Stunning views and charming property.Check-in and check-out are easy. The house is comfortable with plenty of space but definitely dated. Kitchen was well stocked although we were spending time with family that live nearby so we did not use the kitchen much.The setting is lovely with a pond, animals and a walking path. A very nice outdoor space. Unfortunately, the house cleaning could have been better. A fair amount of dead bugs were in the house.

Such a lovely property! My family and I appreciated the how clean the home was, the various amenities, tje walking paths and animals we got to visit in the grounds, and the tennis courts for some family sports! The home had everything we needed and more and we loved spending a fun family weekend there. The staff was also very communicative and helpful throughout the process and went above and beyond to support!

Outstanding

This property is a sprawling estate. The house was beautiful and spacious. There were large common areas with high ceilings. The closest other house was 100 yards away. There was a small pond just outside in which the kids fished almost every day while the adults prepared dinner in the house. The porch has a grill, tables where we often ate or played games, and a hot tub. I cannot imagine a more perfect place for our family get-together with our children and grandchildren.

Magnolia House

We loved our stay at the Magnolia house. It was plenty spacious, clean, and very convenient to Rixey Manor, the wedding venue. Check in was easy and walking the trails was great. We loved the Zonkey😃

Beautiful getaway with friends

The property was beautiful and communication was excellent. Our group enjoyed the ample outdoor space and walking paths around the greater property. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway.

Scenic Escape

Management was overly accommodating. Property was well maintained, and the serenity and privacy was enjoyed by all. A few ponds to fish if you’re so inclined and the indoor pool was a huge hit for the little ones. Whether a weekend getaway or a week long escape, highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful!

The house was gorgeous and very clean. It could use a few updates, but just cosmetic. The Castleton property is just incredible. The views are gorgeous, there are tons of walking paths, the animals and birds are a new surprise around every corner. The fireplace in the house is huge and so cozy and a ton of wood was provided. The hot tub and fire pit outside were great for relaxation and star gazing. Beautiful sunsets over the pond too. The only negative I can think of is that the pool wasn’t open. We visited the Skyline Caverns and wineries nearby. We will definitely be going back!

Nice Family Vacation

We had a lovely week in Castleton. The setting of the property is beautifful. There were a few issues but we didn't notify the office until we left so they should have taken care of everything before the next guests arrived. When I did call Connie, she was very responsive and had someone check the property. Our biggest issue, which isn't a property issue and not a huge problem for many people is the location being so far from anything. The property was very large and comfortable but updates are needed. We noticed new furniture in the living room which was great but the main bathroom needs refurbishment. There was plenty of room and many bathrooms which was helpful with toddlers!

Great experience

Wow where to begin? What a perfect stay. The property is even bigger and more beautiful than expected. We saw so many baby animals (deer, bunnies, goats). The kids loved the zebra. The house is in great condition and super clean. Full of attentive touches. Paul and Connie went above and beyond for us.

Dissatisfied

The location and environment were great. The furniture and the materials were rather old and smelly. But it was acceptable. There were bedbugs and they sting my friend. Next day they changed the mattress. But we saw second day too. Were were not refunded as ‘we agreed to stay not leave’. Do not recommend.

Lovely surroundings and nature views

Magnolia house is a very spacious place with lots of room for everyone. Kids loved the ping pong table and private hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes and knives were excellent (not always the case in rental properties). There’s need for pest control (stink bugs) and bathroom would benefit from updating. But we wouldn’t stop that from returning to Castleton Farms.

Beautiful Area and nice views!

The house was very nice. Beautiful views of the mountains and the night sky. Very peaceful. Our older children enjoyed the activities. The house accommodated 10 while still providing a quiet place to sit and read. A few minor maintenance items could be addressed but this did not impact our comfort. The staff was very responsive and friendly.

Great for a team offsite meeting!

I stayed here with my team of 5 from work so we could get some strategy work done and it was great. Enough bedrooms and bathrooms so we could spread out appropriately and the kitchen was big enough for us to cook dinner together. The utensils provided were sufficient to cook a large meal (including a large roast). The beds were all comfortable and the house was clean. We made great use of the fireplace all weekend and there was a huge amount of wood provided. The living room served us well and an HDMI cord was already there, which was great. Check in was easy as could be and Connie was super easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend this place and likely will make a reservation in the future. My ONLY “complaint” was the number of stink bugs which made it hard to concentrate at times but I’m not sure there’s much anyone could do about that.

Beautiful house and property close to DC

My group had an absolutely amazing time at Magnolia House. The photos don’t do it justice - it’s so spacious and cozy, with a fabulous hot tub and fire place and located on its own lake. Connie was very responsive and flexible. Definitely hope to come back again, it exceeded expectations!

Perfect Getaway

This is my second time at Castleton and I loved every part of it. The house was clean. Lots of rooms to comfortably gather a large group. Enjoyed the hot tub and the picturesque views. The kids saw the Zonkey and Emus. Cell service is spotty, but the WiFi at the house is very reliable. Connie was great to work with and very responsive. Can't wait to go back!
