It is a beautiful place that provides a spectacular view of the ocean. The view of Morro Rock from the kitchen window even makes doing dishes fun.

Family beach getaway

Loved our time at this lovely beachside cottage. Beautiful setting. So relaxing to listen and watch the ocean. Our family made memories at the firepit. We can’t wait to come back.

Thanksgiving at This Beachfront Home

We had a great time cooking Thanksgiving dinner in the large kitchen in this beach house. The windows are large and face the water. We enjoyed the ocean and beach from both inside and outside of the house. The direct access to the beach from the backyard is a real plus as is the firepit. The beds were comfortable and the property management service was excellent. We recommend this property!

Cayucos stay

Spectacular view from patio, kitchen, and front room. We've stayed here twice before. It's an older home, nicely maintained, well stocked with kitchen utensils which we like because we don't go out. I cook all meals. We will come back.

Beautiful location and views!

Everything was nice - clean, etc. Except we had an ant infestation on the second morning. There was no ant spray and the ant poison containers that were in a couple locations in the kitchen were empty. There should be ant spray available. Also, we arrived after dark and there were no lights on, and there is not address number on the outside of the house. We used the photo of the house to locate it. Should have a house number easily viewable.

Beachfront Bliss

We stayed here for the first time 5 years ago and I knew I wanted to come back. The house and location are perfect. We booked again for next October for 2 weeks and bringing our grandkids. The only issue we had was not enough toilet paper and there were no trash bags. One of the umbrellas on the deck broke off the base so we laid it down on the deck. It was rusted out. Looking forward to next year.

Stunning view

Loved the history of the cottage and reading the guest book. The kitchen was awesome and well organized. The furniture may have been the original couches and swivel chairs but were uncomfortable. We still loved it

50th Wedding Anniversary/Family Celebration

Fantastic view and outdoor space! Enjoyed fire pit and bar-b-que most nights. House well equipped with everything we needed. Great communication with management when had issue with Wi-Fi. Made lasting memories. Priceless!

Amazing Exterior .... Okay Interior

We knew from the photos that this house is all about the view. The deck and “yard” are fabulous …. Even better than reflected in photos. Great location, too … an easy walk to town. For us, it was a perfect, relaxing getaway. And I’m sure it’s great for families, too. We also knew to expected dated furniture (and a funky layout). We did not expect the furniture to be in bad shape. I tried sitting crossed-legged in one off the wicker chairs and ended up tipping over. (I was completely sober at the time.). And we noticed right off that the wicker supports in the matching chair were loose, and therefore, sitting in that chair was too uncomfortable (and unsafe). It’s “cozy” but a little sad. If the flooring & furniture could be updated, we would have jumped on this listing much quicker. And even paid a few more dollars. And really, they need to spend $30 on a new coffee maker — as others stated in reviews, it should not take a half hour to make 4 cups of coffee. Vacasa was very responsive when we contacted them about internet issues. (Well, after waiting on hold for 13 minutes and getting disconnected, they were.). Turns out the proplem wasn't the internet, it was that the email from Vacasa (as well as the label on the modem) had the wrong information. We eventually found it elsewhere and got it figured out. (Vacasa should also update parking information in their email …. It states to park on the driveway or in the garage … but the garage was converted to a bedroom long, long ago.). Also … for the exorbitant fee Vacasa charges, the dishwasher should have been unloaded (even if only a few dishes in it), there were no napkins, and not enough Kleenex. Plus …. One of the remote had dead batteries when we arrived. While this property may be slightly more affordable than others in the area (and we had booked last minute so we did not have many options), a little TLC would make it worth even more .. and truly a perfect getaway rental.

Great beach family vacation

After having to cancel our house in Tahoe at the last minute due to fires we quickly booked this little gem on the beach in cayucos- old cottage but clean !!! Thanks for turning lemon into lemonade!

Cute beach house

Cleaning lady needs to be replaced. Paper products should always be kept in dry cupboards. Not in areas that may leak and soak items like toilet paper. Running out of toilet paper during a vacation is displeasurable. Finding lots of dirty dishes is disgusting.

Filthy home in nice location

When we checked in my wife and I noticed that this place was not clean, meaning there was one of two things that happened: the previous renters kind of cleaned up the place or the Vacasa cleaning crew is horrible. There was dirty towels in the washing machine, clean towels in the dryer, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, old food caked on the stove, crumbs everywhere, body hair all over the sheets on the bed, trash in the trash can, one extra trash bag, no trash bags in the bathrooms, hand soap bottles clearly filled up with an inch or water to extend what little soap was left, an old water heater in the driveway, no shampoo, one bar of soap, one roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper. Did I mention the hair all over the bed? Short and curly hair. You get it. So I called Vacasa that management company who said it was too late to get a cleaning crew over. Keep in mind the listing says enhanced cleaning is done with at least 24 hours between customers because of the pandemic...and now they want to send in a new crew? Anyway, they said the local manager would call the next day to discuss. I called VRBO immediately after and they said I needed to give Vacasa time to respond and they would give me a call within 24 hours. The Vacasa manager texted me.... texted, not called around 3 the next day and asked what was going on. We had to explain over text that the place was dirty and filthy and that this was unacceptable, and that we would not be ok with a cleaning crew in the house since we have already spent several hours cleaning a place that we paid to have cleaned....she said she would look into it. We didn't hear back for 2 days. And that we would get a refund on the cleaning fee, which was min. VRBO never got back to me...but sent me a survey asking how well they did in resolving all my issues! Well, VRBO somehow managed to do less than Vacasa. They closed my case and moved on. So we never received new garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, or anything. So on top of the very premium price you pay for this house, you get zero supplies and have to clean it yourself. And don't expect either VRBO or Vacasa to be of any assistance. I'm sure Vacasa will say they cleaned the house....but after WE washed the sheets the hair was suddenly gone. So we bought new pillows, blankets, and such because I have no clew what is clean or not. The house is ok. It's old and hasn't been remodeled in a long time. The view is great, the fire pit nice.

Beach Fun in Cayucos

We had a lovely time in Cayucos amongst the raindrops. It is located right on the beach with a stairway down the had plenty of law chairs and a fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfy.

Perfect on the beach house.

Great house. Totally equipped. Please check the oven because the “at temperature” signal does not work. Only addition would be a hair dryer. Really a great place to stay.

Nice on the beach property. Quaint

The house is nice but we were there during the rain and cold weather. We really could have used entry floor mats to help keep their carpet clean. Also no blankets on the bunk beds, thankfully we had brought some otherwise we would have froze. Also, pilot light went out on furnace. Clearly this is a happy family retreat for the owners and I appreciate them making it available to renters.
