Great spring break hiking and biking

Rustic property at a convenient location that was a short drive to some amazing hiking and mountain biking trails. Cabin had plenty of space to accommodate our family and gear.

Sister Getaway

Group of sisters that don’t get to see one another enough living in different states and with how busy life is. We were a little worried about staying in a pet friendly house but everything was very clean and layout of the house is great. You do have to walk through one bedroom to get to another but we had no problems with that. Would definitely stay here again! Hoping to make this an annual event!

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU RENT

The property was beautiful, but because of all the crazy weather they’ve had, it’s not like the pictures. The river has gone down tremendously. The dock is broken and it is actually very difficult to even get to. Thankfully, we weren’t planning on doing much with the river because we were here in January, but if you are planning on making this house part of your summer plans, contact the host prior to see if the river and dock have improved at all. If you notice in the pictures, they only show images of three of the four bedrooms in the house. That is because the fourth bedroom is actually a sunroom attached to the master bedroom that they turned into a bedroom. It’s connected to the house through the master bedroom only. Unless you go outside, walking through the master bedroom is the only way to get to the fourth bedroom. I just wish they would’ve been more transparent about the bedroom. It just wasn’t what I expected. All this goes to say, the house was very nice. The hosts were very kind to us. have no really major complaints overall, just a few things I feel like you should know before you rent the house. It’s a beautiful property though and I’m so grateful we got to spend our new years there. Thank you to the host for everything! It was truly a blessing.

Rented the house for a long weekend celebrating my partners 30th birthday. House was as described. Easy access to rent a boat from the marina and dock it at the house. Had a beautiful weekend. Would absolutely stay again.

Lovely place with a lovely owner

We had a large family stay in the place and we all loved it. The place has multiple TVs, pool table, hot tub, fire pit (real and artificial) and most importantly, proximity to the river. Lots of things to do, cozy atmosphere and good neighbours. It is also quite close to a lot of activity around in LaFolette. We really can't complain. Plus the owner, Hank, was super responsive and helpful in making our stay comfortable. We loved the place and would definitely return

Great first vrbo experience

Best Thanksgiving Ever!!

This property is amazing and relaxing. There was plenty of room for 4 branches of our family to gather for the Thanksgiving holiday along with our furry friends. Two living spaces with a pool table, 4 eating areas both indoor and out, WONDERFUL gas fire rings in just about EVERY outdoor space..... at least 5 outdoor gathering areas including a hottub. Easily fit our 6 adult 4 children gathering. Hank is a great host. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay. We'd definitely like to visit again!

Nice place!

This house is big with comfortable beds . Great views of a clean lake. Lots of yard space front and back on a very lightly traveled road .Property owner is very responsive and nice. The dock is good, but that's the only way to get into lake. We were thinking there was shoreline but there is none accessible. We are all fit but I can't imagine getting older folks or little kids up and down the steps easily. Nice quiet cove if you're looking to relax. Bonus is pets are allowed but it is spotless!

A comfortable and nice retreat

Hank was wonderful throughout the booking, check-in and during our actual stay. We had a bit of glitch when we first arrived - arrived in the dark and could not get the front door open. We eventually got it. It was a Sunday evening and I hated to bother Hank, but he did respond. It would have been helpful to have a light on and a note in the "welcome" email that states that there are key pads on 2 doors just in case. Overall the property is nice and in good condition. There are some areas that could use some TLC (bathrooms), but everything was in working order and didn't impact our ability to enjoy our stay. There were 4 comfortable and clean king beds which provided ample room for our family to sleep comfortably and stretch out. The main living areas are comfy and the kitchen was good. I would not say it is modern but it had just about everything we needed. We have a couple of family members over 6 feet - the light in the font hall was a bit dangerous - hangs very low and my hubby and son hit their heads a few times. Might be worth swapping that out for a flush mount light? It is in the main hall so you can't avoid passing it, so tall folks be aware. We had easy access to the lake ( a lot of steps - that is just the nature of the area). The water level was low when we went and we didn't do any boating or anything, but it was nice to hike down and check things out. We did use the hot tub, it could use a descaling or cleaning - it was very scratchy and rough on the inside. We had a couple of nice days and were able to sit out on the back patio - we really enjoyed that. A big wind storm came through and produced quite a bit of damage. Hank was great at alerting us and checking in with us after the fact. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Looking to return in the near future!

Great location

Overall enjoyed our stay. Boat ramp shared with another house, very steep, public boat ramp very close by, much better option. Very decorated house,lots of extras. There are a few areas that are in need of repair, nothing major. Had a great time on the lake. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps.
