Very nice and comfortable house. Checked all the boxes we needed. Centrally located and within walking distance to Waterman's Landing beach and Garwood's. Will stay there again.

Warm and Cozy

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas at Carnelian Bay. Enough dishes, serving bowls, and pots and pans for our party of 8 plus baby and nice seating around the fireplace. The hot tub was a welcome addition. We would stay here again!

Mountain Escape cabin in Carnelian Bay

We all enjoyed our stay at this cabin! We had plenty of room to be on our own or sit together in the living room. Weather was perfect for sitting outside! My son enjoyed the backyard, running around on the lawn and the swing set!

SINCE CLIMATE IS CHANGING, IT WAS A HOT WEEK IN THE HOUSE..PERHAPS SOME CEILING FANS WOULD BE GREAT ADDITION . THE FLOOR FANS WERE NOT ADEQUATE AND WERE VERY NOISY. SOME SMALLER CEREAL BOWLS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE.. WE ALL LOVE ALL OTHER AMENITIES, GREAT SETTING.

Family Home was great!

We had a great week at the property , despite the smoke from the Dixie fire. Lovely property all around , very well maintained. The fans really helped for the evenings and mornings. The swing set was a great surprise for our 4yr old and almost 2 yr old grandchildren. We did have to wash it down with the hose outside, but no big deal. Only downside is that the beach literally across the way next to Garwoods is great if you have dogs. Definitely not for families with little ones. Lots of dog poop everywhere . Watch your step. We rented a boat 2x in Tahoe City . Loved it. Ordered pizza from down the street which was great, Garwoods was so convenient and miniature golf was fun! Great location . Thank you for the memories !

Our stay

The picture of the property was deceiving. Kitchen living space was smaller than it appeared. It was very warm in the house. Needs air conditioning or ceiling fans. Window in the lower back bedroom does not open. Kitchen pots and pans need upgrade. Absolutely no platters for serving 8-10 people. Probably won’t stay at this property again for the price.

Wonderful Vacation Home!

We Love staying in the home! This was our second year, the home is perfect for our family with 5 adults, the 4 bedrooms/3.5 baths accommodate us perfectly and they allow us to bring our dogs! The reason I gave a 4 star, is that most of the kitchen items are pretty tired or missing, chipped plates, missing flatware, damaged utensils. We like to cook, so maybe only noticeable by our family. The location is Awesome! Lots of parking! Fabulous Hiking nearby! We will be back!

Fabulous Home, Great Location!

This was our favorite rental home so far in the Tahoe area. With 3 adult sons the bedroom and bathroom arrangement was perfect! We loved to all be together in the main living area, cooking, watching movies or just hanging out. Having the Hot Tub right there on the back deck was very convenient and enjoyable. The home is well stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable and also to enjoy cooking meals together. Being able to have our dogs with us was the frosting on the cake! We found several great hiking/biking trails within walking distance of the home and of course there's Mini Golf!

Lovely home in great location!

My family had a wonderful stay in this home. The open kitchen/living room/dining area was great to hang out in. The kitchen has everything one needs for cooking. And the bedroom arrangement gave each of us a quiet place to sleep. Being able to bring our dogs was the frosting on the cake!

Beautiful home and great location

This home was exactly as I expected. It was perfect for my large family and the back yard was a huge hit for the grandkids and dog. Close enough to walk to the beach, yet quietly tucked away

Great house, especially with kids and a dog

This was a great property for our family. I have 3 little ones aged 1-4. The play structure with swings (one is an infant swing perfect for our 1 and 2 year olds) was a hit. Fenced backyard was perfect for our dog. Updated kitchen and washer/dryer. Only a 5 minute walk to the nearby public beach (although it is rocky and not the best for a true beach day). This was a perfect Tahoe summer home rental. I usually rent a Tahoe home in the summer and winter and for the price, this is an excellent value and quality rental.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third year we have enjoyed this home. The location is great, the square footage is awesome, super layout, well-equipped kitchen, nice TV and sound system, great yard, wood-burning fireplace is fantastic, big garage, and walking distance to Garwoods. My only disappointment is in the quality of the details. It's either gone downhill or hasn't been maintained well, as I have seen no attention to upkeep over the years. The pictures on the website are at least 4 or 5 years old because they weren't accurate when we arrived a few years ago. I guess allowing pets for many years takes its toll (though we don't personally own pets). The living room rug is absolutely gross, and there is no longer a side chair. The throw pillows and throw blankets look completely gray, ols, and disheveled, so when we arrive, I toss them into the closet because I can't bear to touch them. The living room sofa has no structure; you sink into it and the pillows and cushions are completely lumpy. The bedding is good and the beds are comfortable, but the blanket in the closet that I added to our master bed apparently had tons of sand in it because I woke up with sand in the bed for 3 days before I realized that's what it was. The bath towels smell mildewy, and there are not enough of them for everyone to use the hot tub AND take a shower with a dry towel. The carpet covers on the toilet seat aren't my style, but the idea of how old they are kind of creeps me out, so I always toss those into a closet or drawer upon arrival, too. I gave all of this feedback to the management company a full year ago, so I was so shocked to see all of the same stuff and same conditions when we arrived again this year. Tahoe Getaways is always so great, so I don't get it - is it the owners? The price is going up for next year by a couple thousand more than we paid this year, and I can't figure out why, so we are not re-booking. It's disappointing because besides these details, it's a fanta
