Charming house in a good neighborhood within walking distance to the village of Carmel. The wash machine was broken, and the host did her best to get it fixed. Towels need to be of better quality. No drawers in the bedroom for socks and undies. Plenty of closet space to hang up clothes. When we arrived, we were informed that we would have to drive to Monterrey to establish an account with the cable company to have TV for the time we were there. Bring your computer. WIFI was fine. Beds were comfortable. Carmel is a beautiful place and a delight to visit. Audrey, the host, was understanding and cooperative.

Wonderful Stay

I had a wonderful stay in this beautifully decorated, eclectic home, filled with original artwork. I loved looking at the Spanish moss hanging from the trees in the backyard and watching the birds drink from and bathe in the bird bath. The location was great, with quick and easy access to downtown and Hwy. 1. I have already booked my next stay here, and can't wait to return!

Lovely cottage

Great Stay!

We loved our time at this property. Communication with Audrey was great and very timely. The location is really convenient with a short walk into town and a bit further to the beach. The home was clean and efficient and the outdoor patio was really enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again as it was a great value.

Perfect Spot in Carmel

Great location. Short walk to Ocean Avenue and all its shops, restaurants, beach and galleries. The home is cozy and comfortable with a quiet, pleasant succulent garden, lots of birds and a friendly squirrel! Easy access to Hwy One so you can make it to Point Lobos or Pacific Grove or Monterey easily. You can't go wrong.

Terrific Spot for a Month-long Stay

Cozy and well-equipped. We easily made dinner most nights and always had what we needed at hand. Audrey does a great job of giving you the run down of the house and community in the blue binder. Read it! We didn’t and pestered Audrey with lots of unnecessary questions. She dealt with us gently when we realized our error. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but just minutes walk away from the heart of town. The beach is just another 5 minutes away. The uphill walk home is good for you:-) We we’re like mountain goats by week 3 —sorta. The slogan for our stay could have been “ so many restaurants, so little time.” For best view of the sunset, go to the beach at the foot of 8th Street! Really had a wonderful time.

Hope to stay here again

We are a couple who stayed 4 months. We were happy. The house is close - five or six blocks, to the village and all it offers without being in the village and its crowds. It is large enough to accommodate visitors (other couples) who can have their own bedroom and bathroom. The spaces have good natural light which is important to us. All in all we were very comfortable and reluctant to leave.

Great location

The home was perfect. We could walk to the beach and downtown. The beach was about a mile away which made for a beautiful hike with lots of interesting places to check out. Audrey was always available for any question as well.

Nice WFH retreat away from home

Audrey was a great host! The house is cute/quaint and convenient, and was a good WFH alternative for us during the Covid SIP. It was very clean. It is a fairly quiet neighborhood and the immediate neighbors were all very nice. Things we enjoyed the most about the house: It is a quick walk to/from town (5-10 mins) and the beach (15-20mins). It is mostly uphill on the way back, but the scenery if pretty and we enjoyed the exercise! We loved the private, sunny deck and yard with lots of bird watching opportunities. The kitchen and bathrooms are small but very clean, functional and efficiently set up. The kitchen is well stocked and was great for light cooking and heating up take-out leftovers. The house heats up very fast even during the coldest nights, and the master shower hot water is HOT immediately which is awesome, especially in winter. The double master bedroom/bathroom layout is great. Thanks Audrey - we hope to have a chance to come back in 2021!

Cool house, great owners!

Audrey was great to work with. There were some technical difficulties with VRBO and she went above and beyond to contact them to get things straightened out. I highly recommend this house because the owners are trust worthy and care.
