It is set quite of the beaten path and the lane leading to the car park area was quite bumpy, dirty and replete with potholes. "This is a busy hotel on Sunday’s but has plenty of parking. The staff are exceptional and room 201 with a tub in the window is perfect for a romantic weekend. The hotel is a short walk from the Rock Inn and the moor. The food in the bar and main restaurant is varied and delicious with breakfast being served in the conservatory. The bus service to Widecombe in the moor is very limited and needs to be considered if you intend to visit the area. Overall a very pleasant stay. "

"Worst stay I have ever had. The first morning at breakfast the plates were so dirty it put us off eating. We literally went through the whole pile and could not find any clean ones. Didn't bother going to breakfast the 2nd morning. There was an odd smell on the first day when we walked into room but it was stifling hot so put the air conditioning on and left it at that. However the next evening when we returned to the room we walked in and there was a clear smell of drugs in the room which...

"Was very disappointed at being charged extra to park the car because we booked through Hotels.com. Only received a refund when we complained and pointed out that had I come and just bought a coffee I would have been eligible for free parking as I would have been considered to be a customer. But not considered to be a customer when staying overnight. "
