We were a large group renting the house for a family reunion. The kitchen/dining area was spacious enough for us to have meals together, there were amble bedrooms/beds, and the decks were great for morning coffee. We loved spending time on the dock and floating in the water in the quiet cove.

Great Family Vacation

We took our whole family on vacation, our 5 children their spouses and 15 grandchildren. We loved the location of the house. It was beautifully decorated and well-equipped. Adults and kids made use of kayaks which was a nice addition. As older adults, we liked that there were not so many steps from the house to the dock. We had a few issues and they were quickly fixed. We were disappointed that the corn hole board was broken and we were unable to play which we had planned on doing. The only negative was the water pressure in the house was very low. Several of the showers in the lower level the water pressure was so bad that they couldn't be used for showers. Only One bedroom didn't have a private bathroom which was inconvenient for the occupant. Overall the house is great. I would highly recommend it and will stay there again if I vacation at Norris Lake again.

American Spirit Family Vacation

The house was as advertised! Plenty of room for our family of 24. The house if in great condition and well kept by the owners. If there was anything to improve upon, it would be the gravel road leading to the house (obviously not the owner's fault). Would highly recommend this house to large families looking for a great vacation spot in the Lake Norris area.

Summer get-away

Family Reunion

We hand a fabulous time! The accommodations were fantastic! Plenty of room for the whole gang. The dock and slide were so fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the cabin.

The house was great! Getting to the house.. not so much. The roads are a little scary to drive. Lots of sharp turns, drop offs, and steep hills. My family and I had a great time and no complaints about the house.

Fun lake house for large groups

We had four families stay here for a weekend getaway, all with young children. The layout of the house worked great for that type of group and the carpeted stairs meant 2yr olds could explore on their own. The kids loved the games and playing on the beach. The two nice grills and lake view were highlights as well. Beds were large and comfy, renter communication was good, and house in general was in pretty good shape. Nearly 5 stars if not for: mainly the large amount of sand in the hot tub when we arrived, but also a decent number of ceiling bulbs needed replacing, kayak seat is kinda broken, and one of the basement bedroom ceilings is currently under repair from a leak (leak seems fixed though, just not very attractive). They're overall minor points and we'd stay here again.

Nice Stay

We used this home to host our group of church ladies for a retreat. The house was well stocked and clean. The dock was a nice place to sit and a few even used the slide on the dock. It was quite a drive to reach the home, but we felt it was worth it.

Another great stay!

This was our second time staying at American Spirit and we already booked our next trip to come back next year! The house was clean and provided everything we needed for 8 couples. We enjoyed boating and floating in the lake during the day and the fire pit at night!

Small group getaway

Our church small group of 16 has stayed at Norris Lake every year for 8 years. We were looking for a home that met our standards and was not as steep of an incline to the water, and American Spirit checked all our boxes!

Perfect family reunion!

Our family including three generations of adults and kids of all ages had a wonderful stay! Jon is very responsive and helpful. Everything you could need to make amazing meals in the kitchen. Lots of sleeping options and plenty of bathrooms. The lake is gorgeous and clean. Highly recommend a speed boat for endless fun! The house is tucked away where you don’t get boat traffic or noise. Early mornings were especially peaceful with the mist that the Smoky Mountains are known for…..perfect to sit on the deck in the quiet of the morning with a cup of coffee. We want to go back!!

Great time in Tennessee

We had a fantastic stay at American Spirit. Big house, plenty of room for all 18 of our grandkids and parents. Love the lake and the dock. No cell service given the hills and location, but wifi worked well for everyone. Very isolated at the end of the road, but that ensured no one snooping around. Would have appreciated an easier way to fill the boat with gas, but we made it work. Fantastic stay, fun had by all.

A refreshing getaway

We had a fantastic time as a family enjoying the communal spaces in Amercan Spirit. The house is lovely, well appointed and well maintained. Jon was fantastic to communicate with. This is a great home for families or couples to vacation together in.

Beautiful peaceful lake retreat

We did a business retreat with the top leaders on my business team. We had a total of 22 guests. The nine bedrooms works perfectly. Everything was beautifully well-kept. Great accommodations. Would highly recommend.

Winter Fishing

I rented the house with some friends. We were there to fish in March. The property was perfect because there was 3 different levels for everyone to have their own space and activities. The property managers were great to work with. The only issue was the electricity to the boat dock in the wintertime was not readily available. Other than that it was a good experience and a relatively short walk to the water from the house. I'm glad we had wi-fi and televisions throughout the house. The kitchen was stocked well with enough pots and pans for 17 people. We had two refrigerators and two stoves on the main floor and one refrigerator on the bottom floor. Everything was used by us during the trip. Great lodging..

Family Christmas

This was a wonderful home for our family Christmas this year. It was great to have all my children and grandchildren in one location for 2 days. The kitchen was great with 2 microwaves, 2 stoves, and 2 refrigerators and large enough that we could all be cooking at the same time. The bedrooms were comfortable and everyone said their beds were comfortable. The outside looked very inviting but since it was January, we did not explore the outside. The Wi Fi worked well for most of my children and many of us did not have cell service since we were in the Jellico Mountains. The roads are very narrow, curvy, and not very good. It would be helpful if they had street signs on them so you can find your way a little easier. The living room TV worked very well, but would have been nice if the bedroom TVs had been hooked up. There was some snow on the deck going from the driveway to the house, some salt or removal would have been nice. Bathrooms were nice and it was great to have so many available and all seemed to work without any issues. A suggestion would be to have at least one bathroom on the main level with grab bars in the bathtubs for the safety of older adults, like me. Overall, we had a wonderful time and everything was great.

Plenty of room for a large gathering

We enjoyed the property in our family get together. We have a large family and appreciated meals together at the two large tables and counter stools in the dining area. There is plenty of parking for large groups. The American and God-centered themes in the house were appreciated.

A one oven Thanksgiving for 26

I rented this house for a large family Thanksgiving get together in part because it had two ovens and two dishwashers. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that one oven was totally missing it’s lower heating element making it useless for baking and one of the dishwashers did not clean very well. The water temperature in the kitchen was not adequate to properly wash dishes. The listing states all sheets and towels are washed in 140 degree water, but there was no 140 degree water coming out of the kitchen faucet, or any other faucet. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, etc. The house itself was satisfactory. The views were lovely and the kids loved the game room. The wifi was strong, there was a house phone. The beds were comfortable, however one of them had a broken leg, which made the bed lopsided. The rooms were great for families. Of the 9 bathrooms, three did not have enough water pressure to use the showers. One bath tub faucet dripped constantly which was very annoying.
