Castillo de Muncaster

A Cumbrian castle built on original Roman foundations in Ravenglass overlooking the River Esk. Privately owned by the Pennington family for over 800 years it has a beautiful interior with a magnificent library, and most notably Himalayan Gardens. The gardens thrive because apparently the microclimate here from the hillside and coastal atmosphere make it the equivalent of being at 11,000ft altitude in the Himalaya.

A fab place to visit on the Cumbrian coast. The grounds are dog friendly and you can watch the outdoor bird of prey display with your dog.
