Terrible experience

First of all, could barely get through to where we had to park beside of the house we were staying which was split into 3 or 4 rooms! Construction going on and a port of john at the road in front of house, big hole filled with rain water with a work horse bench sitting in it, could barely get around it! NO pillows or comforters were there, had to go out and buy pillows and a blanket. Next morning lost power due to too much being on one circuit. Left there that morning and did not continue the stay. Communicated with the owner but she was not willing to refund anything by a measly $100.00. This was a huge mistake renting there and will NEVER do that again!

Perfect little getaway

I had a fantastic experience at Mermaid Crossing! The place was the perfect size for what I needed, and was cute and very clean. Nice little back deck to hang out on, and literally steps away from the beach. 1-2 minutes and your toes are in the sand! Rosana could not have been more helpful and her responses were always super quick (even when I locked myself out at 11:30 at night! She went above and beyond to make sure I got in.) Couldn't be happier with my choice, and will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area!

Labor Day Get Away

The location was the best part of this rental! It is close to a beach access point which makes it very easy to carry all the items that you want to take to the beach for the day without worrying about parking. You can just walk there from the rental. It is also within walking distance for restaurants and shopping.

Great stay

Mermaid Crossing was perfect for our long weekend. We were there to move our daughter into UNCW, it’s her first year. We wanted a place near the beach so we could take the day after move in to soak up the sun relax and figure out this next chapter of life. This apartment was very clean and neat and so inviting. I will definitely stay again when we go for visits. Rosana was great to work with responds within minutes.

Great place to stay!

Very comfortable for our family of 4, including 3-year-old twins. Love the proximity to the beach. We had a couple of issues with the door code and Rosana was very responsive to our concerns. Only con is that there is not a lot of open shelf/table space. Too many knick knacks that we had to move to make space -- and keep away from the kids. But really that is a minor complaint. Would absolutely rent here again!

Long weekend getaway

Had a wonderful time staying at mermaid crossing at Carolina beach. The unit was clean and nicely decorated. Communication with the owner was prompt . Did have some trouble figuring out the keyless entry pad and lock. I would suggest a motion light on the side of the unit since we had to go around the back side to our entrance. All in all it was a great rental for 2.

Cute little place to stay!

We really enjoyed staying at Rosanna’s little cottage and the extra touch of buckets for the kids was fantastic! It was perfect for our family and the proximity to the beach was amazing! Just be careful where you park your car, it will very well be towed. We stayed in the back part of the house where there is a house being built, it was fine but make sure if you have children they are very careful not to get themselves away from the house! Overall this was a fabulous little beach getaway. Thanks!

Great place.

Overall the property was everything we needed. The only issue we had was the muddy access to our door, due to construction behind the property. It's everything as described. Would definitely stay here again. The host is the greatest. Fast to respond to any issues that arise. Thanks Rosanna for Everything. The Matthews Family.

Cute place but doesn’t stand up to the $$$

Cons: When we first arrived, we were 18 min early but were not allowed entry. My 5 year old had to go to the bathroom. It was just a bit annoying to drive down the street to use the bathroom. I’ve stayed in plenty rentals and never had an issue. The kitchen had no hot water to wash dishes. Only 2 burners worked on the stove. Our truck wouldn’t fit in a parking space but they were nice enough to move their truck so we could park along the side. We stayed in the back unit. There was heavy construction in the back. Very sandy/muddy all around the house and you have to walk through it. It didn’t have the little extras like coffee and a Keurig like most do in this price range. Although in the bedroom I slept well, the pull out in the living room was not comfortable for my daughter and it was loud from the street late at night. Pros: it was very clean and very cute inside. The A/C was cold. The bed in the bedroom was comfy. The beach access was right across the street. It’s in walking distance to many restaurants and the boardwalk. In a nut shell, if it didn’t cost me 1000 for 3 nights, I would not care about most of the things that were wrong. I have just enjoyed other stays on the island more.

Perfect small cottage for short beach visit

The pictures accurately depicted the property. The location was great. There was a beach entrance just across the street with very easy access. The boardwalk and restaurants were an easy walk. The cottage is small but worked well for 3 of us. There is no view, which I knew but missed. Communication with the property owner/manager was great. She was very responsive and helpful. I would recommend!

Clean and Cute!

We had a great time! It was clean and super cute! It would be nice if there was a grill and a table outside. The other thing that would be great would be if the outdoor shower was enclosed so that I could take my suit off and rinse off outside. Other than that they place was amazing!!!!

Perfect place for a beach getaway

Mermaid Crossing, suite 4 was a perfect little spot for a beach getaway. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. Location to beach access was perfect with a kid in tow, just steps away. This beach access is also right at a life guard station which is a plus. And the proximity to all the restaurants , shops and things to do was in walking distance. We parked the car and never got in it again for our stay. Loved the outdoor shower to rinse off after playing at the beach and the deck was a nice spot to sip a drink and watch the clouds roll by.

Cute little spot!!!

I found the rental to be very cute, it was small but perfect for our family. The location was amazing, just a very short walk to the Beach. It was clean and cozy. All though it lacked a few utensils and supplies, there was only one fork and three spoons in the kitchen, but like a ton of knives, we were still happy to have had the pleasure of calling it home for our vacation.
