Un buen hotel.
Todo excelente, solo que no nos respetaron la habitación que contratamos a través de esta página, y que yo re-confirmé vía telefónica para asegurar la habitación con 3 camas dobles. En lugar de eso, nos dieron una habitación pequeña con una cama pequeña plegable. Jackie, la chica de recepción nos atendió muy bien e hizo todo lo que pudo, aunque desafortunadamente, no había nada que hacer, porqué la gerente (que fue con la que yo hablé por teléfono y me confirmó la habitación llamada Redwood), ya había dispuesto de ella. Solicitamos vía Jackie el reembolso por el cambio de tarifa, y ya quedó hecho, aunque hubiéramos preferido dormir más cómodas. Gracias Jackie, el hotel está muy bien atendido Gracias a ti!

This is my 2nd year in a row staying here and I love it!! The rooms are so cute and unique. The staff is kind. The area is well kept. And it’s within walking distance from the main shopping in Carmel.

Pleasant old school charm. Wooden structure built in 1927 with perfect location. Well maintained but dated charm. Limited parking. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. I would stay there again.

Sanitary conditions are good. The location is great, too. But the room was too small, unventilated, and not very soundproof. If the window is opened, people outside can see into the room clearly. There are no curtains. We even heard the people next room snoring at night.

I will stay elsewhere when I am back in Carmel.
The location is wonderful, easy walk to the beach as well as shopping and restaurants in town. The Inn is just okay. The staff was friendly, but the rooms were in need of renovations. The carpet is old and looks dirty, I wore my flip flops. The room I stayed in had neighbors above and next door, and I could hear everything. The floors are creaky so every step woke me up when my neighbors were walking around when I was sleeping. I could hear them talking, using the bathroom, you get the picture. The bed was comfortable and there was a large TV. Speaking of beds, we had reserved a room with 2 beds. What we got was a Queen bed and a couch, not great. I was woken up the 2nd night by a terrible noise of animals fighting. I opened the shutters and saw several raccoons a few feet from my window. That is when I realized that my window was actually wide open and had been since I arrived the day before. I didn’t realize it because the wood shutters were closed, however they did not lock. Anyone, animal or person, could have simply pushed on the wood shutters and they swing wide open. My belonging were never secure when I was out of my room, and neither was I when I was sleeping the night before. I brought all of this to the attention of the manager when I left the next morning. They were sympathetic and apologized for the security issue. However, I was not offered a thing. Consider the extremely high price I paid to stay there for 2 nights it was disappointing.
Realizing my windows were wide open while looking at what was waking me up at midnight.

Property is right near the beach and Aldo’s downtown. A lot of neat shops and dining choices. Close to monterey, 17 mile drive and Big Sur. We stayed for 2 nights and day tripped one day to Big Sur and another to Monterey via the 17 mile drive. I’ve property. Pastries were great in the morning. No AC and it was a little hot in the room but they do provide a box fan which helped. I would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff as well.

The location of this quaint property was perfect. It was posted as "extended twin or queen bed". What we got was a double bed. A little small for two for three nights. "extended twin" should have been listed as "double", a more common term.

We do have 4 different room types being the Carmel Hideaway the smaller ones with low vaulted ceilings which are bungalow style. Great unique stay in Carmel-by-the-sea. Hotel is older, but customer service was great when there was a leaky shower in our room - they attended to it right away. Super walkable to downtown Carmel and the beach. Would stay again.

The property is located in a residential neighborhood with well maintained grounds. It was quiet and we could walk everywhere necessary in town. These are older style cottages that have been restored. The floors are creeky and you will probably hear your neighbors but they have clean comfortable beds, baths and some rooms have fireplaces. Quaint little rooms with all the amenities. The staff is super accommodating in particular Paul who checked us in. He gave us a pet friendly room with a back porch which was great for drinking coffee and watching the various squirrels and birds on the property. Breakfast is just coffee and croissants. However we found great pastries (scones and almond bear claws) at the Carmel bakery on Ocean Ave just a short walk from the green lantern to downtown. Truly enjoyed our stay!
