The house is over 500 years old and well kept. It has hardwood floors, floors made of stone, and tiled floors. Ceilings with big beams, old fireplaces, and walls that have heard many a secret. It is easy to imagine all the history it has witnessed.
The view is breathtaking, with rolling hills of green, olive groves, grapefields and more.
During our stay of 2 weeks we spent some time doing nothing, except relaxing by the pool, and playing with the children in the pool. However, the location is good as a base for exploring and visiting old medieval villages, such as Cortona, Arezzo, Siena, and of course Castiglion Fiorentino. We also had 2 day trips to Florence by train. We booked a wine tasting and lunch at the winery «Buccelletti» down the road, a five minute walk from the house. Beautiful place and a lovely experience.
Linda’s family has been there for generations, and she and her husband takes great pride in making your stay as comfortable as possible.
There is air-conditioning in 3 of the spacious bedrooms. My daughter and I stayed in the bedroom with no air-conditioning, and it was fine due to the thick walls of the house. It was nice and cool inside, even though it was up to 38 degrees C outside.
If you are looking for a place to stay with your family in Tuscany, I do not hesitate to recommend this place. If you book La Fenice you can have a nice, adventurous and relaxing holiday - all at the same time!
