"What a delightful surprise the Wayside Inn has been! Lovely, spacious, updated room comfortably appointed, and with great beds and pillows. It’s in a terrific location, close to everything, but quiet, too. We got a restful nights sleep before hitting the stores and restaurants. "Lovely property. Superb hot tub. Excellent welcome from Elizabeth at reception. Amazing Barman at adjacent Brophys Tavern. Room very nice, but strangely lacking in places to hang anything. Nowhere to hang bathrobes or wet bathing suits. Towels are at opposite end of bathroom, meaning a slippery walk across wet tile to get a towel. No room around basin for toiletries. "

"It was a great location and we walked everywhere. Tons of restaurants everywhere. It was older but for the most part met our needs. Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable and was old cause we kept falling into the center. "

"The staff was very helpful, gave us a lot of suggestions to local food and drinks. The location was brilliant, right next to downtown Carmel and 8min walk to beach. They also serve breakfast to your door around 8 am daily, which is delicious and has balanced ingredients. My only complaint is the soundproofing was poor, you can easily hear the voice in the next room. Fortunately everyone was mostly quiet during my stay."
