Damaged clothes and luggage

I am requesting a refund for this stay. My second day in the house the ceiling was leaking. I came back after a night out to my Louis Vuitton luggage being destroyed and the clothes in my suitcase destroyed bc the ceiling had leaked onto my items for what had seem to be hours. I contacted the property manager and he sent someone to check on the Problem but the damage had already been done at this point.

A wonderful experience!

The Villa at Casa del Virrey Eslava is not only beautiful but it is an extremely comfortable place to spend your vacation. It is in a great location very quit and secure. The pool, jacuzzi and roof top are great places to relax after a day of touring. The rooms are very well appointed, the AC works great and the WiFi worked fairly well. The house keeper is a lovely woman and although she speaks only Spanish we had no issue communicating. But the best option is having meals prepared by a local cook. We had 3 breakfasts and a lunch and each were excellent. It is well worth the small extra fee. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice weekend in Cartegena

The house is very well located in Cartegena. The extra $ for the chef Katia is worth every penny! Cartegena is HOT but the bedroom A/Cs worked very well. The outdoor pool area is great to relax and have a drink. There are 2 bigger pools in the complex you can use as well. Ivan was very helpful and easy to work with. We felt very safe staying here, security does their job!

Wonderful experience

Perfect location. Clean, modern, amazing property. Can’t say enough about Katia and Rosa’s amazing cooking. They cooked us breakfast (at around 10) and lunch (at around 3) everyday and every meal was AMAZING. Would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Incredible stay!

We stayed with a group of 8 adults and the house was more than adequate for us all. The house was impecable in terms of cleanliness and organization. However; the best part were our housekeepers and cooks. Every single meal was better than the last; we asked for specific things like avocados in every meal and fried fish for lunch, but otherwise allowed them to choose the menu according to the traditional foods of the region and and we were beyond impressed. This will be a place we will recommend to anyone and will hopefully visit again. Great find; you don’t need to look elsewhere. It is far enough from the hustle and bustle of Cartagena; but close enough to walk everywhere. Highly recommend this house for a group.

Excellent stay in old town!

The villa was very well located. Walking distance to everything in old town and Getsemani. The villa itself was wonderful. We were two families and there was enough room for all of us to be together or separate as needed. The house was well furnished and stocked. The pool in the back of the house, the hot tub on the roof terrace and the larger pool in the complex gave us and the kids plenty of options to cool off in the mid-day heat. We elected to have the chef services and Rosa (our chef) made the most delicious food. We only wished she could cook for us for the rest of our lives!

Beautiful house, fantastic location!

We visited Cartagena and stayed in this beautiful house with our five children ages 13-22 over Christmas Break. The house is in a perfect location in the Walled City, close to all the sites and walking distance of excellent restaurants and shops. Katia and Rosa made absolutely delicious breakfasts for us every day, kept the house nice and clean and even made us dinner for New Year's Eve! The housekeepers were lovely and so was the house! Highly recommend Cartagena - a wonderful city and the weather at this time of year was just perfect coming from the northeast of the US. Sunny and warm every single day!

Elegant, comfortable for 6 Great staff and great food. Extra room on top was a bit tight for a couple. More counter space and an extra luggage rack would have been helpful. Located very well in a tranquil part of town!

Perfect set-up for our family

My husband and I traveled to Cartagena from CT with my three grown children and my son-on-law. Each party had their own bedroom -- two are on the second floor and one is on the third -- which allowed for privacy when needed. We gathered around the dining table for big, beautiful breakfasts prepared by Rosa. She and the housekeeper, Katia, were very accommodating, and even though our Spanish was spotty, we were able to communicate. The house was kept clean and Katia did laundry for us a couple of times. We spent a lot of time on the third floor patio, enjoying the birds, sunsets, and naps. My only suggestion is to check the leaking refrigerator and the downstairs fan. We couldn't get the first floor quite cool enough, even with the portable floor fan, and it was rather noisy. I would highly recommend this house. Cartagena is a lively, bustling city, and the condo complex was quiet and relaxing. The pools were terrific!

la propiedad bellisima

llegamos felices a esta casa, Ivan fue perfecto. Ya estando alla, tuvimos serios problemas con el agua, se revento el calefon. que fue peligrosisimo Entendemos que problemas hay , pero no habia con quien hablar, se inundo el piso de arriba , pues exploto el calefon y nos salvo el de la entrada. la encargada de la casa , no contesto , dijo que no tenia plata para carga del celualar estuvimos sin agua, pero no entendemos que no habia con quien hablar. la cuestion es que paso una segunda vez. otra vez sin agua vuelvo a decir la casa lindisima, Ivan perfecto pero alla no habia quien resuelva las cosas . Y esto era un problema grave, que explote una caneria y se inunde una casa. lamento mucho esto

Wonderful place; Highly recommend

This is a very nice place to stay. I was here with a small group for a milestone birthday and found it to be a beautiful and quiet respite from the noise of the city. Also, it is in a secure community with a staffed desk at the front door. Ivan was super responsive--we had an issue with the hot water heater and he took care of it quickly--it is reassuring to know that not only a place run smoothly, but when there are inevitable hiccups, they are handled well. We had chosen to have breakfast and housekeeping taken care of by Rosa and found her wonderful--both what she prepared and how she took care of the place. Totally recommend her as well. Overall Cartegena is a great place to visit (this my first) and this property is a great place to stay in a great city to visit.

The absolute best!

We had an AMAZING time at Ivan’s house. Everything was perfect - we were taken care of from the moment we walked in untik the time that we left. The house is beautiful and the pictures online don’t do it justice! Location could not be better. The highlight of our stay had to be Rosa and Katia - our cooks! The meals they made us were beyond delicious and we would highly recommend adding their services to your reservation. They were honestly the best. We will definitely be returning and staying with Ivan again! 5 stars!

The villla was very nice for our party of 7' plenty of room and a nice home to come back to after exploring the city. We use VRBO quite a bit and this will not dissapoint. Worth staying here.

Great location in Cartagena

Our stay in Cartagena was very nice, the house is in a great location and is very secure. It is an ideal place for a family with kids as there are two large pools in the complex as well as a small dipping pool in the house's court yard and a hot tub on the rooftop deck. Our only criticism was that it was that while, the beds were neatly made each day and the two women who worked there were very nice, the kitchen was not very clean, the coffee maker needed to be replaced and had no filters, we had to use pieces of paper towel instead and there was no functioning corkscrew (two broken. ones) and it took two days to get our laundry back. Having said that, our stay, in general, was great and I would recommend this property to others.

Beautiful , beautiful place to stay, very close to everything... the hose was big and very spacious... pool and jicuzzi are great. The ladies that cook also cleaned and kept everything so clean.... i will definetely recommend this property to anyone... everything went smooth no problems at all... we had a great experience..... thank you !

Beautiful 5 star home in great quiet location.

This is perfect for 8 people. We had four couples and everyone had their own bedroom with full bath. The location is perfect and very secure. Housekeeper came daily to make beds and clean kitchen including dishes and even did our laundry. The pictures represent the exact experience. Cartagena is a wonderful place to vacation and our accomadations really made the vacation extra special.
