which made everything easy. They are about to add the property next door as another option and we will definitely be staying at one of these for all future visits."
