Hank's place was perfect for our labor day lake trip. Very close to town, which is convenient. Cell signal and wifi were both great. Stairs to dock might need some attention in near future. Overall great stay.

Would like to start by saying that we had a great time, but we always do- however you should have a disclaimer that there are 81 steps from cabin to lake and almost straight down so if any vacationer has knee, hip or breathing issues they will not be getting to the lake, the last set of steps of the trek to the lake were in poor condition and treacherous. Your cabin although comfortable needs to have a general maintainence from top to bottom. Downstairs shower needs a new head, sink needs a new faucet, kitchen sink spigot needs tightened down, lights need light bulbs, exhaust fan in upstairs bathroom is just hanging there, same as light above the sink in the kitchen. The stair lift was non functioning. Dining table was very shaky. Thankfully there was a boat ramp close by. The ramp supposedly 100 ft away that we were supposed to have access to had large logs blocking it and huge rocks that block ability to put in there. Dock had large screw on the ladder sticking out that cut my foot. There were no cleaning supplies such as bleach spray, one roll of paper towels and maybe 2 dish towels. Most of the remotes to TV’s were dead. And we were not very fond of the request to do our own linens. Said there would be firewood- there was none. Perhaps a dumpster or large can for trash rather than walking bags down the drive and calling for pickup would be better. Read your contract renters- 2 a minute if you stay past check out time which is why we were packed and out 5hrs early.

Needs some work but overall a nice place

This was our first time at lake Norris, a group of us 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. The house is nice but in need of some updates as previous reviews have listed. Overall stay was a nice time but will list pros and cons. Pros- beautiful lake and really nice secluded part that you can swim and not be mowed over by heavy boat traffic-back porch is nice I like the views of the lake with the swing and hot tub option. - host was very quick to answer questions and communicate- house was clean Cons- stairs leading to the dock are in dire condition the section connecting dock to stairs was broken and made it difficult to get onto dock to swim- has mice, noticed mouse traps in the kitchen cabinets but didn’t really care until my suitcase had mouse droppings all over my clothes. -would have been nice to maybe have life jackets available, there is a Walmart near which we went to to purchase some but I hate to purchase things that will not be used but maybe once in multiple years as we do not live near a lake. - they have kayaks at the house but you have to rent them which is a whole other expense, which gives off a ‘nickel and diming’ feel - very long rental contract sent before we arrived that does have good info, but a bit redundant and could be more concise- if you have swimming dogs, the dock is really the only way to get in the water as the sides by it are too steep for dogs to get in and out of with ease, there’s a boat ramp close that they could in theory swim out o

Peaceful - Relaxation

Great quiet location to get away from the noise of everyday life. It was great to come back and relax on the porch and hot tub after hiking and great access to the lake for a day on the boat.

Lakefront Hideaway

We did not utilize the dock, but the property was nice and very peaceful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the porch with hot tub was our favorite for relaxing. The homeowner notified us of bad weather approaching and responded timely to my requests.

Weekend getaway

Our weekend getaway ended up being a rainy one (plus a little snow) so we didn’t get to use the outdoor options (patio area, grill). No worries though, there were cards & games to keep us busy! The hot tub and fireplaces were perfect to just chill & have a great weekend.

New Years Stay

Just as pictured, manager answered promptly, we were not able to get there. Until night time because I had to work the day of check in but he was understanding and I got a late check out! Road up to the cabin very curvy and narrow would suggest first time to make sure it’s still day light! Overall had a great time!

Cabin stay

We enjoyed the cabin for two families of four. The man cave was a great place to relax at night. For us, the outdoor area was great including the fire pit, grill, canoe and an area for fishing. We initially thought we could maybe swim off of our deck, but the water had quite a bit of trash and debris so we went us the road to the beach as an alternative. The owner Hank was responsive to our needs and suggestions. We made some great memories and enjoyed the cabin!

Property was lovely, but we were staying there with the understanding that we would be able to ride our UTV from the house to the teail head. Upon turning onto the main road heading into the house, there was a sign saying otherwise. Then when we areived at the house, there was a sign on the table saying that we could not as well. I made several attempts to contact the owner/manager about this, but never received a response. I never heard from the manager then entire week long we were there.

Relaxing!

This property provided my family with exactly what we were looking for, a very relaxing stay on the water. We enjoyed the jacuzzi & the hot tub. My kids enjoyed fishing right on the property. It was also very close to a park which we all enjoyed. Overall a great place to relax and spend time with family! The host was very helpful with communication, making us feel welcome and making check in/check out process smooth.

Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay in this lake house. The deck was so relaxing. The yard was perfect for the kids to run around! If we had any issues Hank was just a call or text away. I loved coming into the house with a personalized letter from Lori welcoming us. The whole house was beautiful and clean.

Spectacular Rejuvenation

This property is perfect. The amenities are beyond words. Plenty to do in the area but we went to relax and regroup.Mission accomplished! The views were spectacular. Mountains,lake,wildlife,sunrise and sunset you get it all. Our host Hank was the best. He was always available and accommadating. Possibly the best I have ever dealt with. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Thanks again to Hank and Lori

Family ATV trail riding getaway

Lovely home with a great sunroom area with hot tub overlooking the lake. Very clean with all starter amenities provided. Great fire pit and grilling area. Hank is an excellent host! Very gracious and readily available. Will definitely return for future ATV/boating family getaways!

Indescribable

The pictures do no do it justice! The house was amazing. The location was perfect. If you want to feel secluded but still minutes from town, this is the place. The deck with hot tub, and fireplace was extremely relaxing with views of the water. Awesome mancave for watching movies. The host is greatly accommodating. This vacation was exactly what we needed!! We will definitely try to visit again.
